-(We changed our design of Nightmare Kevin a bit, it's not agreed fully but I'm adding that he gains black wings and a black tail with a furry tuft at the end when in Compete Nightmare mode because reasons and the fact he'll look ridiculous floating in mid air...)-

I shrieked as I fell down, my arms failing like mad as I tried to catch hold of something to slow my descent, suddenly I felt something wrap around my torso and gradually slow my descent so as to not break my ribs. I looked up and saw the King hovering above me, I gaped as black wings beat at the air slowing our descent as softly as they dared. When my feet touched the ground I immediately tore free of the Kings grip and backed away once again growling like an animal to try ward him off. He just sighed and his hair lashed out, wrapping around me softer than usual and dragging me over.

"Look I'm sorry about back then... I'm not very good at controlling my instincts when certain things happen so that's why I acted like that and I'm sorry..." When did the King apologise?! "So... Let's start this properly... My real name is Kevin Rodney but I'm known as Nightmare Kevin because I'm everyone's worst nightmare" I relaxed a little before answering, "My name is Anthony Zane Jaeger, my father died a year ago and I'm not sure what happened to my mother..." Kevin looked empathic which was kinda unheard of because reasons, "I killed my parents... I didn't want to but I had no control over myself when I did... I visit their graves every Sunday to pay my respects and apologise knowing I don't deserve forgiveness..." He sighed and began to cry silently, my heart ached for him because no one deserved to suffer like that so I wriggled out his hair, which had slackened slightly, and hugged him. He stiffened a little but hugged back and cried into my shoulder while I rubbed circles in his back.

Eventually he hiccuped himself into silence while I sang to him a song I'd heard from somewhere I didn't remember:

Red like roses
Fills my dreams
And brings me to the
Place you rest
White is cold
And always yearning
Burn and bade
The loyal test
Black the beast
Descends from shadows
Yellow beauty burns
Gold...

As I sang Kevin calmed down even more even beginning to hum along to the tune, "Where did you learn that?" He asked as I finished singing, I shrugged "I don't know... I know there's more but I only know this verse..." Kevin seemed to think for a bit. "There was a prophecy that someone with the first song of red would be the downfall of the darkness, he'll become all endings given form and save the ones that matter most," I snorted, "Prophecies like that crop up from no where I mean come on it's not like most of them come true!" Kevin grunted and became silent after that.

"It's lunchtime Anthony, shall we go back?" I nodded and together we made our way back to the palace, I was a little muddy so we stopped by Kevin's room to pick up a plain t-shirt and trousers before hand. My dirty clothes were sent to the laundry and we placed our crowns in the treasure room where they were to be guarded until we needed them again, we then arrived at the dining room which was huge with a long table which was laden with food. My mouth watered at the sight and I tried hard not to drool. Kevin guided me to the head of the table where two seats occupied the end, both were solid gold and padded with velvet, one was red and black the other was purple and blue. I settled in the red and black one while Kevin took his place in the blue and purple one, I looked at all the food my mouth watering a bit but I waited patiently for anyone else to come in. Kevin just chuckled, "The food is for us, no one else is coming."

I picked some chicken, bread and oranges from the plates. As I ate I took in the smooth fluffy texture of the bread, the tender and juiciness of the chicken and the tangy taste of the oranges. Pretty good meal in all. Pretty soon all the oranges were gone and mutilated, torn orange peel and pith occupied my plate since I loved oranges. Kevin was snorting with laughter as I tore into another orange, tearing it apart and sucking up all the juice as if I was a predator devouring its meal. I paused to wipe my mouth and surpass a burp before giving Kevin a satisfied smile that said 'Fear me' Kevin laughed lightly and clapped me on the back causing me to spit out a load of orange seeds I'd been storing, they ricocheted off the walls at incredible speed before the door opened and that snooty judge came in only to be bombarded with all the seeds then knocked out.

"Whoops..." I squeaked covering my mouth while Kevin howled with laughter having to clutch the table to keep himself upright as the judge picked himself up off the floor, his face peppered with orange seeds which only made Kevin laugh all that harder. "Explain why the Jaeger boy is here," He growled and I snarled "I'm not a boy! I'm thirty!" I yelled in anger and a window shattered into fragments, Kevin tried to calm me down but I pinned the judge to the wall by the throat. "Piss me off again and I'll show you boy!" I hissed and dropped him, stalking back to Kevin's side mumbling profanities only bovine ears could understand. Kevin put his hand on my shoulder and the red highlight entwined itself in my fingers as the others rubbed themselves against my legs and back trying to calm me down.

The judge left and Kevin apologised "Sorry about him, he goes by the books that a criminal should be out of the place when the verdict was reached. He labels anyone abnormal, except me, as a criminal so that's why he trailed you when you saved me with your magic since that was an abnormality that hasn't existed for two hundred years..." I sighed, "Did he get the message?" Kevin shrugged, "He got it pretty well when you assaulted him, more so when my hair wrapped around you. It usually has a mind of its own but sometimes I can control it, it only wraps around people and rubs them when I like them." I blushed a bit and Kevin remained silent when dessert came.

Let's just say Kevin was highly entertained when I dived for the chocolate brownies... Literally...
