Bella runs home to pack her things. She knows her dad will freak out about the real reason, so as an excuse, she forces herself into a screaming, crying hysteria and says that she hates Washington and is going home. She says these terrible things that are honestly sad. Charlie is spineless but he never hurt anyone.

Bella flies out of the house and jumps in the car with Eddie and his siblings. They tell her she was screaming so loud, the other vampires heard her and are now chasing them.

I...just...

I'm so done.

As they drive 120 MPH they talk about how the vampires might not have tracked Bella so relentlessly if she didn't smell so good. Bella's entire characterization is wrapped up in the idea that she smells good.

They go to Edward's family's house and his mom (I think it's his mom? I forgot her name) tries to disguise Bella's tantalizing aroma by putting her in different clothes. I just...I feel like the clothes ain't the issue.

Then Bella takes off with Edward's siblings. I like stories of people running for their lives so I admit this has made it a tiny, tiny bit bearable.
