Part Nine
The only noise was the radio, outside and the breathing of both of us. It wasn't an awkward silence but more of a comfortable silence. The radio was low and the sound of the wheels against the the road. I kept pulling my phone out every now and then, checking the time and replying to Keith who was arguing about staying at the shop on his own.
"I would just tell him to stop being stupid."
"Nick!" He shot me a side eye glance, "Okay fine he is being a little silly about it."
Nick sniggered.
"He'll be fine. Plus it's always quiet on a day like this." I nodded and agreed to Nicks comment.
I still had no idea where we were going. We were nearly an hour away from my garage. I wanted to ask but my nerves suddenly got the best of me and I felt it was best not to ask and let it slide.
The only communication we were transferring was typically looking at each other for a few seconds then Nick flipping his eyes back on the road. My overalls were annoying the hell out of me. I wished I was wearing my washed black jeans and a more comfortable shirt.
Nick was still wearing a tailored black suit with a white shirt. Why he always needed to look good was anyones guess. It made me hot though. Everything did. The way he talked and the way he flirted just made my pants tighter.
Though there was many things that made my heart glow. His smile and his laugh. The contact he made with me most of the time. How he wasted time for me. How he cared. Those gray pale eyes which spoke a million words to me.
His thick eyelashes that bashed against his cheeks. How his cheeks would flush red when I complimented him.
The car came to a halt and Nick sat and sighed. Somehow my thoughts were took out of me and we were down this lane with loads of trees surrounding us with multi coloured leaves. Red, green, brown and some even a deep purple. A beautiful but still blossom tree was at the bottom of the lane, hanging over a fence. Over to the right was a small black house, looking like it was made of wood. A tall glass window showed the inside but the inside you couldn't see.
"This is something else." I sat in amazement as it just looked so beautiful and peaceful. Something I'd dreamed of for so long. Some peace.
"Isn't it? And we are staying in that place there." Nick pointed to the small house and I screamed like girl, well, that's what Nick said.
"Really?! But what about clothes and stuff?" I questioned.
"I packed your stuff this morning while you were still asleep. I seen how stressed you were and I figured you needed a few days off."
I hopped onto Nick lap and hugged him, wrapping my arms softly around his neck and kissing him. He didn't mind as he kissed me back and I could feel the smile on his glorious lips. We stayed hugging each other for a few minutes then I climbed out of the truck with Nick collecting the bags. He dangled the keys in front of me when I suddenly snatched them off him and he looked shocked.
"Holy shit, Ellis. You must be excited."
I laughed before running to the house which was around fifty yards away. My excitement was gaining and my smile was just getting bigger and bigger. I couldn't believe how cool the house looked.
"I am, so happy to be here with you Nick."
Nick smiled at me once he caught up. He wrapped me into an embrace and my heart warmed.
We opened the door and I felt my happiness explode through the sky. A bed was in the corner with white sheets perfectly laid and a massive window beside it with a black blind for the window that overlooked the forest.
A door was near the bedroom but then another door was close by leading to the kitchen.
"I love this." Nick said and smiled, shoving me into the house that was warm and picking up the bags.
"So do I. I'm speechless." I smiled. Nick generally looked the happiest he'd ever been and that made me even happier.
"I picked here Ellis because I knew you'd love the trees and the idea of this house."
"You're right. I love it. How long do we have it for?"
"Three days and two nights." He smiled back and came over to me, closing me into his arms and kissing my forehead lightly.
"Thank you. I needed a break."
--
There was a small porch area with two seats and a metal type thing for firewood. The fire was crackling while the noises from the forest were loud. The doors from the kitchen were closed and we sat in silence with wines in hands. The kitchen was beautiful. The smell of fresh wood filled the air plus the food Nick and I ender up cooking.
I looked over to Nick and we'd already had two bottles of wine and it was kicking in already.
"I was thinking, theres a small river not far from here and a trail. We could go tomorrow."
I smiled over to Nick, "Sounds like a great idea."
The next thing I knew I was lying in bed with sheets tangled around us as our lips connected. His hands struggled taking my clothes off and the last breath was the most hesitant one. I craved him and his fingertips felt like flames against my skin.
His mouth against my neck and the scratching and groaning of friction. I was his and his only, and he made that clear.
