Backstory: Laurie grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey. When she was 13 years old she started getting into singing and songwriting and started her YouTube channel. At first she only posted covers of popular music, but eventually she started posting original songs as well. In 2019 she graduated high school and starting attending New Jersey City University as a Communications major, and has since been able to successful balance both college and YouTube/music. She wasn't a hockey fan growing up, but when her hockey-obsessed roommate from college invited her to the first Devils home game of the season, she agreed and the two both happened to run into Jack Hughes as they were exiting the arena. The three of them ended up talking for about an hour, and Jack thought Laurie was very pretty and really wanted to get to know her better. They ended up exchanging numbers and to Laurie's surprise (she had never been in a relationship before or gone on a date with anyone before Jack), Jack asked her out on a dinner date. They became best friends, officially announced that they were an exclusive couple on Christmas Day of 2019. Laurie and Jack currently live together in an apartment in Newark, and due to the many, many requests of fans, Laurie occasionally will take a break from music and post a couple challenge video with Jack on her YouTube channel.
