Cant Speak
Prompt: Nick has lost his voice, so he cannot tell Charlie he has to pee while in the shops. He decides to casually look around for one to point to, but when he finds one, it's closed for cleaning.
Chaos Ensues
When Nick woke up on Saturday, he didn't feel any different. His throat didn't even hurt, but the moment he rolled over to see Charlie wide-awake on his phone, he opened his mouth to speak and all that came out was a dry huff of air. His eyes widened and he shot up immediately, bringing a hand to his throat. He attempted to say Charlie's name, but found that he couldn't. His voice wasn't working.
Charlie sensed his panic and abandoned his phone, sitting on his knees on top of the bed and setting his hands on Nick's shoulders, "what's the matter?" He questioned, his voice filled with worry, "Nick—are you alright?"
Nick continued to panic for a few seconds before he calmed himself down. He attempted to speak one more time, just to make sure, but it was just another dry crackle. He sighed, nodding his head so his boyfriend would know what he was okay. He pulled out his phone and began to type in his notes app, 'i think I lost my voice and it freaked me tf out for a sec but im good sorry'
Charlie laughed, "oh, yes, you were screaming quite loudly at the rugby match yesterday. Poor thing, let's get you some water."
Nick nodded, before getting up and following Charlie to the kitchen. This was going to be...an interesting day.

"I miss your annoying voice already" Charlie pouted as they left the house. They were going out to the mall, "we might as well just text instead of talk, i'm going to look like a yapper if you don't respond to me."
Charlie checked his phone when he received a text from Nick.
Nick: you are a yapper
Charlie rolled his eyes, "Okay, wow. Fine, if that's how it's going to be."
Nick laughed silently as he climbed into the driver's seat of his car, and Charlie got on the passenger's side. Charlie continued the conversation, making sure to ask simple questions that Nick could nod or shake his head to. Once they arrived to the mall, he heard Charlie curse. He tilted his head in confusion as be parked, as if to ask what was wrong.
"My phone is about to be dead. There goes the texting idea" he sighed.
Nick checked his phone as well. The battery was so low it may as well have been nonexistent.
"We got a little...distracted...before bed yesterday, didn't we?" Charlie joked, chuckling lightly.
Nick remembered last night very well. They may have had some celebration sex after winning the rugby match. Followed by immediately passing out against each other from exhaustion, forgetting to plug their phones in.
Charlie pocketed his phone as it finally died, "oh, well I suppose I can just keep talking. I'm going to need a water though, or my throat is going to get dry. You should get some too, it'll help your throat."
Nick pouted, over-exaggerating as he did so. Charlie had already force fed him two bottles of water before they left the house. Charlie laughed, "you need it, especially after you tried to talk so much this morning. Had your throat began to hurt any?"
Nick nodded and made a motion with his hand, which translated in Charlie's mind to 'a little bit.' Truth be told, any time he attempted to make any noise, his throat began to burn. But other than that, he felt pretty fine.
"Alright, then. Let's grab some water and then browse those rubbish marvel comics you like" Charlie teased, opening his car door and running around to open Nick's for him, grabbing him by the hand and kissing his knuckles as he helped him out. Nick blushed, wishing he could tease Charlie and call him a proper little gentleman.
They walked into the mall together, hand in hand. Nick hadn't ever been to this particular mall, since it was quite new, but Charlie swore it was the best one in town. Nick would be the judge of that.
—————————————————————————
Okay, Nick had to admit that the mall was insanely cool. It was huge, extremely clean and polished, and had an amazing selection of items to browse. The comic book section was insane, and he spent a good thirty minutes gushing over just how many there were. He finished the water bottle Charlie had forced him to get, and threw it into a nearby garbage bin as they left the comic shop and went into a new store.
The only complaint Nick had was that there were no bathrooms in sight. And he really needed the toilet. His bladder was screaming at him, throbbing against his skin in the most uncomfortable way. His phone had died a little while ago, so there was really no way to tell Charlie he needed to pee, unless he publicly humiliated himself by doing a potty dance.
So, he ultimately decided that he could hold it. At least, until he was able to spot a bathroom that he could pull Charlie in the direction of. Which could take a while, since this mall seemed to have fucking zero.
His need only grew more urgent as time went on, and Charlie seemed to notice that something was wrong. He was withdrawn from the conversation—not that he was able to be active in it before—but now he wasn't even paying any attention. He had to pee so badly.
"Nick, are you alright?" Charlie asked, worried.
Nick thought his predicament was sort of embarrassing, but he really did need to use the restroom, but he just didn't know to communicate that to Charlie, so he nodded his head and threw an arm around his boyfriend's shoulder. They continued to walk as Nick kept his eyes peeled for a bathroom.
Luckily, he didn't have to search for long. He came across a male restroom sign, letting out a sigh of relief as soon as he saw it. As they got closer to it, Nick figured he'd be able to pull Charlie inside of it when they walked past, but when they got closer, he was able to see a large sign on the front, in bold black letters: OUT OF ORDER.
Perfect. That was just great. He felt his heart sink as he read the sign, but didn't linger on it for too long. He didn't want Charlie getting suspicious of him. Though, at this point, he was torn. A large part of him wanted Charlie to catch on, so that he could find a solution, or take him to a different bathroom. But he felt extremely embarrassed at the idea of Charlie finding out. This whole situation was just ridiculous, but he couldn't help how his chest squeezed with anxiety.
"Nick, are you sure you're okay?" Charlie questioned once more, his eyebrows furrowed in worry. When Nick finally shook his head no, he continued, "you literally can't stand still for more than two seconds...and you look quite uncomfortable. Is it your throat? Do you need some water?"
Nick shook his head. God no, that was the last thing he needed. He gasped, bowing his knees in together. He let go of Charlie's hand, his eyes blowing wide with panic. He spun on his heel and began to run out of the store. He couldn't be seen like this—he could feel his control dwindling down into nothing.
"Nick!" Charlie cried out to him, running towards him. Unfortunately for Nick, Charlie was extremely fast, so caught up with him almost immediately. He grabbed Nick by his arm and pulled him, so they were both stopped in their tracks.
"Nick, what's going on?!" Charlie asked.
Nick's eyes filled with tears, and he let out a silent sob. It was over. He could feel his control slipping away as he began to helplessly wet himself in the middle of the mall, in front of all these people. Charlie noticed his wet pants immediately and gasped.
Nick ripped himself away from Charlie again and pressed a hand into his groin, forcing himself to hold on as he darted out of the mall. Charlie, in his shock, lagged behind a bit before he called after Nick and began to run after him. Nick ran all the way to his car, steadily wetting himself the entire way. Once he had stopped, he was wet down to the knee, and hadn't even fully relaxed, his bladder still full and throbbing.
He let out a shaky sigh, extremely uncomfortable with the pain in his bladder. He closed his eyes and finally completely let go. His legs shook as he did so, and he finally relaxed into the feeling. His pants were completely saturated, the piss rolling down his legs like a river and making a puddle beneath him. Charlie finally caught up to him, panting.
As he saw the state of his boyfriend, he let out a sound of surprise. He wasn't quite sure what to do or say. "Oh...Oh, Nick" he mumbled. Nick flinched away from him as he outstretched a hand. He began to cry, bunching his hands up into fists and pressing them into his eyes.
"Nick, hey, it's fine, you couldn't talk, and I—There was no way for you to communicate it to me. I'm sorry, I should have picked up on it" he felt extremely guilty. He noticed that Nick's gaze had lingered on the out of order bathroom, and he knew Nick had been fidgeting and squirming for hours. And he had given him a bunch of water throughout the day...
"Come on" Charlie said, "let's get you home, alright? I can run you a bath and wash your clothes, alright? Then we can make you some soup for your throat and take a nap."
Nick wiped his eyes and sniffled, letting Charlie pull him into a hug. He made sure their lower bodies didn't touch, because he was soaked. After a few seconds, they pulled away, and Charlie went around the back of the car to grab a towel. It was in the trunk from their last beach trip. He placed it on Nick's seat, and he got inside to drive them home.
The car ride was silent, but Charlie held Nick's hand and kept squeezing it. He wasn't quite calmed down all the way. He was rightfully upset, so Charlie didn't say anything.
True to his word, when they got home, Charlie was quick to run Nick a bath. He first peeked inside to make sure Nick's mum wasn't home, and god forbid his brother. Once the coast was clear, he waved Nick in. The older boy cringed at the wetness rubbing between his thighs, and how the cold material of his jeans clung to his skin uncomfortably.
Nick undressed and sprayed himself off in the shower, and Charlie got together everything needed so that he could take a relaxing bath to clear his mind. He got baths salts and liquid that would make a bubble bath. Nick motioned for him to get in too, so he did and simply held Nick, telling him that it was okay that he had an accident.
—————————————————————————
Nick woke up groggy. It was the same day. He had soup and took a two hour nap with Charlie. When his eyes opened, Charlie was already looking at him. "Are you feeling better?" Charlie questioned.
Nick chuckled, "yeah" his voice was quiet and crackly, but it was working. He smiled, "looks like I can talk again."
"I've missed your voice. It sounds good right now. Very low and sexy" he teased. Nick laughed too, pulling Charlie in for a chaste kiss.
When they pulled away, Charlie sighed, "want to talk about what happened earlier?"
Nick's face flushed and his heart dropped. Oh, right. He had wet himself, "not much to talk about..I just didn't know where the bathroom was. And when I found it, it was out of order. I wish I could have spoken, there may have been a different one somewhere."
Charlie hugged his boyfriend close, "I don't think of you any less for this, so don't over think. You had a genuine accident, and I won't tell anyone about this. Don't worry."
"Not even Tao?" Nick questioned jokingly.
Charlie laughed, resting his cheek atop Nick's head, "Not even Tao."
