For this I had to write about a dream I had as a child, so of course I wrote about a nightmare I had when I was five.

The bright green trees flew past as I looked out of the window of the car. Mommy and Daddy had told me they were taking me somewhere, and that it would be a lot of fun. I shifted uncomfortably in my car seat. Just because they thought it would be fun doesn't mean that I don't want to be home watching Go, Diego, Go! It's my favorite show. There is this one episode where Diego even saves a whale by counting the twelve knots of the net that the whale was stuck, in Spanish! That was a challenge, but nothing I couldn't handle.

I stopped my daydreaming when I heard this strange roar. It seemed to be coming from the road ahead of us. I screamed at my parents to stop, but they only told to stop making a fuss. Soon the trees thinned away and I could see the source of the roaring noise. It was a waterfall. Daddy stopped the car and got out, unbuckled me from my seat, and picked me up. Before I knew what had happened I found myself in the arms of a strange lady.

"Let me down! Let me down!" I screamed. "Mommy! Daddy! Don't leave me here! I want to go home!" My parents didn't seem to notice my screaming.

"Have fun sweetie!" Mommy called as she got back into the car.

"You're going to love it here!" My Dad said, trying to reassure me, and terribly failing. I watched sorrowfully as my parents left me alone with a bunch of strangers and a waterfall.

The waterfall was actually two waterfalls. One was gradual slope leading to a small pool of water that the other waterfall goes into. The other waterfall was straight down, and had a diving board off the end. The water surged around rocks and swept the strangers down the waterfall like a waterslide. The strangers seemed to be having fun, but that didn't mean that I had to enjoy it too.

I felt the water surge gently around me, but as the current started to get gradually stronger it swept me off my feet. I floated on my back and screamed as the water carried me in the direction of the waterfall with the diving board. I started paddling with my hands and kicking with my feet. Slowly, I felt my body starting to move. The current was strong, though, and I only managed to change my course. I was now starting down the shallow slope of the other waterfall.

I thought I was going to meet certain doom until I saw the same lady that had carried me before. I felt small spark of hope within me as I once again started screaming and crying for her to help me. She looked over in my direction, saw the distress on my face, and swiftly swept me up into her arms, and out of the current. I was overjoyed at this moment, even though this lady was not my mommy, she still was kind enough to save me.

But that moment was short lived as I realized that she was taking me to back to waterfall that I had avoided. She walked through the current and promptly threw me over the edge of the waterfall. I responded quickly by grabbing the end of the diving board. I held on long as I could, but the diving board was slippery from the spray of waterfall. The roar of the water also drowned out all of my cries, as my hands start to slip. Soon I am only hanging on by my fingertips, and I give up hope that I was going to be rescued. Mommy and Daddy had abandoned me, and now I was about to drop to my death. Maybe I'll wake up and find out this was all a dream. I thought as the last of my strength ran out and I plunged to the dark depths of the waterfall.
