After the excitement that was Nova revealing she was pregnant again, things calmed down. For two weeks at least. 

Because two weeks after Nova announced they were expecting, so did Taylor. 

Nova looked at JJ and simply said “you couldn't let me have this alone, could you?” 

To which JJ replied, “you DID! This is your SECOND kid!” Nova couldn't argue that point. 

But Taylor was glad she was going through this with Nova. First, Nova had already experienced pregnancy, so Taylor could talk to her about it. But second, they hit a lot of milestones around the same time, so it made things more manageable and easier for the two women. 

The two couples decided to do a joint gender reveal with close friends and family. Mav was already excited for another grandchild but to also have Ice's grandchild coming was special. (He had pulled JJ aside when they told everyone and expressed how proud Ice would be. JJ didn't even try to hide the tears.) 

The party was chaotic, but what would you expect? They had decided to use cake for the reveals, with the icing being the indicator. Since this was JJ and Taylor's first child, they went first. 

So together, they cut into the cake and on the count of three, pulled out the piece to reveal BLUE!! They were having a boy!! 

Neither JJ nor Taylor cared what gender their baby was going to be, they were just so happy to be having them. But a boy was a little bitter sweet, without Tom there. Sarah definitely hugged her son just a little tighter when she got to him, knowing what he was thinking. 

Nova and Jake were up next. They got into position and did the same and JJ and Taylor. 

And by God, it seemed Jake Seresin was meant to be a girl dad because the icing was PINK!! Skyler was getting a baby sister! 

Bradley, Javy, and JJ had a good laugh at that, only imagining the karma that would be coming to Jake Seresin as his daughters grew older. 

Soon enough, the women were going into labor, only a week apart. 

Luna Seresin was born first, already looking like a carbon copy of her father. (Though Mav argued that she had the Mitchell nose.) And the minute she smiled, anyone could see she had her mother's smile, even at only a week old. 

Alexander Thomas Kazansky was born a week after Luna, named after his late grandfather. Sarah had cried when they told her the idea months prior but no one else knew. It was one of the few times they had witnessed Mav shed tears. (Other than his own granddaughters’ births). 

Both Nova and Taylor were physically and mentally exhausted but they had each other and their husbands. Not to mention Skye was already being a good and dutiful older sister,  giving her mom and Aunt Taylor updates when they would sit down. 

But the two babies were healthy and happy. That was truly all the families could ask for.

Only a few months after the births of Luna and Alex was another major milestone for the ever growing family (extended and all). 

Amelia was graduating college. As the youngest ‘sibling’ in the group of four, she was just waiting to finally be considered an adult. Even after she turned 18, it did nothing. (Hate to break it to you, Amelia, but you will always be the baby, doesn't matter your age). 

The actual ceremony, only Penny, Mav, and Nova attended, as well as Amelia's Dad and step mom, though Amelia wasn't all too happy about that. (He really hadn't stepped up, especially since finding out Maverick was back in the picture with Penny). 

As soon as the ceremony was over and it was picture time, Jake showed up with the two girls, as well as Bradley and JJ. Taylor wanted to come but Alex was having some trouble sleeping, so they wanted to get him adjusted some more.

As soon as Skye spotted Amelia, she went running as fast as her little four year old legs could. “Aunty Mel!” She practically screamed at the top of her lungs. 

Amelia let go of whoever she was holding for a picture and scooped her up, swinging her all around. Skye was squealing as they spun, while Amelia was laughing. Those around, both family and strangers, smiled at the sight. Such pure happiness and excitement out of the two. 

You would think, being Amelia's college graduation, there would be a lot of pictures of her with her parents and friends. But the majority of the photos were Amelia and Skye, although many of Amelia's friends knew and loved Skye already so they were more than happy to have her in the photos. 

Her celebration was held at the Hard Deck, closed for the private function, where the extended family and friends gathered. Taylor was able to finally congratulate the girl, happy she made it through her program, knowing the girl had had some difficult semesters. 

One of Amelia's favorite photos was blown up on display for everyone to see. It was of the four ‘siblings’, in a pose they did quite often. Nova had Amelia's head, Bradley had her body, and JJ had her legs, holding her up in mid-air, all four of them laughing their heads off. 

To the three older ones, they couldn't believe their baby sister had graduated. It seemed almost impossible for her to be that grown up. But they were quickly reminded that they weren't alone in that fact, as two of them had kids of their own. 

And they would find out just how quickly time can fly when watching someone you love grow.

It was officially Skye's first day of kindergarten and Nova and Jake couldn't believe it. No way was their baby five years old! She can't be starting school already?! Even if she had been in pre-school it hadn't sunk in for the parents until the morning they were dropping her off. 

She was only there until lunch, having been placed in the morning class, but she would be going to daycare afterwards, until Nova or Jake would pick her and Luna up. 

Skye was so excited to be going to school, nervous at first, but seeing some other kids from preschool helped. Nova, on the other hand, was barely keeping it together, keeping her tears at bay until the car. 

Jake simply hugged his daughter, told her to be good and behave, and then held his wife as they watched their daughter go into her room to start learning. 

“We still have 3 more years before Luna goes to school,” he tried to console her with that news. He only succeeded in Nova thinking about both her daughters being at school and away from her. 

Jake signed, realizing he said the wrong thing. “Come on, we still need to take Luna to daycare.” 

“Can I keep her home with me today?” Nova asked, wanting one of her girls with her. 

Jake gave her a look. “Don't you have work in 2 hours?” Nova shook her head. “I switched shifts with Mary, so I could have today off.” 

Jake shakes his head. “Of course you did. Come on, let's go snuggle our daughter before I have to go in. You don't get all the cuddles.” 

They make it home fairly quickly, as Skye's school isn't too far from their house. And despite Luna having been in her car seat the entire time, Nova takes her out and hugs her tightly, not wanting to let her go. 

“Mama, squish me,” Luna's little voice squeaks out, knowing those words from her older sister always saying them. (Nova tends to squeeze her daughters into tight hugs often). 

“Sorry LuLu,” Nova lets up a bit, but Jake is quick to wrap his arms around his girls, squishing both of them. 

“Dada, no,” Luna laughs, as does Nova. Jake simplest squeezes a bit tighter before letting go completely. 

The end of the day comes soon enough, though it was quite long for the parents. And once Skye is home, she tells the family of her adventures in school that day, from meeting new kids, to her nice teacher, to the playground game she and her friends played. 

That night ended with the two girls sitting between their parents, falling asleep on the couch, wrapped up in the warmth of family. 

Nova and Jake wouldn't want it any other way.

So we got some Snapshots of the future!!! Little Luna and Alex are here!! And Amelia graduated college!!! And Skye is in kindergarten!! Feels like she was just 3 years old yesterday.
