3 months later

"Nick!  Can you get that insect pie, right there?" Neil called as he struggled to pull food from the garbage.

Our family lives on the street now.  After Poppa left, Mommy couldn't pay the rent and we were kicked out.  We live under a bridge now, in the poor part of Zootopia.

We hardly had enough money to buy food, so we got food from the garbage.  We took turns going.  We had to go in pairs.  Nunzi and Mommy didn't do it at all.  Nunzi is to young and Mommy is to sick to leave.  Neil and I were on scavenging duty this week.  Nolani had a break.

I grunted and climbed up onto Neil's back then grabbed the pie.  It wasn't in that bad shape, only enough for Mommy and Nunzi to eat though.  As I inspected it, Neil seemed to find something that caught his eye.

"Blueberries!" Neil yelled,"From the Hopps farm."  he pointed to the name on the label.

I licked my chops and took the blueberries, putting them in the small cart that Neil and I were using to carry our food.

We had blueberries, insect pie, carrots, and tomatoes.  It was enough.

I started to walk back to the bridge, when Neil stopped me,"Hey Nick!"

"Yeah?"

"Look, there's a $20 bill on the ground," he pointed to the middle of the street,"I'll go get it!  Then we can buy some medicine for Mom or something!"

"Wait Neil!  Watch for the cars!"

"I've got it!"

I watched as Neil ran across the road, narrowly missing a car and pick up the money, then he ran back,"I got it!"

"We can buy food!"

"Or medicine!"

"Or diapers!"

"Ew!  That's disgusting Nick!"

"What?  Nunzi needs a few!"

"Let's buy it all!"

"Yeah!"

We walked into the nearest shop, but were met with a surprise.

"Poppa?"
