The next morning, Twilight awoke to a loud clanging bell from outside. Guards filed in, taking prisoners out of their cells and chaining them together.
"What's going on? Maybe...no, she's not evil enough to sell us. Is she?..." Twilight debated in her mind as her and other prisoners walked over to the courtyard Celestia would use to settle out matters and stuff.
When they got outside, the sky was still twinkling with stars. It was quite beautiful in Twilight's opinion. They were seated on the ground and was at the very back of the crowd of Canterlot nobles.

A while passed, and then trumpets blared as the new queen, Nightmare Moon trotted out to the balcony, and the lavender prisoner had to gasp in awe at the sight.
The alicorn was wearing a dark blue dress that was decorated with stars of different colors and they seemed to move and sparkle brightly.
"Oh, my darling," a elegant like voice said next to Twilight. "She may be evil but she has an amazing sense of style. Those stars...oh my!" Twilight turned her head to see a white furred mare with a curled purple mane and makeup with three diamonds as her cutie mark. "Oh dearie, you must be confused. My name is Rarity. Yours is..?" Twilight realized that she was asking for her name. "Um..my name is-"
"Loyal subjects. I have called you all to establish some new laws for Equestria." Nightmare Moon said, glaring at everypony.
"First rule: Night court will only happen on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Next, curfew will be at 8:00 pm sharp. Anypony who is out any later without permission will be punished.
If you wish to leave the country, you must give me personally 10 reasons why you must leave.
If you disobey any of these rules, I shall give you nightmares and punishments for as long as I want. Begone!" The alicorn left the balcony and ponies murmured in conflict and confusion.
Twilight and Rarity looked at each other in confusion.
"Well...it looks like we have to go." Rarity said, looking at the ground.
"Bye Rarity." Twilight said as they were dragged back to their cells.
Once she was back in her cell, Twilight looked out the bar window and sighed.
"What will become of our society...?"
