What are you doing you're going to kill them all, leave them disease, their deaths will be on your hands. I listen to the voices echo in my head screaming and yelling. My vampire is quiet as it is no longer separate from me.

Sitting in a meditative state I enter my mind as I would when I connect to the earth. I know they could die and I know each death would be partly my fault but fate makes the choice not me. You do not, will not control me. The voices quiet down, not gone but dimmed I am in control.

I hear the sheets move as Enya wakes up from her slumber. Looking up at the child she beams down at me from ear to ear the gold in her hair and eyes shining in the morning light.

"How do you feel this morning?" I ask getting off the floor.

She grins starting to slide down the latter "good I feel go..aa." She cries out falling the rest of the way down into my waiting arms.

"What's wrong? What hurts?"

She holds her once injured shoulder her eyes slightly teary. Pulling the shoulder of her shirt down my eyes widen at the sight. The bite wound has come back not as bad slightly healed but back nonetheless.

Pulling out a bandage from my bag I clean and wrap the bite. Holding her face in my hands I stare into her eyes from brown gold-flecked eyes to silver. "Do you feel warm? Cold? Pain anywhere else?" She shakes her head and then hesitates to nod. "Dam it, " I whisper running a hand through my loose hair.

Why does she seem to have the same feeling I did after I was bitten? What about the others? My head shoots up searching around the room for my weapons. Loading my belt with my sword and daggers I grab my back from the floor strapping on my bow. "Get your stuff we have to hurry, " at my command, Enya rushes around the small room dressing and packing her bag.

Once she has everything in order I braid her hair heading out the door well doing my own.

I hope the people are okay.

Skipping over the breakfast rush I grab a bagel and apple handing them to Enya as we pass by the table. The sight turned on I quickly find the humans I helped yesterday. Most are still in their rooms well some are outside.

Going to each of the people inside I have them meet us outside by the kid's playground well I go and get the rest. Soon around thirty or so people are at the playground. Most are scratching at their arms or holding their muscles tensed.

Enya stands beside me tense but overall more relaxed than the others. Whistling I call their attention "okay I don't know why this is happening to you but it has happened to me. If it is the same as me the overall pain and discomfort will disappear tomorrow night but you should try and move as much as possible so your muscles don't stiffen up too much."

They nod, the people who were sitting stand up and they all begin to walk around some going to do chores.

Two days later and Enya and the people are mostly back to normal. Enya says her vision is funky which is going by my timeline if she is getting what I have far sooner than I. Four days later and Enya is seeing light glowing around people. Human vision is starting to fluctuate and some of their eyes are changing.

I look up at the approach of familiar footsteps. Smiling I put the dirt I was checking down dusting off my hands. "What's up Jake?" I ask once he is in a comfortable hearing range.

"The people you healed are wondering what is happening to them. Most have been healed by a vampire before and this never happened to them before."

Looking over to a small group of them I see them rub at their eyes blinking rapidly. "I think it is happening because of what happened to me. I plan to go to Melanie's coven if they want I can bring them along?"

He nods "I will check with them, most might. Why are you going?"

Sighing I rearrange the dirt so it is back to being healthy. "I don't want your pack to get attacked again. That which has more people, her demon leader was not here. He was probably back at their main base and if he was there then she has more people."

He nods leaning against a tree "thank you for thinking about my pack's safety. If you don't mind me asking why does the witch want you?"

Chuckling I lean against the tree beside him "my best guess is power. The council is gone and so is most of the order if she has power on her side she can gain control over the supernatural more than the humans. There hasn't been controlled like that since the 1600s and you remember the stories."

He shivers at the mention of the war. "Don't remind me my mother use to tell me that story anytime I did something bad still scares me to this day."

Laughing we start to walk back to the packhouse "now I know what Lill can tell you when you misbehave."

He aims to punch my shoulder but I jump out of reach. "Don't you dare," he says. I laugh running ahead of him "hey I mean it don't you dare I won't hear the end of it."

That night after supper we all say our goodbyes to the pack. I hug Lillian, Kora, Allison, and Brekken promising to visit soon. After some sad and threatening goodbyes from Jake, Andrew, and Landin we head off.

Shadow thirty-plus people miles is tiring but soon we are standing at the mouth of a circular cliff face. "Wow," Enya whispers eyes the big rock and wood gates. Similar reactions come from the people behind us.

Smiling I walk forward pushing the gates aside. "Welcome to the sylvaine coven," I declare.

Gasps all around make my smile broaden. Inside people of all species mingle and work side by side proudly showcasing their species' talents. Witches use magic freely well vampires walk around helping out without being scorned. Both demons and angels traverse and mingle and the wolves walk around in both human and wolf forms.

Melanie gasps once she sees me at the gates. "Kaindra oh my goddess you're here," she shouts running over cheerily.

Her husband hears her shout spotting me coming over at a more calm pace "Kaindra what a joy."

I smile shaking his hand "Deric it's been a while now has the place been?"

He smiles "great we got some humans out in the town closest at the start of the zombies. They are fitting in well."

My eyes light up at the news. Melanie falls into me hugging the life out of me. Pulling away I pat her head. "Well speaking of helping people I have a group here that would like to join the group."

Melanie looks over my shoulder with the struggle at my taller height spotting the people. "Ohh where are my manners come in come in."

We all walk in closing the gates behind me Enya tugs the sleeve of my jacket "how close are the nearest towns?"

"Miles away but they have some witches here capable of teleportation to get to them." She nods her eyes flickering everywhere trying to take everything in.

The setup is pretty sweet, the coven has been here for more than a millennia building the place for all species supernatural and humans alike. Most of the buildings are made of rock and metal for fire and the houses are on the cliff face to save room. The only buildings are the barns and car sheds. Surprisingly they seem to have some nice solar-powered vehicles.

The whole place runs on natural energy and uses magic to assist but is capable of running without it. The place is huge maybe ten kilometres wide and twelve long but it is safe off the map and secure.

"Kaindra what are you doing here?" Ashlyn calls dusting off her hands.

"Ash hey, I came to drop off these people and I have something to discuss with your sister." She looks over at Melanie nodding. "Can you tell Cherise I said hi for me if I don't see her before talking to your sister?"

She nods, "she will be so excited to see you."

I smile "and me her. Oh and before I go can you watch Enya for me she knows Bella and the triplets but I think she might like Cherise."

She looks down at Enya waving "yeah I can I will give her the grand tour."

Enya smiles jumping forward to follow Ashlyn. Stopping she skips over to me "who is Cherise?"

Chuckling I pat her shoulders "Cherise is Ashlyn's partner you will like her plus Josh, Jaylin, and Everly are here." Her face lights up quickly going over to Ashlyn.

I wave as they walk over to chat. Melanie walks over beside me "are you guys staying?"

Looking at her I nod "I hope so but I have something I need to talk to you about," I said gravely.

Her cheerful self vanishes the leader comes. "Then we better get going I will send my daughter to join Enya to help get her aquatinted with everyone, lets's go."

Nodding I look at Enya one last time before following Melanie and Deric into her office. This is going to be a long talk. And a grave one.
