a knock on the door startled taeyong who was desperately looking for a file. "come in!"
jaehyun entered his office, surprised at the sight: taeyong was sat down on the floor, in front of a cupboard, with dozens of files around him. "hum... tae?"
the leader scratched his head and looked at the man who had entered.
"what are you looking for?"
"a file, i can't- anyway, what did you want to tell me?" the leader asked, raising to his feet.
jaehyun closed the door and approached the leader. "what's going on with mark?" he whispered.
"yeah... mark..." taeyong rubbed his temples. "mark... mark... mark..."
jaehyun put his hands on his leader's shoulders to stop his agitation. "taeyong, you're stressed." he stated. "that's not usual."
"of course, i'm stressed jae. the file disappeared."
jaehyun didn't seem to understand what the other meant. "no file can disappear tae, we have them all in the computers." he tried reassuring his leader.
"we have them all except one!" taeyong yelled. "and this file has disappeared."
jaehyun sighed. "i'll help you find it, but i really need to know what is going on with mark."
"mark! you're right! mark!" taeyong yelled in excitement before dashing out of his office towards mark's room. he entered without knocking, jaehyun on his heels.
mark was in his room, sitting on his chair, a hand out of the window and a cigarette in it.
"taeyong-" he said rising to his feet, crushing his cigarette in an ashtray.
"mark!" taeyong exclaimed. "mark, please, tell me you have it."
jaehyun still didn't understand anything of what was happening.
"taeyong... i really need to tell you something." mark said in a serious tone.
taeyong started sweating. "y-yes, g-go on..."
"yesterday night, i-i wanted to have information about him, you know. after you told me how important it was and all... i wanted to know what made him so special. i looked through the whole house, and i didn't find the file..."
taeyong gripped his hair tight, muttering many curse words.
"guys, i don't understand anything... whose file disappeared?" jaehyun asked, an eyebrow raised. the answer had him in the same panic as his two friends.
"LEE DONGHYUCK'S" taeyong and mark screamed at the same time.
XXXXXXXXXX
the weekend had gone very well. donghyuck had stayed all time at renjun's, both had gotten out on saturday and sunday to meet up with the chinese's boyfriends. donghyuck felt a bit like a fourth wheeler when he was staying with the three of them, but honestly, he didn't mind.
now was monday afternoon, and the four boys were at a park, enjoying the sunny weather.
"jenooo!" renjun whined, tugging on his boyfriend's sleeve.
"yes?" jeno answered ruffling his boyfriend's hair.
"can you help us with the computer science homework please?"
jeno was the top student in computer science. normal you would say... the boy had already hacked twice the school's system. he had a talent, and renjun and donghyuck, who were two no-goods in terms of computer science, would always ask him to do it for them. no that he minded though. the exercises were really easy for him.
the four boys stayed at the park to watch the sun set and finally got back home when the night was more and more dark.
as soon as donghyuck put a foot in his house, he received a call from renjun.
"yes?"
"oh my god, i'm so relieved you're here." the chinese's voice sounded happy.
"what are you talking about?"
"i don't know, haven't you seen anybody strange or things like that?"
"it happened once, and it was late at night. it's not even 8:00pm now!"
"yes... yes, i know, i just wanted to be sure you were good."
"thanks, junnie, i'm all good."
"okay, have a good night then. see you tomorrow."
"see you, bye." donghyuck hung up.
he prepared his dinner, ate in front of his computer which was displaying a random tv show. he then washed the dishes and tidied the room. after that, he got to the bathroom and showered and brushed his teeth.
deciding it would be better to watch the end of his show in bed, he headed to the living room to take the device. when he arrived there, the lights switched off.
"great. no more electricity..." he mumbled.
he switched on the flashlight on his phone and got to see the electric meter. he touched some buttons, and finally managed to put the light back on. he sighed in relief, going back to his previous activity: taking his computer to watch it in bed.
except that... he wasn't alone at home anymore...
"hello hello donghyuck."
there were three men in the middle of his living room, one of them holding a gun pointing at his head. donghyuck screamed in fear, but quickly had his mouth covered by a piece of cloth that had a strange scent. he tried struggling but he felt himself weakening every second, until the figures of the men in his house became a blur, their voices an echo, and then everything got black.
