Chapter 4-Ziva

"I'm very disappointed in you Leo," A voice I recognized as headmaster Vain echoed through my clouded head,"you let her be harmed and right at the time when the full moon should be out. Do you know what this could do to her and the werewolf community."

"I'm sorry father. I didn't know it was there until she got hit by it." A rather startled Leo answered.

I got up from the bed I had been lain on, wincing at the unmanageable pain that followed. I looked around the room and was sure that it was about midnight by the dark shadows that projected themselves around me.

"You devil," the sound of a smack rang through my ears as I wondered if I had missed parts of the conversation. Spying was in my blood as I had been a raised as an assassin ever since I was taken in by the master.

Recognition spread through me as I realized who had been slapped. I got up from the bed, grimacing at every move I made and regretting even trying to follow my curiosity.

I listlessly walked to the half opened door and reluctantly stepped outside to find an alarming sight. A surprised Leo was on the floor with his hand covering his swollen cheek. His father towered over him with hate written all over his face. None of them realized I had seen them until I advanced an additional step. The look of horror that both of them had on their faces and was taken aback by how different they looked, as if they weren't father and son.

The headmaster stood there frozen in place before giving his son a last meaningful look before strolling away.

"How's your arm?" Leo asked with a soft voice.

I jumped back startled. Why was he being kind to me? The pain that I had forgotten was now back making me lean against the nearest wall. Sensing my agony, Leo got up from the hard floor and reluctantly helped me to the bed once more. I sat down on it, letting out the breath I had been holding from the effort it had taken me to get up. As I sat down, I felt the intensity of the wound decreasing.

New blood seeped through my wound unmistakably from the struggle I had just put up. My werewolf companion got up and came back in a few minutes with a first aid kit in his hand. It was odd for me to see that he cared but I smiled in spite of myself as he bandaged my wound.

"I'm only doing this because you took an arrow for me. Don't get the wrong idea," He answered my unasked question.

"Of course," I answered with a light tone of sarcasm hinted in my voice.

I looked towards my wound and found that it seemed to have shrunk. I must be hallucinating now, I thought with false delight. I was becoming unsure of my statement when the pain was greatly subsided. Leo on the other hand, didn't seem surprised. He quickly rounded the bandage over my injury and stepped back. I now no longer felt any severe pain.

"See you," He announced before making his way towards the door.

I reached towards his wrist, firmly gripping it, making him turn around.

"What did your father mean by the werewolf community?" I managed to say with some force in my voice.

"It's not important," He responded slowly.

"What do you mean, it's not important. It's about me. Maybe it's related with my forgotten past. Please tell me. I want to know," I responded with desired longing.

Before I had finished my sentence I found that my head felt that it had extra weight on it, perhaps ears, a silly thought made it's way into my head. My sight adjusted completely to the dark, making every detail clear to me. I looked back and found that Leo had a look of regret plastered across his face before he took out a small blue canteen. It wasn't often you saw Leo looking regretful.

"Here, Drink this first, then I'll explain,"

I followed his orders and drank the sweet liquid. Just as I handed it back to him, my body swayed and fell into his arms. My eyelids becoming too heavy for me to keep open any longer.

The full moon shown in it's cruel, vibrant blue light before I fell unconscious thinking sourly of Leo. It was true that he did not care after all. Right before, I closed my eyes, I thought bitterly that I had never seen a full moon before in my lifetime. Or as long as I remembered.
