Jeff
"Hey!! You've been challenged Ya big scaredy cat!!" Toby teased me knowing good and well why I didn't want to go to the haunted farmhouse down the street from his house. Days previously we had both gone to see a gypsy, which was all fine and well until she told me my fate. Toby laughed it off like some kind of a joke. I on the other hand know better than to brush off such warnings. I lost my brother Beau a few chapters back due to haunted things and I didn't want to cause more grief for my parents...
Well, push came to shove and I'm standing right in front of the run-down house. My breath puffs of white smoke in front of me chills running up my spine and my skin breaking out in goose flesh. Just several signs that I shouldn't be here... But you know Toby... He would never let me back down from a challenge.
The floorboards groaned under the weight of our bodies as we journeyed further into my death scene. I'm not optimistic by no means. The pictures on the walls keep staring me down like they know I will be joining them. If that didn't make you shiver, I don't know what will. The door to the right creaked open and the smell of something moldy and damped surrounded us.
"That's creepy..." Toby laughed nervously reaching out to push the door open wider. While I stood back watching dark objects creep in the shadows. I gulped side stepping closer to the same door Toby had disappeared into when a shadow grew larger in the moonlight that was drifting across the floor. I didn't know what it was, but I could feel its malice.
"Toby...Tobs... Let's get out of here." I stammer grasping onto his jacket. He shoved me off him.
"Bruh! Chill... it's not even that creepy." He exclaimed looking at me like I had lost my marbles. I felt like I had. He continued deeper into the room, and that's where I saw it. The place where I was supposed to die. Of course, Toby would walk in there and trip like she said he would, hurtling me forward to save him from the jagged pieces of glass on the windowsill. In turn causing me to impale my chest with said glass. Of course... Do you know how much that fucking hurt? To make matters worse that shadow thing appeared with its excruciatingly white teeth smiling at me, he had been waiting for me. I'd say kill me now. But it looks like I achieved that myself.
Standing outside my body I stared at the glass sticking out my back and then at Toby who was screaming and balling his eyes out trying to figure out what he should do. His hands were trembling moving forward to touch my mangled body then snatching his hand back and yelping when it would twitch.
Jeff says that's normal, and I should go now.
