(A/N – Hey guys! :) This is just a short disclaimer. Usually I don't do these but I just know that if I don't address this now the comments are going to explode with people saying 'Ugh! Rick Riordan says Nico's birthday is January 28 1924 you got it wrong!' 'Even though it wasn't in the book Riordan still says Nico's birthday is January 28th!' 'You must not know Nico very well if you got his birthday wrong.' YES! I know when Nico's birthday is! Although not said in the books Rick Riordan came out saying that Nico's birthday is January 28th 1924. I will also say that we are only given a rough estimate on how long Nico and Bianca were in the Lotus Hotel. They say about 70 years so I'm going with 70 exactly. That just makes the math a bit easier. And I'm going with the current year 2016. Well I'll be stepping off my soap box now! :) Enjoy the story!)

An alarm went off breaking the silence of the Hades cabin. Nico di Angelo son of Hades groaned as he rolled over and put a pillow over his head to block the noise. By no means was he a morning person. He finally gave up and knocked his alarm clock off the night stand then opened up a hole to the underworld beneath it. He wouldn't be seeing that alarm clock any time soon. Reluctantly he crawled out from under the covers and got out of bed.

Usually he wouldn't be putting himself through torture like this given that breakfast at camp doesn't start till 8:00 and even then he usually skips breakfast to get in a bit more sleep. However, today was not your average day today was October 31st Nico's least favorite day of the year. Sure you might think that being a son of Hades Nico would like all of the creepy things that happen because it's Halloween.

It's not that he disliked Halloween he just hated how much extra work it gave him. Because of the rotation of the moon (or something like that. Even his dad wasn't exactly sure.) The gates of the underworld were at their weakest on Halloween. That's why mortals came up with all of these ghost stories for October 31st. People would see souls that had escaped from the underworld and decided to have a little fun. Of course this meant that someone would have to bring them all back. Every year Hades put all hands on deck so that they could keep as many souls from escaping and those that did they would get them back as quick as possible.

But that wasn't the only reason Nico hated October 31st. If it was just Halloween he would probably be ok with it but there was more. It was his birthday. Now you're probably thinking 'why would anyone ever hate their birthday?!' It was because it reminded him of how Bianca would always try to make a big deal out of his birthday. He would always pretend to hate it but he secretly loved it. Now that she was gone he didn't have anyone to celebrate with so he didn't see the point in telling anyone it was his birthday. He didn't even think Chiron knew.

Nico quickly got changed and got the things he needed to capture souls. As a child of Hades he was able to sense where escaped souls were. Once he was sure he had everything he shadow traveled to the place of the first escaped soul.

~time skip~

"Festus! A little more to the left!" Leo, Piper, and Jason stood around while Festus moved a giant pole into place. "Nice Work!" The giant dragon landed and Leo gave him a pat on the head.

"Wow!" Annabeth came walking down the hill and looked around. "You guys this is looking great! Just wait till Percy and the others see it!"

"Agggghhhhhhh! Blackjack no! Too fast!" they all looked over and saw a black blur quickly crashing to the ground. They all giggled as Percy stumbled out from under one of Blackjack's wings. "I know I told you I would give you a donut when we got back but does that mean you had to crash land to get us here faster?!"

Blackjack let out a snort that meant 'Sorry Boss. But can I have my donut now?'

Percy just sighed and handed him a donut from his pocket. "It would be a bit less crumbly if we hadn't crashed! Why don't you go get cleaned up before the bonfire tonight. The Hunters of Artemis are coming over and they're supposed to be bringing Pumpkin cookies. If you're good maybe Thalia will give you one." Blackjack let out a snort of glee before flying off. "Hey guys!" Percy waved as he walked over to the others.

"Hey!" Jason greeted. "Where are Frank and Hazel?"

"They're coming." Percy assured "Blackjack just got a little over excited and flew ahead of Guido and Porkpie."

Suddenly the sound of hoofs could be heard on the ground as the two other Pegasus' landed. "Here we are!" Hazel called as her and Frank would over to everyone. "Wow..." she looked around at all of the decorations. "You guys did a great job!"

"Thanks!" Piper smiled at her. "Festus was a big help."

Festus snorted as Leo gave him a pat of the head. Suddenly a clanking noise was heard to his left. They looked over and saw a table bouncing up and down. Leo laughed "Yes Buford you helped too." Everyone started laughing.

"So where's Nico?" Frank asked looking around. "I figured this kinda of thing would be right up his ally."

Percy chuckled "You know Nico. He loves his sleep. He won't wake up until noon sometimes if he can help it."

"But don't forget he talked about all that stuff happening in the Underworld tonight." Annabeth reminded "he's probably busy with that."

"Oh that's right..." Hazel remembered "I wonder if he could use some help..."

"I'm sure he'll be fine." Jason assured "I'm sure he'll be back in time for the bonfire."

"Hello everyone." They all looked around to see Chiron.

"Hey Chiron!" Percy greeted. "You got here just in time! We just finished decorating for the Halloween Bonfire tonight!"

Chiron looked around and smiled "You all did an excellent job. But that's actually what I'm here for. I wanted you all to do a favor for me."

"Sure." Jason quickly answered "What do you need us to do?"

"Fight off an army of giants and defeat mother nature? Cause we kinda already did that." everyone turned around and glared at Leo.

"How about finding who stole Zeus' lightning bolt and return it to him before the summer solstice. All while the father of the gods is rising from the dead?" Leo laughed and gave Percy a high five while Annabeth just face palmed.

Chiron chuckled "No unfortunately I don't have any deadly quests to save the world for you at the moment but it is still of utter importance."

"What do you mean 'unfortunately'...?" Jason gave Leo a quick punch in the shoulder "What?! Is he saying he wants us to get killed on a deadly quest to save the world? I feel like that would kind of be a nice thing to know!"

Piper rolled her eyes "Just ignore Leo."

Chiron smiled "I see that you all are great friends and really support each other. So I wanted to see if you had any plans for Nico tonight."

"Huh?" Percy raised an eyebrow.

"Well I wanted to see if there was anything I could help with to make Nico feel special." Chiron continued "Like all of you Nico played a big part in defeating Gea so as a thank you I wanted to help out with anything you might be planning."

They all looked at each other "Chiron..." Hazel spoke for the group "What are you talking about?"

Chiron looked between them "You do know today's Nico's birthday right?" he got the answer to his question when all of their eyes got big with shock.

Nico sighed. It was only noon and he'd already recaptured a hundred souls. He still had a busy night ahead but he just had to rest for a bit. He shadow traveled back to camp right as lunch was starting. He sat down alone at the Hades table and worked on some paper work his dad had him doing. During this day and age the rate of people dying had skyrocketed. This meant that more and more people had to be sorted into their places in the underworld. Nico had been really happy when his dad trusted him with the job of taking on some cases but now he frankly hated it. He literally had to read through peoples entire lives and decide whether they would go to the fields of Punishment, Asphodel, or Elysium. It was very tedious.

~time skip~

After Chiron had told them that it was Nico's birthday the Seven instantly decided that they would make this the best birthday Nico had ever had. Percy looked over and saw Nico was sitting by himself as they walked into the mess hall. He looked over at Chiron and gestured at Nico. Chiron understood and got up to make an announcement. "Sense today is a holiday you're all aloud to sit where ever you want." Everyone instantly got u and started to move to sit with their friends while the Seven carried their food over to the Hades table.

"Hey Nico! Happy Halloween!" Percy greeted as they all sat down.

"Can I help you with something?" Nico continued to red through his reports.

"Nothing in particular we just thought you looked lonely!" Hazel read the papers over his shoulder "Whatcha workin' on?"

Punishment, Punishment, Asphodel, Punishment... Nico kept marking names off the list. "Paper work for dad."

"That's cool." Leo noted. "You know Nico..." he smirked "I've been wondering for awhile how old you were."

Nico's hand froze in the middle of a sentence. There was no way possible that Leo Valdez of all people could have figured out his birthday. He played of his reaction by erasing the last line he had written. "Hmm. Not sure I lost track. I'll have to do the math sometime."

Leo looked at him strangely "How do you lose track of how old you are?"

Nico shrugged "I was never good at math. Well if you don't mind..." he looked down at his watch "Looks like my lunch break's over." And just like that he shadow traveled to his next destination.

Frank rolled his eyes "How could he be on his lunch break if he didn't even eat anything?"

~time skip~

Nico sliced through another escaped soul. It disappeared with a loud hiss. "That makes... 250..." he panted. He had been doing this all day and the shadow traveling plus physical exercitation was finally starting to get to him. He looked down at his watch right as it turned to eight. "Just a few more hours..." he shadow traveled to the next soul.

~time skip~

"I think everything's ready." They all stepped back and admired their work. In a matter of hours the Seven had transformed the dark and dreary Hades Cabin into a lively party.

"Look what Connor and Travis gave me!" Leo came running in with a bag of noise makers.

Annabeth took the bag "Do I want to know why the Stoll brothers had these?"

Leo smirked "They said they used them to annoy Clarisse and her boyfriend Chris when they're on dates."

"And how are they not dead yet?" everyone laughed as Percy took a noise maker. "Well I guess all we have to do now is wait for Nico to get back. Who else is coming?"

"Just Chiron, Will and Thalia when the hunters get here." Annabeth answered "She said they were running a bit late but would be here soon."

"Sounds good." Now they waited.

~time skip~

Nico stumbled as he sliced through another soul. He was starting to get really tired. He looked down at his watch and he let out a sigh of relief. It was finally midnight that meant no more souls escaping. He leaned against a tree but quickly started to fall backwards. He cursed in Italian as he looked down at his hands. Usually you weren't supposed to be able to see through them. He sighed all he needed was one more trip then he could sleep for the next month.

~time skip~

Nico shadow traveled into Camp and immediately felt a sense of weightlessness. He looked down and saw he had traveled to eight feet in the air. He came crashing down with a large 'crack'. "Ow..." he rolled over onto his back and saw his wrist had snapped. "That's just great..." he slowly stood up and started making his way to his cabin.

Once there he opened the door and limped inside. The room was pitch black but he was used to that. When he tripped over something he finally decided he should turn on the lights. With a snap of his fingers the lights came on and there stood... "What in Hades...?"

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled and confetti started falling everywhere.

Nico just blinked "Why are you in my room?"

"It's a birthday party silly!" Leo grinned.

Nico tried to come up with an intelligent response "Huh?"

Chiron chuckled a led Nico to a seat at a table piled with presents. "After all your hard work in the war with the Giants and with the Titans for that matter, we wanted to do something for you."

"Really it was nothing..." Nico tried to stand up but Percy pushed him back down.

Thalia set a cake in front of Nico while will put a party hat on his head. The cake was decorated with different types of skulls and other creepy things. Nico actually kind of liked it. "How many candles should I put in?" Nico looked over to Leo who was holding a pack of candles. "There's supposed to be one for however old you are. So what 16?"

Nico looked down at the tiny package and did something that surprised everyone in the room. He started laughing. And not just a little chuckle but full out laughter. "I... don't think you have enough!" he panted as tears started to fall from his eyes as he grinned.

Leo looked at the package "But there are 24 in here."

Nico smirked "Who ever said I was under twenty four?" Chiron and Annabeth smirked as well, they knew where Nico was going with this. Percy however was still oblivious. Nico looked over to Annabeth "Can you subtract 1924 from 2016 please? I stink at math."

She smiled "That should be... 92."

Nico turned back to Leo "Sorry looks like you're... 68 candles short."

Leo looked down at the candles then back to Nico "You're 92 years old?!" Nico nodded "Dude... You've gotta take me to an R rated movie!"
