1. the Demeter kids are the best chefs out of all the campers.

2. I've talked about this before in my baby nico chapters, but, will is super clumsy, like you can't look at the blonde boy without seeing some type of injury on him.

plot: it's Ben's birthday!! ethan (Ben's best friend) and lilly (Ben's other best friend) decide to plan Ben a birthday party with the help of everyone in camp, can they do it? or will Ben end up spoiling the surprise?

1st person pov (Ben's pov)

     IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! today is my birthday April 7th I am now eleven years old! what makes this birthday the best one yet is that I get to spend it at Camp Half-Blood with my friends and family. after the whole, ethan got kidnapped by Zella situation, ethan told me that he was planning on coming here for my birthday (and his). nico and I had shadow traveled to new york so I could get ethan a gift.

     "I think we should throw ethan a birthday party," I told nico as I was grabbing ethans favorite candy, snickers.

     "oh really?" nico asked me.

      "yeah," I answered, "ethan told me he's never really had a real birthday party before."

     "same." nico replied gravely.

     I stared at nico, "You've had one birthday party." I told him, "And yes, I know. you've had a deprived childhood, but will and I plan to fix that."

     "Don't." nico said.

     I rolled my eyes at him, "Back on the birthday subject for ethan, do you think the birthday party is a good idea?"

     "no." nico said.

     "why not?" I asked.

     "not sure." nico shrugged, "let's get back to camp."

     and with that, we paid for the stuff and headed back to camp.

1st person pov (ethan's pov)

     lilly and I had the greatest plan ever. to elaborate, today is Ben and mine's birthday so lilly and I planned to throw him a birthday party, so when Ben was sleeping last night lilly and I ran around camp telling everyone about our plan, and everyone agreed to it.

     so early in the morning when nico and Ben left camp, we started decorating the big house, we wanted to do the whole camp but nico told us that Ben shouldn't take that long at the store so we decided to play it safe and just do the big house.

     it was right after lunchtime when nico and Ben got back. Ben ran straight into the infirmary as nico walked over to where lilly and I were sitting.

     "how's it looking?" nico asked us.

     "we've got it almost all completely decorated, ethan and I just have to make the cake now," lilly answered.

     nico raised an eyebrow, "Do you guys know how to make a cake."

     "Absolutely no clue." I told him, "But if we follow the direction it should be fine."

     "Okay then." nico replied.

     lilly and I then ran off to the kitchen to get started on the cake.

pov change...

1st person pov (Ben's pov)

     when nico and I arrived at camp I ran straight to the infirmary to ask Will about my birthday party idea.

     "hi will!" I greeted.

     "hi ben, do you need something?" will asked.

     "yes," I told him.

     "Okay, what do you need help with?" will questioned.

     "I want to throw a birthday party for ethan seeing as he's never had one, but when I asked nico if it was a good idea nico told me no but he won't tell me why, so now I'm asking you, do you think throwing a birthday party for ethan Is a good idea or not?" I rambled

     will tensed, "um, no."

     "Why?!" I asked.

     "look I'm sorry Ben, I'm very busy. maybe ask someone else." will said.

     I looked around the empty infirmary, "there's no one here."

     will looked around nervously, "I have to do paperwork."

     will started pushing me out of the infirmary, "I'm sorry Ben," I was now standing outside of it, "ask someone else."

     will then slamed the door in my face.

pov change...

1st person pov (ethan's pov)

     we should've had someone older help us... lilly and I are not good at making cakes, and here's why. lilly has dyslexia and I gave her the job of reading the instruction's to me...not a good idea.

     the kitchen was a mess, but he did have a cake, it just looked horrible and not very appetizing. lilly and I were cleaning off the flour from the wall when Percy walked in.

     "what happened in here?" Percy asked, "Did yall have to fight a flour monster or something?"

     "ha-ha." lilly said to Percy, "Are you going to help us save Ben's cake or will ethan and I throw you under the bus for the cake looking ran over?"

     Percy raised his hands in defense, "Chill, ill get the Demeter cabin."

     Percy then ran out of the kitchen and returned with the whole Demeter cabin seconds later. we then started re-baking the cake.

pov change...

1st person pov (Ben's pov)

     I headed into the athena cabin to ask annabeth about my party idea since she's really smart. I just hope she won't dismiss me as everyone else has been.

     I knocked on the athena cabin door and it was answered by Annabeth.

     "hey ben, are you looking for Julia?" annabeth asked.

     "no," I answered, "I wanted to ask you a question."

     "Okay, shoot." annabeth told me.

     "I want to throw ethan a birthday party for his birthday today but both nico and Will told me no, but they won't explain why they said no, so I was hoping you could tell me if it's a good idea or not." I rambled.

     "Ben, I think you should-" annabeth started, suddenly Frank called for her.

     "hey, annabeth! come over here and help me for a sec!" 

     "on it!" annabeth yelled back, "See you later Ben!"

     annabeth then ran off, I sighed exhausted, and headed to the Hades cabin.

pov change...

1st person pov (ethan's pov)

     after a couple of hours of getting screamed at by the Demeter cabin and getting covered in flour (for a second time) the cake was done, this time it looked perfect. it was now time for the party.

     I got dressed in a new outfit for the party and was told that Ben was in the Hades cabin, so, I left the kitchen and made my way to the cabin.

     I knocked on the door and was answered with a, "Come in."

     I listened to the voice and entered the cabin, I saw Ben on his bed reading his book.

     "Happy birthday," I told him.

     "same to you." Ben replied, he then noticed my outfit, "What are you all dressed up for?"

     "Follow me," I answered.

     "Why?" he asked.

     I grabbed Ben's hand and just started dragging him, "come on!"

     I pulled him all the way to the big house, when we were outside the door I turned to face him.

     "close your eyes," I told him.

     "What?" Ben asked confused.

     "close your eyes," I repeated.

     "Why?" Ben questioned.

     I sighed, "Will you just close your eyes?"

     Ben smiled, "Fine."

     Ben closed his eyes and I opened the door, I pushed Ben inside the big house...

     "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN!!!!!!" everyone screamed.

     Ben opened his eyes, "So this is why everyone was dismissing my question earlier today."

     "what question?" I asked him.

     "I wanted to throw you a birthday party since you've never had one and I asked, nico, will, and Annabeth, if it was a good idea or not," Ben explained.

     I hugged Ben, "Thank you."

     "oh!" Ben exclaimed pulling out of the hug, "ill be back!"

     Ben then ran out of the big house, I looked at nico who just shrugged back. Ben arrived seconds later with a basket in his hands, I had all of my favorite things inside.

     "This is awesome!" I told him, "Thank you!"

     we then started partying. the birthday party lasted until one am when Chiron and Mr d made everyone go to bed. the next day my dad and I went back onto the sea after saying goodbye to my friend. I can't wait till the next time we meet.
