CHAPTER 9
Niall's POV
"Niall! Wake up!!"
Louis and Zayn's voices were very near me. I held my hand and touched right on Zayn's nose:
"Where're the buttons to turn off these stupid clocks?"
"Come on, lad. We want to see the gift you bought for Tina."
"It's on the table. Now, leave me alone!" I covered my head with a pillow.
"Wow, it's so big. What you got in there?"
"A jewerly box." I told them in a sleepy voice.
"Really?" Zayn said "That's so romantic. And now everyday she wakes up, she's gonna use this box and remember you."
I threw a pillow to his direction.
"For a thousand and one times, Zayn, I don't like Tina."
"Yeah, Yeah! Whatever you say, lad." Louis said and they both laughed.
I sighed.
*Flash back*
9pm - Last night
The restaurant was very crowded. We stood in the line, waited to buy food. June chose a small chicken hamburger and a coke while I, well, a big meal.
"Come on. We'll eat outside. I don't think there's any sit left in here."
June said and I followed her outside. She chose a couple table and sat down. The night was beautiful with the sky full of star, had a gorgeous black just like June's hair. Tonight, she let it down, not tied it up like everyday.
"Where're you going to learn when you finish high school?" I asked her randomly.
"Well, I want to learn in "Music Academy" of the town but It's very hard. I'm trying to finish a song. That's the only way to get in that school."
"Your song is great." I said with a mouth full of food.
"Thanks. But compare to other students, maybe it's not enough." She said. I saw a little sadness in her eyes.
"What's wrong? Be confident, June. Don't worry." I swallowed the food, tried to encourage her.
"You know, If I don't get in that school this year, I'll have to go home. After all, my mom never agrees with me study in here."
A strange silence appeared between us. June didn't say anything else. She seemed lost in thoughts and a little bit sad. I randomly thought about the day, in the future, we had to leave this town and she had to go home. It was so sad when that came in my mind.
"Oh, forget about that." June broke the silence and said in a cheerful tone. "Let's talk about all the shop we had come. I think the necklace I saw was very nice. You know, the pink one. Why didn't you choose that?"
"I don't think I'm gonna give her a necklace." I anwered without paying attention. My mind was still wandering around with the thought about the end of this summer.
"Why?"
Only then did I realize June was staring at me. Her dark eyes showed some surprise.
"You know, only boyfriend gifts a girl something like that. I'm just normal friend..."
Her eyes opened even bigger. What was wrong? Why she kept looking so surprised like that?
"I thought...I thought..." June mumbled "No, never mind."
She looked down and came back with her coke.
"You thought what?" I asked. She looked away, refused to look straight into my eyes.
"Zayn told me that you was about to ask Tina out. Well, that's okay. She is beautiful and very nice. Although sometimes she is very easy to get mad, but you'll find a way to cure it."
June smiled slightly but still not looking in my eyes. I was completely shocked. "I was about to ask Tina out?" OMG!!! That was why June kept trying to keep a distance from me all this week. I slowly shook my head.
"No. Zayn had misunderstod everything. We're just friends. I met her once a long time ago and that's it. I was trying to make him listen but he just keeps telling everyone. First it's the boys, now it's you. Listen, June, I don't like her. And I'm sure I'm not about to ask her out."
June didn't say anything. I couldn't tell whether she believed me or not.
"I'll go buy some ice-creams."
She stood up, smiled with me and walked inside. The rest of the evening, she didn't say anymore word about that subject and neither did I.
*Flash end*
I got out of my bed and put on my T-shirt. The clock pointed at 7.45 am. That meant June had come. I got downstair quickly, grabbed my guitar and ran outside.
"Where do you think you going, young man?" April asked me when she saw me. "You haven't eaten breakfast yet."
"I'll eat it later." I said "Do you know where June is?"
April looked at me in surprise.
"I think she's in the garden. Are you really sure that you're going to eat breakfast later? You're Niall Horan, remember?"
"I'm cool." I laughed and ran away before April could say anything.
In the garden, June was watering the trees, standing in where she stood a few days ago, humming a funny song.
"Hey June!" I took a deep breath and said.
She turned around and smiled to me. As everyday, her hair was tied up.
"Morning. Have a nice sleep, don't you?"
"Listen, I need you to hear my new song for me. I'm very appreciated your opinion."
"But..."
"Please, June." I looked at her with the most sincerely eyes.
She bit her low lip. I held my breath and waited.
"Okay." She finally said and nodded her head.
I quickly grabbed her hand and leaded her to the table. I started playing my new song. And its name was "My Guitar Girl."
***********
June's POV
He said the name of his song was "My Guitar Girl". It was about a boy met a girl when she was playing guitar. He liked her but didn't know how to tell her. The song ended with an opening question "So what should I do, My Guitar Girl?"
He put the guitar down and smiled to me. This was kinda familiar, just like the first day we met.
"I think it was....brilliant." I tried to remember the sentence I had said before.
He laughed and run his fingers through his hair.
"Thank you! You're the first one who heard that, blah blah. I can't remember the rest."
"Neither did I."
We kept laughing until he stoped unexpectedly and looked at me.
"You have to believe that I don't like Tina, June."
My smile faded. I didn't know why he talked about that in this time. Why it was so important with him that I believe?
"Niall, you don't have to..." I looked down but he interrupted me.
"Do you believe me?"
His blue eyes met mine. There was something, some special thiing that I'd never seen before. He was like a kid, waiting for me to say I trusted him.
"I do." I heard my voice spoke. It was like his eyes had controlled all of my mind, making me say that without intention.
He smiled in happiness and my heart kept beating faster that I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Gosh, his smile was so seductive and charming. I could look at it all day, if I had a chance.
"Come on. It's your turn to play it, June."
He handed me the guitar and I played "Everything is sound" of Jason Mraz. We had so much fun, chatting about non-subject stuff, just like the first day we met. Not until Niall sreamed outloud dramatically because he hadn't had breakfast yet did I realized we had tons of work to do. We came back to the kitchen without knowing there were four boys and a girl had been watching us all the time, just tiptoed inside, tried to act normal in a weird way.
