I work my way up
Back to my floor
At the end of the day

Reaching for my keys
To unlock the front door
I set my bag down, near the bed
To see something I cannot ignore

Shifting my gaze towards the window
Only to be left completely stunned
Shocked by the display in front of me
A display that made me come undone

A cold windy night
Littered with many flashing lights
None of them in the sky
Not one taking flight

Bright lights from below
But none above my eyes
Not a single star in sight
With no sun to arise

Night is night
And day is day
They cannot be what they are
If the moon and sun stopped rotating the right way

Only in the dead of night
Hides the doubts filling my head
What does the night bring
Nothing but the constant feeling of dread

My room grows darker
The same shade as my soul
Can the night explain to me
How I'm losing myself most of all

Morning will come soon
If I wait for so long
There won't be many stars
All except for the blinding sun

I cannot escape it
Gloom follows me naturally
It haunts me through the night
Insomnia plagues me drastically

Nightfall went on for hours
Hours that resembled years
The sun had gone to sleep
Was daylight somewhere near

The sky was waking up slowly
It's gorgeous lighting full of love
But the darkness wrapped around me
Fitting perfectly like a glove
