.: Mono's P.o.V. :.

They quietly crept to the old shack, Mono reached for the knob and quietly opened the door. He peeked inside and saw it was clearly a storage shack, some light crept in from the only window and had many crates.

"What's inside?" Twenty-Three asked, Mono turned to her, "It's really a storage shack," he answered while opening the door wide. Twenty-Three looked around and blinked at one corner, tilting her head to the side and walking in.

"Twenty-Three? What are you doing?" He asked and Twenty-Three ignored him, he followed her. Twenty-Three lit her oil lamp and made it to the other end of the shack, she peeked on the side of a crate and lowered it to the ground. Blowing off some dust, there was a wooden trapdoor, looked a but worn down like the shack, but was wide enough for some very big monster/person to enter.

"Huh, probably it's more than a storage," she said while crouching down, Mono crouched down beside her and they opened the trapdoor. Under it was a metal stairway going down and the cold air breezed out to them, Mono was glad he had a paperbag to block the breeze, but still felt cold. Twenty-Three turned to Mono, "Let's investigate?"

Mono nodded, "Sure," he mumbled and Twenty-Three went down, Mono carefully climbed in with his ladle and closed the trapdoor. He followed the oil lamp's light and they made it to a metal door with a lock.

Mono looked around and saw the keys hung next to the door by a hook, he grabbed it and tried the first key. The door unlocked and he opened it, there was a screech of the door hinges as it was opened wide.

On the other side was darkness, and it was freezing cold. Twenty-Three went in first with her lamp and lit the way. They went inside the what seemed like a long wide freezing hallway, the farther they walked, there was some light, but it was weak. It smelled quite different too, moldy and... some other smell that Mono couldn't even describe as. They walked on, passing through bars that the lamp lit and some crates, Twenty-Three inspected her surroundings before freezing up like the cold hall.

"What's wrong?" Mono asked in a hush tone and Twenty-Three motioned her lamp to where she was staring at, Mono fixated his gaze to where Twenty-Three was pointing and froze too.

With the lamp's light and the bit of light coming from the hall, they managed to see that the bars were cells. Most were open, but some had animals and some sleeping children in it. But the one that caught Twenty-Three's attention was the one wider cell with a tall big figure.

The figure was big enough for the Janitor's height and seemed to be in a crouched posistion. It was amazing how this figure managed to fit in the hall, or the doors. The figure gruffed, shuffling around in the cell. Mono could hear the chains rattling at their every movement, it seemed restless.

"Why... why does it look familiar?" Twenty-Three mumbled, the figure rumbled and tried to reach out for the cells, but the chains restrained them to do so. Twenty-Three inched back and gripped tight on Mono's hand, she was right. The figure does look familiar.

There was footsteps overhead and it echoed through the hall, the trapdoor was opened. Twenty-Three jolted, "Uh, what was that?" She asked in a hushed tone.

There was more footsteps, Mono turned to Twenty-Three, "Turn your lamp off," he ordered and Twenty-Three turned it off, leaving them in the darkness. Mono reached out and felt the bars of an open cell, he went in with Twenty-Three at tow.

Mono reached out his hand in the cell and felt that the cell was more of a storage room with all the shelves and crates inside. Mono carefully guided the both of them to a safe corner, he crouched down and Twenty-Three crouched down beside him.

There was a loud creak, no doubt the door was pushed open. "Huh, the others must've forgot to close the door," a voice said.

"Stupid shadow children," another snickered, "Oh wait, they might hear us."

"Glad you know that, or else those would kill you," the same voice as before said, there was a sound of someone lighting a match, "C'mon, we're gonna check the monster, we might use... her soon," they said.

"Yeah, especially the shadow children are still asleep," the other voice agreed. There was more footsteps and Mono took the urge to peek out, there was two doll children incoming to where they were with a torch at hand. Before they could notice him, he crept back to the safe corner, Twenty-Three tilted her head, "What is it?" She whispered.

"Just some doll children, nothing new," Mono answered in the same hushed tone. Twenty-Three shivered, either out of fear or the cold, Mono couldn't tell.

"Well it's the monster! How are ya?" The first doll child asked once they made it infront of the cell. The monster in the cell gruffed before charging to them, but got restrained by the chain.

"We're gonna need you soon, so be prepared for some children kidnapping," the second doll child said and the monster growled, it didn't seem happy about it and sounded more like it wanted to tear the two doll children apart.

"Well if you do wish to tear us missy, you know you can't. You got the device over your neck to make you follow whatever we want," the first doll child said while grinning, "But oh well, knowing you'll kill us if we open this, goodnight monster," they said while pulling out a tranq gun and shooting the monster's arm.

The monster yelped while slamming to the ground passed out. The cell door was opened, one of them went in and got busy unlocking the monster from their restrains. They pulled out the monster from the cell, and the two peeked out from the corner they were hiding at, since it could be a good time to see how the monster looked like.

The second doll was pulling the monster out the cell, the monster wasn't that seen well, but Mono saw a flash of yellow from it before the doll children started dragging it deeper into the hall, and not to where they came from.

"Uhm, Mono?" Twenty-Three whispered and he turned to her, "What?"

"If they do get out... they are gonna lock the door, right?" She asked, "And we'll be locked in here. Right?"

Mono blinked, "Crap, we have to get out here before we get locked," he said and Twenty-Three nodded, "Excatly," she said.

Mono carefully walked out the storage cell, "Could you turn the lamp on... But in the dimmest light?" Mono asked while turning to where Twenty-Three might be.

"Oh yeah, hold on," she said while pulling out her lamp and turning it on, making the flame dim so they wouldn't get caught. Both of them peeked out the cell door, to the left was deeper into the hall, which the dolls are going to. The the right was the door they came from.

"Let's go before they come back," Twenty-Three said and Mono nodded, they quickly went out the cell and ran to the door. They were almost by the door when...

"Who the heck are you two?!"

The two froze, and turned to see the doll children with the knocked out monster at tow. Still they couldn't see the monster hiding in the shadows, but a blinking red light came from where their neck would be.

Mono and Twenty-Three looked at each other, seeming to know what to do next. They ran for the door and the dolls spluttered, "What the-! COME BACK HERE!" One of them shouted as they chased them.

They went to the other side of the door and Twenty-Three slammed it shut, Mono got the keys which still hung by the hook and locked the door. The doll children from the other side slammed the door, "OPEN THIS DOOR!!!"

.: Twenty-Three's P.o.V. :.

Twenty-Three sighed out in relief. Clearly the thought of being stuck in that cold freezer like prison is terrifying. It was like the nightmare she had but was more real than that, clearly she was about to freak out if she was alone, but gladly, Mono was with her.

The dolls still slammed onto the door, demanding it to be open. Like hell she would, they locked them there for a reason after all. They're gonna have fun being terrorized to bits by who ever that monster was.

She turned to Mono, "Let's get out of here," she said and Mono nodded, they opened the trap door and went out. She saw something peek out in one of the crates and she went to it, since she has the source of light, she snooped what it had inside.

There was some bread in the crate, Twenty-Three took two and hid it inside her cloak. Mono was already by the door which was closed - no doubt the doll children closed it- then he faced Twenty-Three, "What took you too long?" He asked.

"I found food. Mon, I've skipped eating for nearly two days. I need to eat, you too," she said while handing him the other bread, Mono accepted it, "Huh, thanks, let's eat this once we get out of here," he said while putting it in one of his inside pockets and Twenty-Three nodded.

Mono reached out to open the door, the door opened ajar and Mono was about to head out when he froze. Twenty-Three tilted her head, "Mono? What's wrong?"

"There are more of them outside," he said and Twenty-Three's eyes widened while she peeked on out beside him, there was a set of doll children outside, and also a big cage - for the monster no doubt. "Oh god, how are we gonna get out?" She wondered.

Mono looked around and pointed the window, "Over there," he said and climbed on the crates. Twenty-Three followed behind, but she stopped when she heard pounding under the trapdoor.

The trapdoor was pushed open and Twenty-Three jumped over to the next crate to avoid getting collided with the metal parts of the trapdoor, or the broken peices of the trapdoor. A chunk of wood flew straight for Twenty-Three and she ducked.

"What was that?!" Mono asked from his place near the window, Twenty-Three looked up to him then back to the cloud of dust covering the trapdoor's entrance, "Just open the window!" She said while climbing up, "Hurry!"

Mono turned back to the window and used his ladle to shatter it open. There was a loud roar and Twenty-Three turned to see the figure of the monster in the dust cloud, she gulped and ran for the last crate to reach the window.

Mono reached down for Twenty-Three, "C'mon!" He said and Twenty-Three accepted his hand, the monster was now causing a havoc and making anything fly to their way, still Twenty-Three couldn't see the monster.

Mono pulled her up as the monster tossed a metal shard to Twenty-Three, it missed and stabbed through the wall. Twenty-Three sighed out, "Thanks," she said, Mono smiled, "Anytime," he said and went over the window.

Twenty-Three followed and saw the doll children, "What happened?!" They asked while running to the shack. "This seems like a good time to go now," Mono mumbled while getting ready to hop out the window.

Twenty-Three went beside him until she felt a hand wrap around her, she yelped as she was pulled into the billowing dust cloud.

"Twenty-Three!" Mono shouted as he held up his ladle and ran for her from his place on the crates. Twenty-Three tried to squirm out of the grasp of the monster, but it was one strong grip.

She then heard a gruff and Twenty-Three turned, freezing up when she saw the face of the monster. Her mind blurred up for a minute and she wasn't sure if she was seeing right.

It was...

No...

It couldn't be.

How...

You did this to me, a voice echoed from the monster, You betrayed me... Betrayed us...

Twenty-Three closed her eyes and shook her head, she was probably seeing things. She opened her eyes again and saw the monster still looked the same. Horror filled Twenty-Three.

Now, this is what you get, the monster grumbled while raising Twenty-Three up, their grip on her tightening and tightening until Twenty-Three felt out of breath. It made her more want to squirm free, but it was no use.

Then there was a shriek from the monster, making Twenty-Three fall down. She was too in shock to notice she was falling, and when she did, she was almost going to slam on to the floor.

Mono caught her all bridal lift style and quickly jumped away to the window, the monster roared in anger as it... she chased them. It tried to reach out for them again but luckily Mono hopped out the window just as tried to grab them.

Twenty-Three just gripped onto Mono's shoulder, what she saw was too much for her to handle... and what the monster looked like and said... Did she really do that to her?

Mono landed on the ground safely and Twenty-Three snapped out of her thoughts. Mono turned to her, "You okay?"

"Uh, yeah, thanks," Twenty-Three blushed when she realized that Mono was carrying her, "Uhm, you can put me down now," she said.

Mono paused, then nodded, "U-uhm y-yeah... y-you're welcome," he stammered while gently putting Twenty-Three down and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

Twenty-Three smiled, that was a cute reaction from him. She never saw Mono be like this before. Though their cute moment was cut short when the monster broke open the door.

"Woah! Steady you monster!"

"No! Get those two!"

The dolls shouted, but the monster roared loud while pointing at them. It was good that there was a dust cloud covering the monster... If Mono saw who it was... it wouldn't be good to know right now.

"Okay let's go!" Twenty-Three said while holding Mono's hand and they sped away. The dolls perked up and pursued them, now seeming to have an idea of what is happening.

They quickly climbed the wall and hopped over into the Forest once again. Unfortunately, the dolls quickly followed and showed up in front of them. There was about fifteen of them, all of them cornering the two.

"So... You take the right, I take the left?" Mono asked and Twenty-Three smirked, "Was there ever a doubt?" She asked while pulling out her umbrella.

"Okay then," Mono said while raising his ladle, the dolls grinned their sharp teeth and suddenly had long pointy nails. They all lunged simultaniously and the two dodged.

Another doll landed then dashed for Twenty-Three. Twenty-Three hopped aside, ducked, and stabbed the heart of the doll with the tip of the umbrella, another doll lunged behind her and she whacked them to the wall.

Mono swung his ladle and hit two of the dolls far away, there was a crack, so basically those dolls are broken. He slammed it down to another doll coming up to him and swung to another doll lunging for him.

There was a roar behind the walls and the two jolted, they looked at each other and pushed past the dolls. Mono slammed another doll to a tree while Twenty-Three kicked another one into a sharp dead branch, impaling them.

The roar continued until the stone wall broke, the stones flying all around.

Author: *Guren no Yumiya intensifies*

Author: *hits myself* no, just no.

The monster roared again, Twenty-Three looked back to see another dust cloud covering her. She sighed out and ran for Mono, who was now farther from her.

The remaining dolls continued to pursue them, since the monster was still having a hard time moving about. Twenty-Three caught up with Mono and they kept running past the Forest.

Two dolls pounced behind Twenty-Three and she yelped while falling down. Mono skiddled to a stop and turned to her, "Twenty-Three!"

Twenty-Three struggled to break free from the two dolls restraining her. Mono ran for her, another doll ran up to him and gripped on his arm tightly that it peirced his skin.

Another ran up to scar him, yet Mono just used his ladle and smashed the doll's head, then used it to break the other two dolls holding Twenty-Three down. Twenty-Three sighed out, "Thanks, your arm okay?" She asked while standing up.

Mono looked down on his wound and shrugged, "I'll be fine," he said while moving it a bit. Twenty-Three looked at him uncertainty then nodded, "If you say so... " she mumbled. Clearly she wanted to see if he was okay, but Mono says he fine so there's no need to press on it.

But still, it must've hurt. Ugh why does Twenty-Three care that much anyways?

Becuse this is what love does to you, you oblivious flick.

... I guess so...

YOU ADMITTED?!

... shush.

The monster roared again and Twenty-Three snapped out from the thoughts she had. Mono looked back and turned to her, "We should get going," Mono said and ran, Twenty-Three nodded and followed behind.

The monster and what was left of the doll children now chasing them behind. She crashed past the trees and caused more billowing dust. Twenty-Three didn't dare to look back and just ran for it.

They kept running until they saw a bridge and across it was a denser foliage, it looked big enough to fit about them and the doll children but not for the monster. They ran over the bridge, since there wasn't any other good options.

Twenty-Three turned back, she searched into the pockets of her cloak until she saw the good ol' scissors. She used it to cut the ropes and the brige fell.

The monster and doll children stopped, "Damn it!" One of the doll children cursed while glaring at Twenty-Three. Twenty-Three held her breath and sighed out.

Mono was trying to catch his breath. The monster roared then went back deep into the Forest, the doll children followed defeated. Mono looked at them, and only saw the monster's back.

"We've lost them," Mono sighed out, Twenty-Three turned to him and nodded, "Let's... get going," Twenty-Three said as she walked on, forgetting the face of the monster.

That monster... looked excatly like Six.
