My vision fades in and out of focus as the wall in my mind cracks. Grabbing at the wall I force it to stop, pushing the darkness back. Grabbing the new emotions I add them behind the wall locking them away I'll deal with them later. Pulling Enya back into me she begins to cry on my chest. "Shhh it's okay little one" my whisper seems to help somewhat as her shaking seizes.

Her head shakes in under my hand as she lifts her head. "It's not okay I was...supposed to protect them I fa-failed. I'm sorry Kai-Kaindra I understand if you do-don't want me around anymore." Her voice fades into a whisper between her hiccups.

Grabbing her face between my hands I gently tilt her face to look at me. Her eyes look anywhere but my face "little one look at me please." Slowly her eyes find mine I turn my eyes away focusing on the spot between her eyes instead. "Do I look angry at you?" She silently shakes her head never looking away from my eyes. "That's because I'm not, what happened was out of your control blaming yourself will only make you feel worse. Repeat after me I am brave I did everything I could I am brave."

I nod to her to repeat she takes a shaky breath "I...am...brave I did everything I could I...am brave."

"Again like you mean it."

"I... am brave I did everything I could I am...brave" her eyes sparkly a little as she says it.

"Again Enya you can do it better than that."

"I am brave I did everything I could I am brave"  her smile lights up chasing the darkness away.

I smile hugging her "yes you are the brave girl I know." She smiles brightly showing off her teeth. She looks around just now realizing we aren't alone. Her smile drops slightly as she shyly curls against me. Chuckling I tickle her sides she giggles pushing to get away.

Enya falls silent as she looks at the crowd fear falls onto her face. She dives into my side hiding in my jacket. Placing a hand on her head I try to make her look at me "little one what is it?"

She rubs her head on my side looking at me with fearful eyes. Raising her hand shakily she points to the group of demons and vampires. "They are the ones that killed my fa-family and attacked..."

Shushing her I pull her arm down leaning in closer "shh we don't want them to hear." I whisper I look over to make sure they didn't hear. They show no signs of hearing what Enya said, sighing I turn back to a shaking Enya. Placing a small sound barrier over us I lean back to Enya. "We have to stay calm okay can we do that?" Enya nods fear still shining on the front of her emotions.

"They are staying here with us we can't let them know that we know what they did okay? But stay away from them at all costs can you do that for me?" She nods again taking deeper breaths.

"Good now we can't have that face now can we where's your brave girl face?" I playfully pout poking at her cheeks. She giggles swatting my hands away she smiles cheekily at me showing me her biggest smile. "That's better, you look cold how about we go on inside to warm you up?"

She nods rapidly jumping off my lap I drop the sound barrier grabbing her hand. Enya's enthusiasm dies down once she sees all the other people again squeezing my hand. She leans into my side hiding behind me as we get closer to the crowd. She shrinks farther into my back once we pass the guards and she sees their weapons. I pat her hand lightly as reassurance, she smiles timidly up at me.

Sam, Liam, and Diana jog up beside me once we make it through the crowd. "Who's this Kain?" Sam asks smiling down at Enya.

"This is Enya I helped her and brought her to Bella's but something happened and she had to come here." I keep my answer vague giving them a pointed look promising more details later. They nod smiling at Enya their grief is still evident in their eyes but any distraction is welcome.

Sam bends down to Enya's level raising her hand for a shake "hey Enya my I'm Sam Kaindra's friend it's nice to meet you." Enya look's at me nervous at the strangers around her.

Nodding to her with a smile Enya hesitantly shakes Sam's hand. "Nice to meet you Sam" Sam's face brightens giving Enya some room.

Liam moves beside Sam rapping an arm around her "hi Enya I'm Liam." He waves smiling at Enya keeping his distance from the shy girl.

Enya waves staying pinned to my side, Diana walks to my other side staying a comfortable distance from Enya as her heart picks up speed at her approach. "This is Diana she is an angel" I whisper pointing to Diana at my side.

The said person waves to Enya smiling kindly. Enya's face lights up at the mention of another supernatural "you're an angel does that mean there are other witches' here Kaindra?"

"Yes there are dozens you will see other angles too," her shyness fades for a section as we continue walking.

Entering the warm building I guide Enya to the medical hall. Nichole stands at the desk waiting, she ran in once she saw Enya. Waving I great Nichole, following Nichole behind one of the curtains I Enya onto the table before stepping back giving Nichole room to do her job. "Hello honey, what's your name?" Nichole asks pulling out a clipboard and standing in front of Enya.

"Enya," she says quietly.

Nichole writes that down before beginning the standard questions. "How old are you Enya and when is your birthday?"

"Ten my birthday is July 3."

Nichole continues with the question before moving on to the examination. "Enya would you please remove your clothes."

Enya turns to me tilting her head "it's okay little one everyone has to do it when they come in."

reassured with my answer she takes on her clothes standing in her underwear. Goosebumps line her arms and legs in the chill. As Nichole moves closer and begins to check for any injuries her heart beats faster. Once Nichole steps back Enya lets out a small breath calming down. "You can get dressed now, Enya."

I turn to Nichole as she puts away her clipboard and stethoscope "is everything all good?"

"Yes everything is good she is just a little dehydrated from travelling, no frostbite luckily she might need some vitamins but a full plate of healthy food for a week should balance that out. judging from her condition she might not have travelled for long. But all alone it's a miracle she survived all this way."

I nod swallowing down how she survived Nichole is human she doesn't need to know. "Yes, it is a miracle a good one at that. Thank you, Nichole, do you have clothes she can change into? She needs new ones but I would like to get her cleaned first."

"Yes, I do you can wait in the chairs outside let me go and grab them." Enya jumps off the table grabbing my hand again as we leave the room into the waiting area. Nichole comes a few minutes later with a stack of clothes. "Here you go I also put in some conditioner to help get those knots out easier. I sent Enya's information out so you can get her registered into the base."

Smiling I take the clothes "thank you Nichole I will try and stop by sometime to catch up it's been a while."

"That would be lovely Kaindra I look forward to it. It was nice to meet you, Enya." Nichole waves as we leave getting back to work.

Guiding Enya to the closest showers I check the stalls to make sure no one else is there, they are all still at the funeral. Dropping the clothes and conditioner on the counters I drop my bag beside them. Enya follows me as I turn the tub at the back. One of the only bathtubs in the base. Turning on the water I make sure the temperature is comfortable before leaving it to fill up. "Can you take your clothes off little one we need to get you clean?"

Enya listens to me removing her clothes. I turn on the shower closets to the tub motioning for Enya to go under the warm water. "I thought I was going in the tub?"

"You are but we don't want the water to be really dirty, do we? Here you just need to rinse off some of the mud with this soap, it smells like bubble gum." At that, she rushes over grabbing the soap bottle and hurrying into the shower.

She finishes right when the bath finishes filling. "Time for the tub now" she smiles jumping into the tub and sinking under the water quickly. I wash her over getting all the spots she missed before washing her hair. She nearly falls asleep when I brush her hair rinsing the last of the conditioner out. "Time to get out of the tub before it gets cold."

She whines pushing herself to the far side of the tub "but it's so nice right now."

Smirking I bring my hand to hover above the water "not for long." I drop the temperate of the water a little making her squeak hurrying out of the tub.

She slumps in her towel watching as I drain the tub. "That was not fair," she whines drying herself off as she changes.

"It was completely fair we still have to get you registered and find you more clothes as well as where you are going to stay." She watches me ramble to myself running her hands through her brushed hair.

"I want to stay with you," I snap out of it hearing her sad mumble.

Kneeling in front of her I brush a strand of wet hair out of her face "if that is what you want we can do that."

She nods looking at her hair in deep consideration "can you cut my hair I don't like it this long it reminds me of what they did."

Nodding slowly I make some scissors kneeling behind her. Remembering how Bella showed me to cut hair I cut her hair just below her shoulders trying to keep it from looking flat but natural. Nodding at my handy work I melt the scissors brushing out her hair. Squinting I find the beginning of gold to shine at the ends of her hair.

"Hey, little on your high lights are beginning to show."

Putting the brush down Enya rushes over to the mirror looking at her hair squealing. Putting the conditioner on the counter I grab my bag calling to Enya "little one it's time to get you registered." Rushing to my side she grabs onto my hand letting me lead her down the halls.
