While all of Equestria was encased in darkness and gloom, Princess Mi Amore Cadendeza (I love Cadence in Spanish) or Princess Cadence stood on the balcony of the Crystal Empire, smiling as she watched her subjects play in the shining capital. She rubbed her stomach, bulging with the newest ruler. "Oh little one, I know that you'll love it here. And your Aunty Twilight will love you too." (A/N:i know flurry hasn't even been acknowledged in the tummy yet, but bear with me here and shhhhhhh) Shining Armour trotted up behind Cadence, holding a newspaper in his pinkish magenta magic aura. "Hello my beautiful wife. I got the newspaper from Canterlot for you." He leaned in to peck the pink mare's cheek, making Cadence giggle.
"Thank you, Shiny." Cadence opened up the newspaper and gasped at the headline.
"Equestria from sunny days to twinkling nights! New Queen!"
"How did this happen? Shining come look at this!" The prince looked at the newspaper over his wife's shoulder as she read it out loud.

"As of two days ago, the [former] Princess Celestia was kidnapped by [what legends say to be] her younger sister: Nightmare Moon. Now to answer your questions about why she did so, the old pony tales[that turned out to be true] said that she was jealous of her sister getting all the attention. So a darkness turned her into Nightmare Moon. Since this new alicorn princess has captured our former one, Nightmare Moon has announced herself the new ruler of Equestria.
[Look on page 9 for an interview reporter Sharp Quill got with our new Queen]~Action Point."
Cadence quickly flipped over to page 9, and the baby kicked quickly and lightly, also seeming to want more.
"Private Interview with Queen Nightmare Moon!
Sharp Quill: 'So your highness, where were you all this time?'
Nightmare Moon: 'I was on the moon, foal. Read the legends!'
SQ: 'So how was it being trapped on the moon for 1000 years?'
NM:'Annoying and absolutely BORING. Moon rocks and counting stars was my best past time.'
SQ: 'Now that you're the new Queen, how do you plan to change Equestria; apart from trapping it in eternal night?'
NM:' I shall make this kingdom stronger in military, education, and magic. Celestia's ruling skills have made this place...soft. I might add dark magic and the old defense spells to the magic school. And this city will get some renovations as well.'
SQ:'Why did you imprison some ponies here?'
NM:'Because they have lots of power. I don't want them to try to overthrow me, so I plan to make them join me and use them.'
SQ:' Alright. Thanks for having us today-er tonight.'
NM:' My pleasure.'
And that concludes our interview."
Shining and Cadence looked at each other in shock. This could be bad for Equestria.
"Shining," Cadence started breathlessly. "Assemble the troops and give them extra training."
