First sight
-one week later-
A tiny mewing woke up Ravenpelt, making the tabby blink away her drowsiness as she looked down at her kit, the small tom wiggling slightly, almost as if it had a nightmare. Licking the kit gently, Ravenpelt whispered to it that everything was okay between licks. The kit soon let out a tiny squeak, yawning its tiny jaws before, to Ravepelts' complete surprise, it started to open its eyes, two misty blue eyes looking up at his mother for the first time. Squeaking again, the kit closed its eyes, scared of the giant cat before him, shivering and letting out a fear scent.
Purring gently, Ravenpelt licked it again, whispering to her kit as she moved him to her side, letting the kit calm down with her milk scent, the kit soon starting to suckle. Purring with her love, Ravenpelt watched the kit before Lightningpelt came into the nursery, carrying a mole in his jaws. "Here you go, love," Lightningpelt murmured, thinking that his kit was asleep. "Thank you," Ravepelt mewed, rubbing against her mate as he sat down next to her, purring with her.
Lightningpelt heard a small squeak, and, when he looked down, saw that his kit was slowly moving towards him, almost as if he were afraid, his mothers tail behind him. "Hello," Lightningpelt whispered, letting his son crawl over to him, soon opening his eyes to reveal eyes that looked just like his mothers, now clear and full of curiosity. The kit looked down at Lightningpelts paws, and, with hesitation, reached out with a paw of his own, prodding the huge one in front of him before jumping back, expecting a reaction.
Lightingpelt purred with amusement as he let his son play with his paws, jumping on them and letting out the occasional squeak when he tripped, only to get on his paws again shortly after with more excitement. "He is so adorable!" Ravenpelt said as she ate, glad for the distraction her mate provided. "Yes, he is. What should we name him?" Lightningpelt asked, chuckling when he saw his son sit on his paws, looking up at his father with curiosity. Moving down to the kit's eye level, Lightingpelt blinked slowly, smiling slightly to his kit. "I was thinking of Silver; his pelt looks so beautiful," Ravenpelt said when she finished her meal, letting out a low mrrow of amusement when their kit prodded Lightningpelts nose with a tiny paw.
The kit let out a squeak when his father sneezed, running as fast as he could to his mother's side, looking at his father in fear, ears back with wide eyes. "Yes, I agree," Lightningpelt responded, laying down flat to look at his son again, the kit hiding behind his mother's foreleg, peaking around slightly. "Who is this little kit?" a new voice said, making the two older cats look to the entrance to see their leader there, a warm smile on his face as he gazed down at the small tom. "We named him Silver, Goldenstar," Lightningpelt informed his leader with a respectful dip of his head. Nodding back, Goldenstar welcomed the kit to the clan with a gentle meow, getting the kit to fidget with his paws. "I name him Silverkit, in honor of Starclan," Goldenstar said, making the kit a full member of the clan right then with the simple ceremony.
"Thank you, Goldenstar," Lightningpelt said, nodding again to his leader, Ravenpelt doing the same. "Rest well Ravenpelt," Goldenstar told the female, nodding to her before padding away, leaving the nursery only for Oakfern to come in, a grim look on his face.
"You have seen the kit?" Oakfern asked as his leader walked into the medicine den. "Yes; I can feel it. The kit is sent from Starclan themselves," Goldenstar nodded, his eyes thoughtful. "I agree. Starclan will watch over the kit," Oakfern mewed, his tone serious but kind. Nodding again to Oakfern, Goldenstar padded out of the den, moving to his own; he had things to think about.
