Chapter 2: It Wasn't Just A Dream...
Ebony woke up. Cold sweat soaked her pillow.
It was just a dream she thought relieved.
It was a sunny day and she finished her chores early. She tried to find a nice sunny spot to lay down but kept feeling the urge to go into the forest. Not being able to resist the temptation, Ebony walked towards the forest.
Maybe there is a nice, quiet sunny spot beyond the trees.
As she walked through the forest, a thought changed her expression from a smile, to a worried frown.
What would uncle George do if he found out?
Suddenly she tripped. Ebony went tumbling down a steep hill and came to a stop, hitting her head on a rock. Then darkness.
When Ebony finally came conscious, it was dark. Her eyes adjusted and she was still in the forest. Her clothes were damp from the soil.
Oh no.
Her eyes started to water.
This is just a dream.
She knew what would happen next. There was a loud blood-curdling scream.
No, no, no, no! No this can't be happening! THIS HAS GOT TO BE A DREAM!
She couldn't resist heading towards the sound. She got there quicker than she thought she would. Ebony froze. Laying down on the ground, was a girl in a pool of blood. Ebony wanted to scream. Most of all, she wanted to wake up. But she couldn't. It was real. Ebony was too frightened to move. The girl looked up and there where those two blackholes. Ebony ran faster than she ever had before. Just like the dream, Ebony stopped and screamed at the girl who appeared infront of her.
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Ebony yelled with tears streaming down her cheeks. She turned and ran. She didn't look behind her because she knew the girl was behind her.
Even though she knew that the girl would appear almost face to face with her any minute now, she needed to catch her breath and find the light of the mansion. As soon as she found the light she heard a twig snap. Instead of turning around, she ran to the mansion.
When she finally got to the mansion, she ran into her aunts arms, that were waiting open at the door, and cried.
"It wasn't a dream" she cried as her aunt calmed her. Aunt Francis layed in Ebony's bed with her, stroking her head until she went to sleep.
