author note: happy birthday nico! enjoy this short little chapter! 

1st person pov (wills pov)

     it's nico birthday! I got everyone to plan a surprise party for my death-boy-boyfriend, were doing it in the big house in Chiron's room, it was the only place nico never goes, nico likes going in the big house living room to read sometimes, so we couldn't have it there. so we decided to have it in Chiron's room, with his permission of course. we blew up black balloons and put little skeleton lights up, it looked very creepy, nico will love it!

     we also added black table clothes on the tables, percy had his mom make a skeleton cake even though percy wanted it blue, I hope nico likes his party. 

     to keep nico occupied I told him we were hanging out and having the whole day be one giant date, so that's where we are now, walking around Paris because even though I told him no, nico shadow traveled us there.

     "Could we go to the top of the Eiffel tower?" I asked nico, holding his hands.

     "Sure." nico answered, "except we'll have to walk up there because it's not dark enough to shadow travel."

     "Good, because we're not shadow traveling anymore," I replied.

     "so we're staying in pairs then?" nico asked, "because there's no way to get back to camp half-blood by tonight without shadow traveling."

     "you have a skeleton butler." I pointed out.

     "We wouldn't make it back by night." nico argued. "and he's not a butler, he's a chauffeur." 

     "fine, we can shadow travel, but only to get back home at camp half-blood."

     "deal." nico said, "unless,"

     "no, do not say unless, no shadow traveling," I replied.

     "I was going to say unless there is a monster attack and the only way to stay alive is to shadow travel away." nico argued.

     I thought it over, "fine." I grumbled.

     "Good." nico replied.

     we then started walking up the Eiffel tower, it was beautiful, when we arrived at the top we looked over Paris, it was very romantic.

     I turned to nico and took his hands, it was just us up here, "happy birthday nico, I love you so much." I kissed him on the lips.

     "I love you too will." nico replied, he then went on his tippy toes and kissed me on the lips.

     I looked at my wrist and saw that it was time for the birthday party.

     "We should probably head back to camp," I told nico.

     "do we have to?" nico asked.

     "yeah," I answered.

     "fine," nico said, "hold on."

     after he said that I felt the darkness grab me, nico has gotten better at his powers where he only feels slightly dizzy when traveling, unless he does it too much in a row then he still passes out.

     we arrived in the hades cabin and saw ben sitting on his bed reading a book.

     "Good, you're back, chiron wants to see you both in his room," ben told us. (i made him say that so then we could get nico into Chiron's room, I'm a genius!)

     "Alright." nico shrugged.

     the three of us then walked to the big house and opened the door, "surprise!" everyone yelled.

time change...

1st person pov (nico's pov)

     as we entered Chiron's bedroom everyone in camp jumped out and yelled 'surprise!', I jumped back but quickly regained my balance and pretended like nothing happened.

     "happy birthday nico!" everyone yelled.

     I turned to will, "what is this?" I asked.

     "It's a birthday party nico! for you!" will asked.

     "Oh." I replied, I have never had a birthday party before, at least none that I can remember, "thanks will."

     "you're welcome." will said.

     we then started partying.

time change...(same pov)

     after we partied for about an hour, (i must say a birthday party is kinda fun. don't you dare tell will I said that!) then my dad shadow traveled into the room, he had a bunch of gifts in his hands.

     "dad?" I asked, "what are you doing here?"

     my dad hugged me, why he did I don't know I was very confused.

     "you think I would miss my son's birthday?" my dad asked.

     "yes," I answered pulling out of the hug.

     my dad pulled me into another hug, Don't ask me why I don't know, I'm still very confused.

    "happy birthday nico!" my dad exclaimed.

     my dad then pulled out the hug and walked to the DJ area, he whispered something to the DJ, and then the music that was playing changed, the music that was now playing, 'single ladies' except instead of ladies its singing hades, my dad started dancing around the rooms.

     I facepalmed, "oh my gods no." I said embarrassed.

     "Will!" my dad called, "come join!"

     will looked at me and smile, "Don't you dare!" I threatened.

     "Sorry." will smiled, he then ran and joined my dad dancing on the dance floor, tonight is so embarrassing!

time change...(same pov)

     it was the next day, besides when my dad came and embarrassed me the party was fun, I'm very thankful my glow-in-the-dark boyfriend set it up.
