Nico leaned in and kissed Hazel's forehead. He couldn't believe he was doing this. Him and Hazel are pretending to be a couple because she's trying to avoid her actual crush, Frank. She's scared of getting attached to him since Frank is moving away this summer, but there's no way anyone actually believes them. It's an idiotic idea, but they didn't have any better ideas.

"Morning, babe," Nico said, putting way too much emphasis on the babe. He wanted to burst out laughing from how uncomfortable it made him.

"Sweet home alabama..." Hazel mumbled, then lifted her eyebrows, "Oh, I, uh- mean- Heyyyyyyy, Neeks!" She punched his shoulder gently, as if she were joking.

Nico sighed. This is terrible.

But, to their surprise, some people were buying it. Though they were siblings, despite Hazel being Biracial, they looked incredibly different. No one believed they were siblings. So, when they started this false rumor, it was easy for others to grasp, much easier than them being siblings unfortunately.

Nico took a deep breath, sitting next to Hazel. He leaned in, "I think we're safe to stop now."

Hazel exhaled, "Thank GOD. I hope people didn't seriously think we were dating."

Nico bit the inside of his cheek, declining to comment. He hoped so too, obviously, but he felt like some people actually did.

"At least Frank isn't interested anymore..." Hazel sighed, sadly looking down at her desk.

Nico nudged her, "Look at the bright side. Now you can go find your true love."

Jokingly, she pinched Nico's cheeks, "Awwwww, you!"

Nico scoffed, sticking his tongue out and pulling away. Hazel started cracking up.
