Ch. 42
Alx's P.O.V.
"You want me to announce her?"
"Yes." Chris nods.
That is not how I thought this would go. I need to give him credit.
"I can't."
"What do you mean, you can't?"
"I won't without talking to her. I'm not going to rush her."
"That's great and all. But you need to announce her."
"I'm not going to announce her without talking to her. And I'm most definitely not going to announce her in the state she's in."
"I understand, but I don't care. Alx. You need to announce her. You need to. It doesn't need to be officially. But she needs you. And she needs the pack to be on her side. I've done all I can. You're the only one who can help her right now. Yeah, it sucks to admit. But it's the truth. " Chris.
She needs you. She does, Doesn't she?
'I told you she would.'
"I won't force that on her."
"Alx, you wouldn't be forcing her to do anything. You just need to tell the pack that she's your mate. Because she is your mate. And you are her mate. It is not something that is going to change. It's not like you're some guy trying to be her boyfriend." Chris paceing the room. "You're her soulmate. You're meant to be together. At least I don't have to worry about you breaking her heart." laughing to himself.
"No, you don't have to worry about that." l laugh back at him.
"Please just tell the pack that she's your mate. The pack won't protect a human. Despite her efforts. But the pack will protect their Luna." Scratching his head. Adamant that this is the only way he can help her.
"You do realise that once I've announced her. The expectation is that she will move in with me." I don't think he's thought of that.
He freezes. "Yeah, I don't want to think about that. You and Shayla can discuss that among yourselves." Seeming to wave the thought from his mind.
"I will talk to Shayla. And I'll talk to the elders." I don't want to talk to them now. I don't think I can. Not without harming anyone.
"Don't talk to them now. You still have murder on your mind"
"Wasn't planning on it."
He laughs at that, a smile on his face. "You're not going to leave until she wakes up, are you?"
"No, I'm not. Neither are you?" I ask already knowing the answer.
"Nope."
"Get a chair and join me. It's going to be a long night."
Chris does just that.
Returning to my seat, I place a kiss on her hand. She looks so peaceful, even under the bandages. After I've spoken to her I'll call the elders. But until then. All I have to do is be here. Nothing else matters right now, just her.
