ENG: Corinthian canal, Greece

Aktualizacja (9.01.2020) PL: Kanał oddziela półwysep Peloponez od Grecji lądowej, czyniąc z niego wyspę, i łączy Zatokę Sarońską (Morze Egejskie) z Zatoka Koryncką (Morze Jońskie). Kanał ma długość 6,4 kilometra, przy szerokości zaledwie 21 metrów. Wysokość to jednak aż 79 metrów od poziomu wody do końca ściany. Ściana jest ścięta niemal równo, i patrząc z wysokości mostu czuć ogrom przedsięwzięcia. Przecina go 6 mostów, w tym most kolejowy i jeden most prywatny. Główny most dla ruchu samochodowego dla turysty wygląda niepozornie, gdy jedziemy nad półwysep autobusem możemy bez większego problemu przegapić tę przeprawę.

Update (9.01.2020) ENG: The canal separates the Peloponnese peninsula from mainland Greece, making it an island, and connects the Saronic Gulf (Aegean Sea) with the Gulf of Corinth (Ionian Sea). The canal is 6.4 kilometers long, only 21 meters wide. However, the height is as much as 79 meters from the water level to the end of the wall. The wall is cut almost evenly, and from the height of the bridge you can feel the enormity of the enterprise. It is crossed by six bridges, including a railway bridge and one private bridge. The main bridge for car traffic for tourists looks inconspicuous, when we go to the peninsula by bus we can easily miss this crossing.
