Chapter 63

Snapping the branches in my way I ignore the small cuts that mark my arms as they heal in seconds. That witch will regret the day she was born if she lays a hand on Enya and any of my friends. Two miles out I spot the glows of hundreds of bodies a mix of gold, black and red, blood red, blue, and dark reddish-orange. That bitch brought a pack of zombies, and by the speed she brought quicks.

Seven purple glows shine all over. Five around the border one with the wolves and one small one inside. Thank goodness Enya's inside. Growls and ripping skin come to my ears, it's a blood bath there. The metallic smell of blood wafts in the air coating this place.

Breaking through the trees I come to a stop behind a group of demons. They stand hiding in the shadows laughing at the pack of wolves fighting off the zombies. The shadows do not help them in the least as they are commanded by me.

Curling shadow hands around their feet I pull dragging them deeper into the forest. Their screams never leave their mouths as I rip off their heads disposing them behind me. Stalking around the group of demons and vampires I stop behind another group pulling them back and ripping off their heads.

I repeat this process a few more times thinning out the group by a few dozen. Looking into the pack grounds I see that most of the zombies have been dealt with. Come up to one of the witches guarded by half a dozen vampires and demons.

Grinning I climb a tree walking along its branches perching myself above the group. Stretching seven branches down I grab the vampires through the heart haling them up without a sound. Soon the branches are littered with dead vampires. Looking down I nod to myself happy with the smaller amount of people on the forest floor.

One of the demons looks around to see that no fellow vampire guards are there. He whispers to his friend beside him making the other demon look around. Waiting I grin as he calls out before disappearing with his friend into the trees blood dripping out of their mouths as they hang lifeless.

The others look around at their companions and shout finding their friends gone. They walk farther into the trees leaving the witch mostly unguarded, idiots. Dropping silently to the ground behind them I snap the closest demon to my neck. She falls to the floor dead. The others turn around at the noise spotting me.

Waving I grin "hello, lovely night for a blood bath yeah."

"Hughfmg," one of them says alerting the young witch behind me. Not waiting for a second longer I launch at them pulling out the sword at my waist. The black steel gleams in the dark making my grin widen sinisterly. Bodies soon litter the ground heads rolling off to the side.

The witch's eyes widen at the sight snapping my fingers the bodies in the trees fall to the ground. A wicked gleam shines in my eyes as I step over the bodies of the witch.

Holding the tip of my blade at her throat I look her over. Perfectly done-up blond hair with her grey witch streaks, clean clothes all smoothed out and bright, the perfect look of innocents. "Why are you here?" I snarl pressing the blade harder into her throat drawing blood.

"I-I."

"Talk clearly girl I don't have time for your stammering."

"I-I am just following or-orders...Nothing else." Her body quivers eyes locked on the dark blade. Peering into her eyes I see the glimmer of triumph. Snarling I remove the blade her body relaxes as the cool steel leaves her throat. "Thank you-" I don't hear the rest of her sentence as her head rolls at my feet.

"I don't like liars that much witch." Walking over her body I sheath my sword falling into the shadows once again. A dozen more groups later I stop at the next witch, again a dozen vampires and demons guard her.

Taking a different approach with this group I look around the area. No trees rest above them but they stand beside a small stream of water. Curling the water around the guard's ankles I drag them towards the water. They screech like little girls attempting to kick at the foe dragging them. "What the fuck," a demon says eyeing the water and dragging them.

"Witch help us what are you doing." They call out at the woman they were guarding.

She stands back observing the water dragging her guards towards the water. "I am doing nothing this is not within a witch capability's," she says deep in thought.

Not giving her much time to think I do one last big yank pulling them fully into the water. They flail around soaking their clothes just like I wanted. Blowing a small cloud leaves my mouth dropping the temperature of their bodies. They move faster trying to free themselves as their bodies slowly freeze.

Soon the blood in their bodies turns to ice and their movements seize. Stepping out of the trees I eye my work proudly. Their faces are pale almost white, lips blue, eyes locked open staring up at the night sky.

Focusing on the witch I wave my hand dropping my hold on them but keeping their bodies frozen. This witch is older than the last but still just as well dressed. Leaving my weapons at my sides I walk over to the witch stopping in front of her. "Why are you here?" I ask.

The witch watches me not answering "I don't have time for silence witch why are you here?" I ask again snarling.

She stops her observation looking at my red eyes "what are you?" She asks.

Not having the time for this I freeze her like the others leavening their dead bodies like the rest. The other two lower witches don't give me an answer all ending up dead like the rest of the bodies I leave behind me.

By now the pack is fighting the demons and vampires losing a few. Letting out a ferocious snarl I head to the head and last witch.

Stalking up behind her I don't even try to take out the guards first I just walk straight at them. The vampires around her snarl coming up to threateningly their demon friends behind them weapons were drawn. The witch raises a hand silencing them. "I knew you would come," she says turning her head to look at me. "Come stand with me," she waves me over.

Her minions part for me as I walk by I snarl at them showing my fangs. Standing beside her I watch as my friends pack fights. "Why are you here?" I demand.

She hums smiling at the sight before her "shh child you already know that."

I grumble swearing under my breath. "What do you want with me?"

She grins finally facing me. Her eyes widen when she looks at me. The shadows swirl lightly around me like a cape the only sign that I am not all that I seem. "What are you?" She whispers watching the shadows get denser and sharper.

"That is none of your busyness," I say taking a step back as she reaches out.

She shakes her head lightly smiling at me motherly "you already know that too child. I am so happy that you have finally reconsidered my offer we should go know then child come on." She raises a hand probably a signal.

I take another step back eyes darkening "I never reconsidered your offer and I never will, leave now."

The witch drops her hand her eyes slowly finding mine. "What did you say, child."

"I will never join you," I whisper harshly.

Her eyes darken as she takes a step closer to me. "You might want to reconsider. I keep my word I will do anything to make you join us. So think very very carefully with one snap of my finger all the fighters in these trees will attack killing everyone in this pack including that child you care about so much."

She raises her hand ready to snap. I take a step closer getting close to her face "and I keep my word I will never join you."

She grins wickedly waving her other hand at her guards. A person struggling comes closer as two guards drag a person closer. Looking over my eyes widen, Enya comes in being dragged roughly beside the witch. Her eyes are tear-stained and she has scratches all over her arms and legs.

Giving her a small smile I try to calm her down, blowing a gentle breeze over I cores her cheek with it and she calms down. "Now Kaindra will you join us now or do you want me to kill the pack next?"

Locking gazes with the witch I snarl fire in my eyes "never."

She sighs "their lives are on your shoulders." She snaps her fingers and nothing happens, snapping her fingers again she growls looking at her guards. "Where are they?"

The guards jump back eyes wild. I snicker catching the witch's attention "you mean all the people in the forest I killed including your other witches."

She roars making my grin widen "you little vampling you AHHH."

"What are you going to do now witch?"

She breathes heavily but stays silent. A minute later she starts cackling walking over to Enya she grabs her roughly pulling down the shoulder of her shirt showing a fresh bite mark, and not a vampire, a zombie. "Ohh little girl let's see you deal with this one."

Roaring the ground shakes the shadows of the night lashing out at the demons and vampires around me. Fire roars and the wind howls coming down on the ones attacking the pack. Every element comes alive attacking all of the witch's minions. Seconds later bodies and blood litter the ground in a blanket of death. The witch stands still holding Enya a protective shield around herself.

Her eyes are wide in wonder taking in the power I displayed. Marching forward I grab Enya pulling her away from the witch's clutches. The witch laughs in joy looking at me like I won her the world "now I know what you are child. I will return and when I do you will join me." The witch vanishes before our eyes.

The tension leaves my body as I fall to the ground clutching Enya in a death grip. She wiggles poking her head out of my grasp "you came back."

I nod brushing some loose tears out of her eyes. "I can't leave a sister behind."

She beams hugging me tightly. I hug her back just as tightly. I hear Jake, Andrew, and Landin come over with some of their pack warriors. Pulling away from Enya I gently move her shirt looking at the bite. She winces gazing at the wolves around us. Jake shifts grabbing clothes hidden behind bushwalking over.

"They got you good huh Enya," he jokes.

She laughs slightly wincing again. "I don't know if I can heal her or not," I say cleaning the blood around the wound.

Jake puts a hand on my shoulder squeezing gently "try."

I nod bringing my writs up to my mouth I bite down till I taste my black blood. Holding my hand up to Enya's mouth I nod. She hesitates for a second but concedes drinking two gulps of my blood. I watch as the wound on her shoulder heals sighing in relief.

"We have some other people that are hurt mostly humans that the witch got when they tried to keep her away from Enya," Jake says I nod getting the question he asked.

Standing up I hold Enya's hand as we walk over to the packhouse. Thirty minutes later everyone is healed and asleep. I assist in cleaning up late into the night burning the bodies and removing the blood from the grass. Tomorrow I will plan for what to do next as the witch is right she doesn't break her word she will come back. But that is an issue for tomorrow tonight I hunt for the first time in months relishing in the taste of fresh blood.
