Bella woke up as a newborn, immediately noticing the differences in her senses - like dust particles in the air, the textures and details of things in the room. She saw Jacob walking out of the house toward Edward and her.

"You're still here," Bella stated.

"So are you. I didn't expect you to seem so you," Jacob replied. "Except for the creepy eyes."

Jacob tried walking closer to Bella to hug her, but she took a step back.

"I would keep my distance for now," Bella warned.

"It's safer for the baby to see how you do with me first," Jacob explained.

"Since when do you care about Renesmee?"

Jacob and Edward exchanged a knowing look with each other. Bella had no idea that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee.

Jacob spread his arms. "All right, take a whiff."

Bella took a slow step closer and took in a big whiff of Jacob. Her nose coiled up. "Well, I can see what everyone's been talking about. Jake, you really do stink."

Edward and Jacob laughed.

"You guys really look great together," Jacob genuinely said, smiling.

"Want to come meet our daughter?" Edward asked Bella.

Jacob ran ahead into the house as Bella and Edward walked into the house. When Bella and Edward walked into the house, the whole family was there with Renesmee.

Esme smiled brightly. "Welcome to the family."

"You look amazing, Bella," Alice complimented.

"Someone's been waiting to meet you," Carlisle said.

Rosalie turned around. Beatrice was next to Rosalie, cooing at Renesmee. Alec was next to Beatrice, an arm wrapped lovingly around her waist as the couple peered at Renesmee.

"What is he doing here?" Bella demanded. "Why is he so close to Renesmee?"

"Bella, look at his eyes," Beatrice whispered. "Alec is learning. He won't hurt you or Renesmee."

Bella looked into Alec's eyes. He didn't flinch or back away from Bella's intense stare. Alec's eyes were tinted red with topaz swirls and sparkles. However, Bella noticed he wasn't breathing. Most of the Cullens and Hales breathed to feel human, but Alec wasn't. He still didn't trust himself to breathe around Renesmee. He didn't want to hurt her.

"He's learning like you," Edward whispered.

Bella looked at Edward, who was nodding slightly at her. She gave him a grimace of a smile, then turned to Alec and Beatrice.

"I guess we're in it together," she whispered.

Alec nodded once, turning slightly to press a kiss to the side of Beatrice's head. Bella's dead heart warmed up at the sight of Beatrice's star-struck smile when he kissed her.

"Would you like to hold her?" Rosalie whispered.

Bella eyed Renesmee eagerly and nodded. Rosalie handed Renesmee to Bella, and Renesmee tenderly touched Bella's face. Bella was sucked into a vision, seeing an image of herself when she gave birth to Renesmee. As soon as she was sucked out of the vision, she let out a shocked breath.

"What was that?"

"She showed you the first memory she has of you," Edward said.

"Showed me? How?" Bella questioned.

"How do I hear thoughts? How does Alice see the future? How does Beatrice see the past? She's gifted," he replied.

"I've only been out for two days?" Bella asked.

Carlisle nodded. "Her growth rate is unprecedented."

"Alright. That's enough experimenting for one day," Jacob said.

"Jacob, she's doing great," Edward replies.

Jacob nodded. "Yeah, let's not push it though."

"What's your problem?" Bella asked.

Rosalie smirked. "Oh - Do tell her, Jacob."

Emmett chuckled. "This should be good."

"Hold on a second." Edward took Renesmee away from Bella.

Jacob took a step back. "Bella, look, it's a wolf thing."

"What's a wolf thing?" Bella asked, taking a step forward.

"Um... You know we have no control over it. We can't choose who it happens with, and it doesn't mean what you think, Bella. I promise," Jacob reassured.

Bella huffed. "Take Renesmee out of the room," she ordered.

Edwards walked up behind her and touched her shoulder.

"Edward, don't touch me right now. I don't want to hurt you."

Edward took his hand away. Bella grabbed Jacob and pulled him out of the house, throwing him onto the dirt.

"You imprinted on my daughter?" Bella growled.

"It wasn't my choice!" Jacob exclaimed.

"She's a baby!"

"It's not like that. You think Edward would let me live if it was?"

The rest of the Cullens and Hales were leaning against the railing or walls, watching in amusement. Beatrice and Alec were grinning. She was slightly jumping in her spot, eager to see Jacob get beat down by the beautiful newborn.

Edward smirked. "I'm still debating it."

"I've held her once! One time, Jacob! And already you think that you have some moronic wolfy claim on her? She's mine!" Bella shouted angrily.

She punched him hard in the face. Leah and Seth in their wolf form arrived on the scene, growling at her.

"It's fine, Leah," Jacob muttered, pushing the wolves back.

"You're gonna stay away from her," Bella ordered.

"You know I can't do that."

Bella punched Jacob hard in the stomach and he fell down.

"Stop her, Edward," Esme hissed.

"He said it's fine. She's amazing, right?" Edward asked, smiling brightly.

"Do you remember how much you wanted to be around me three days ago? That's gone now, right?" Jacob asked.

"Long gone."

"Because it was her. From the beginning, it was Nessie who wanted me there," Jacob explained.

"Nessie? You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?" Bella screamed.

As Bella charged at Jacob in anger, Seth attacked her, trying to protect his alpha. However, Bella pushed him aside easily and he hit the tree before falling to the ground in pain.

Bella walked backward in shock and worry. "Seth, are you okay?" Bella asked. "Seth, I'm sorry."

Seth whimpered in pain.

"He'll be all right," Jacob reassured. "Bella, you know me better than anyone. All I want is for Ness - Renesmee to be safe, happy. Look, nothing ever made sense before. You, me - Any of it, and now I understand why. This was the reason."
