The sun was blazing through the black blind on the circle window. Nick was lying beside me with his eyes wide open, looking directly at me.
"Morning." I sighed and rubbed my eyes.
"Good morning."
I immediately smelled food and was on full alert.
"You made food?" I asked excitedly and he nodded.
"I did. Because you're always goddamn hungry."
"Talk about yourself." I nudged him and he sniggered. He was wrong, Nick ate the most half the time even though he hadn't a prick of fat on him.
I went to get up but a sharp pain struck the bottom of my back. I groaned and laid back down.
"Remember last night?"
"Hell, I forgot and that's why I can barely walk." I groaned again and remembered how last night went.
His nails dug into my skin, the burning sensation was pleasurable. I screamed at the pain but pleasure I was experiencing and with the lips of Nick on mine.
Nick walked in with a tray of food with a few pills on it, my face turning into a smile. I felt starving, almost like I hadn't ate in a few days. He set the tray down and by the time I devoured it, Nick was changed and all.
The pills had already kicked in and by then I was gladly able to walk. Both of us took a small walk down to a lake which ran over some pebbles and a few fallen branches from trees over it. Leaves were carefully being trailed down the lake and out more into the river.
Nick brought a pack of beer but my stomach wasn't quite up for it. We sat down on a log while making small talk.
"I'm still tired." I yawned and set the beer over to Nick.
"Sleep well tonight. I don't think you really needed that last night to be fair." My face turned red as Nick laughed.
My phone starting ringing in my pocket and as I went to lift it out, Nick stopped me.
"Please don't tell anyone where we are. I only want you and I to know."
I softly nodded as be pecked me on the nose and I saw that it was Keith calling me.
"Y'all better have a good excuse for calling me." I laughed.
"It's mayhem, Ellis. So many people have decided to roll in."
"You all can handle it, right? Or need me to call more staff in?"
"Nah, it's good and we'll be fine but hope you're enjoying yourself, man."
"I really am but I gotta go, so see you in a few days time?"
"Sure." Keith cracked up as he talked so I hung up.
The phone line officially cut off and the service was pretty low.
I travelled back over to Nick who was looking out onto the lake and smiling while sipping on his beer. How he could've drunk that early was behind me.
"Crack one open and just relax, Ellis."
"I'm not that big of a drinker for this time of morning." I sighed and sat down on the hard surface, the sound of the lake somehow distracted me from everything.
Nick pulled me closer as my head landed on his shoulder and I just reminded myself on how lucky I was to have the man in the white suit beside me. He smiled down on me while his hand was in mine, his hand bigger than mine.
His rings were cold and I looked at each one of them in interest. Some of them had a few symbols and others were just banded gold.
"Are these real?" I raised my brow.
"Yes, I got them from some lady who I bribed, and lied too, to get them. The thing was, I felt so bloody guilty after it. I wanted to return them but I turned around and walked away with a sour mouth,"
I nodded my head but pouted. I was glad Nick had sort of given up on the whole con artist thing.
"I lived out of these clothes Ellis and a few other pairs. I lived in hotels and motels, I stole cars but brought them back a few days later because I felt guilty. They never knew me because I went at night when everyone was sleeping. It was hard, and I don't think I can do it again."

More food was being cooked for lunch and after that we decided to go for a long walk through a forest and eventually we would wound up to a crystal clear lake.
And it was true. It was beautiful. Blue water and for some reason that in Savannah was awfully rare. It looked mind boggling. Some fish were swimming around but that didn't stop us taking a dip.

Nick's POV:
I had packed suitable clothes for this trip including swimming trunks for Ellis and I. He seemed so happy and excited when I showed him the lake.
Ellis' shirt was lying on the stone and I couldn't help but gawk at how fit and muscle built he was. Toned abs and it made me just want him even more. Last night was good and I can only remember the claw marks detailing my back.
"Like it?" His southern accent interrupted my thinking.
"A little bit more than I should." I smiled and eventually we were both in our trunks. The day had brightened up and the sun was glistening onto the water. The glow made it even blue.
"I love this really. Where did you find such a place?" Ellis asked while dipping his toe in the water.
"When I came here my car sort of broke, if that's the way you want to put it. Then I drove here and got it fixed, meeting you was the best thing that's happened over the last few months. I came here to clean my mind a lot."
"Imagine if you went to a different garage. Hell, I'm glad you didn't."
We were now in the water and I couldn't help but splash water at Ellis who screamed and splashed some back at me. We both couldn't stop laughing.
Ellis seemed happy and Seemingly thats all I wanted but I fell in love harder and harder each day. His eyes were staring into mine when we came close and our lips collided.
Then I knew how much I regretted running away from him and denying my love for him.
