I sat there scraping my fork across the plate with that cringey noise I hate so much. I guess you could say I was punishing myself for allowing the job opportunity to slip through my fingers yet again.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Ban asked giving me an overbearing look of disgust.

"I didn't get in the knights guard..." I went to scrape the fork again, but he snatched it sticking it into the wall behind my head. I flinched staring up into his red cat-like eyes.

"So, you thought coming here to this shop and killing everyone's ears within it would make you feel better?" Honestly, I didn't see it that way... Clearly, I have upset one of the seven deadly sins. That's when I realized I had wandered into their shop, and Meliodas had an amused look on his face staring at me. Jumping over the counter, he got a grunt from Hawk.

"I hear you are looking for a job, and it looks like you and Ban here are getting along well with each other. You can be his side kick for all intents and purposes." He amused staring down at my chest then back to Ban.

"She's great."

"Uh...I'm right here... Who said I wanted to be a side kick?" I mumbled, not that I wasn't grateful. I've heard the rumors though. Ban is a hard ass and doesn't play well with others unless it's King's sister, and even then, that's a hit or miss.

"It's either Ban or Gowthar." He grinned causing the pink purple haired boy to perk up at the sound of his name. However, when he saw me his face fell, and he left the room.

He was an odd one for sure.

"You should work with Gowthar... A real eye opener that one." I shook my head vigorously attaching myself to Ban's waist. Only to be shoved by my face of from him. I knew that was coming but it was worth it.

"Looks like she want's you grumpy gills." Meliodas winked at him looking me up and down until something caught his attention. I smiled tentatively at Ban who again shoved my head to the side sauntering off out the front door of the shop. Great...

Running after him the hot air hit me knocking the wind out of my chest.

"ugh! Wh-what the?" the whole city was up in smoke. Flames licked from windows as screams filled the thick smoky air.

"Man-up girl we got work to do!" Ban gave a devilish grin while jumping high in the air. The other 6 deadly sins to follow. I stood there gawking until I realized I needed to help as well. Running up the street I helped random citizens escape their burning homes and shops. Rounding the corner, I ran smack into a grotesque body. It was dripping in blood and it's tendrils wrapped around me crushing my chest. I guess I didn't qualify for this job either. Oops...
