Namara slammed the door to her room, propping a chair up against the door so no one could open it. Though she was sure if Steve tried to he could break the door off it's hinges. But she didn't think he would. 

 Jay's blue eyes were filling with tears, he didn't understand why Namara was so upset. She felt awful for scaring him, but she didn't have time to explain that he was going to spend the rest of his life as a failed experiment if they didn't get out quickly. 

  She pulled her backpack out from under the bed, as always, Namara was ready to leave in a hurry. Her bag was already packed with a change of clothes for both her and Jay, as well as fake passports and money. Namara's eyes were wild, like a cornered dog. 

 "Namara. What's wrong?" Jay was beginning to cry now. "What's happening? I'm scared."

"We're leaving. Now."

 Namara closed her eyes briefly, listening for the sounds of SHIELD agents beating in the doors and coming in to lock the two of them back up. 

She pulled the chair away from the door, pulling the bag over one shoulder. In her rush out, she collided with Steve's bulky frame and was nearly knocked over. Namara tried to shove him out of the way.

 "Move Steve!"

"Namara, wait!" Steve grabbed her wrist.

In a movement that she hadn't planned, that she hadn't though about Namara brought her other hand up, she felt her nails sharpening into claws. Like a dream, Namara saw herself rake her claws down Steve's arm forcing him to release her. Steve gave a rough shout of pain. 

  Jay screamed, but Namara ignored him, grabbing him and pulling him toward the window. She kicked it open, pulling Jay closed to her with one arm and then flinging herself out into open space.
