Chapter 21- Gotcha!

THE FINAL THING VICTORIA recollected was tumbling on the grassy earth. Naked and cold, her body ached in several different languages, and she stared up at the dark trees, and the comely face of a familiar young man. He stared down at her and spoke, "Don't worry Victoria. I'll get you home."
She felt the man wrap her body in something warm, and carry her bridal style.
He feels warm and his scent... Victoria thought before her eyes closed again.

When Victoria finally came around, she felt like she was a punching bag that had been hit by twenty angry boxers. Her eyes felt heavy as she slowly peeled them open. Her skin stung. Her throat felt as arid as sand.
She stared up at the ceiling which she recognized easily. She was in her room. Sorely, she pulled herself into a sitting position, ignoring the twinging feeling in her arms. Her whole body hurt, especially her back.
Victoria took inventory of her room. Everything looked normal. She was tucked under her blanket. A green jug and cup laid on her nightstand. She did, however, notice something odd. The wall beside her bed looked strange. The red and gold pattern looked the same, but something seemed different.
She reached for the cup and jug trying to pour herself some water. Her hands were so weak, she dropped the jug as soon as she lifted over the table, smashing it on the floor.
Crap! She thought.
With much struggle, stood. The floor felt cold beneath her feet, more than usual. She turned to avoid stepping on the shattered glass only to find herself looking fixedly at her mirror.
"What the holy bull?!" She whispered, and then screamed her heart out.
She looked like she had lost ten pounds. She looked paler than usual. Her hair was a bird's nest with leaves and twigs sticking out of it. If she saw her face on someone who sat next to her on the bus, she'd have jumped out the window.
All of a sudden, Victoria began to hear loud footsteps coming from the stairs, and abruptly her room flung open. Parker, Mark, and the rest of the gang filed in her room, staring at her intently. Their clothes were dirty and they all look like they hadn't slept a wink.
Victoria, confused said, "What's going on?"
Parker spoke, staring at Victoria as If she expected something to happen. "You screamed," He said. "and we were worried."
Victoria could tell that that wasn't all they wanted. The way they stared at her... they knew something.
"What are you guys not telling me?" She spoke out. "I can tell you're hiding something?"
They all kept quiet. They were definitely hiding something. Why were they dirty? Why was Diego still present? Why were Jason and Bruce standing far back keeping their heads down?
It was Liz's time to talk. "Vee, do you remember anything from last night?"
Victoria laughed, slightly still confused. "Am I supposed to remember something?"
As if on cue, Mark started rambling. "So you don't remember smashing a hole through your room wall," He prattled. "and running into the woods late in the night and transforming into-" Diego out his hand over Mark's mouth, stopping him.
Victoria looked stupified. "Guys, what's Mark talking about?"
They all remained silent and just stared at her intently as if she was expected to start throwing cartwheels around the room. Blasting a hole? Through my room wall? Okay, I must be dreaming.
Victoria's head began to spin a little as little images formed in her mind. She remembered blowing out her candle and dancing. She remembered the white hair on her arm. She held her head.
"Victoria, are you okay?" Liz asked.
Suddenly, images started flashing through her mind. Everything that had happened that happened the night before up to the point she blacked out, she remembered. She remembered the white hair, the blood, the whole monster appearance. And finally, she remembered Jason. She remembered what he did. He killed my father.
Victoria stared at him. "Jason," She uttered. He raised his head at the sound of his name. He knew she had remembered. His face was pale and his eyes bloodshot. He had been crying.
Victoria didn't care. She didn't care that he was crying. She didn't feel sympathy for him. All she heard was anger roaring in her ear. All she felt was picking a fight with someone. All she wanted was Jason and Bruce to get the heck away from her. She clenched her fist so hard, her nails dug into her palms.
"Get out," Victoria said very firmly. "Both of you!"
Jason and Bruce both stared at her. Bruce looking very ashamed and scared. Both of them swallowing loudly. No, not both of them- All of them. They all stared at her like she had grown snakes for hair.
"Get out!" Victoria ordered more loudly. "Get the fuck out of my room!"
They both stood there staring at Victoria. Liz stepped in front of all of them, speaking softly. "Vee, calm down." She gently pleaded, taking small steps, and moving closer to Victoria. "Just hear them out first. They-"
"Liz stop!" Victoria interrupted. "I don't want to argue with you. Just tell them to get out!"
The more Victoria saw Jason and Bruce standing in front of her, the angrier she felt, and on an angry scale of one to ten, Victoria was reaching a point of seven and a half.
"Vee, ple-"
That's it! Victoria thought before stretching her right hand toward the whole gang. Her palm began to glow a dark shade of blue. "Get out! Both of you get the fuck out of my room!" She boomed.
The gang stared at her in fright. At first, they stared at her glowing hand, but then, their gaze shifted to her in particular. Jason stated directly at her face before bending his head and pulling Bruce out of the room.
Victoria still felt angry. She wanted to destroy something, and so she did. She turned towards her bed and just released her anger. The blue light hit her bed causing it to burst into flames.
Nobody dared move or even out the fire. They all just kept staring at Victoria, their eyes bulging with fright until Parker spoke.
"Vi-Victoria," He stammered in an aghast tone. "You might want to look in the mirror."
Victoria didn't understand what he meant. Is there someone floating over my head? She looked into the mirror to be surprised again for the second time that morning. She jumped back in shock as soon as she saw her reflection. Is...that me? She mentally questioned herself.
The blue glow had disappeared from her hand. Victoria stood there, not minding that her room was going up in flames. My room! She realized. She quickly turned to her bed, stretching out her two hands.
"Sivno!" The fire began to die down until they disappeared, the black smoke along with it. "Dorthiono!" The bed began mending itself, the mattress putting itself together and sewing itself up. The covers patching themselves up.
Once the bed was all fixed, Victoria turned back to face the mirror. She couldn't believe she was looking at her own reflection. Her eyes were glowing. Not it a cute way that girls did in front a guy they liked. Like her eyes were literally glowing purple. Why can't I have normal problems?
"What is happening this morning?" Victoria inquired. "Why are my eyes glowing?"
Parker and Liz slowly walked over to where Victoria stood while Mark stood by the door, swinging his arms, jobless. Liz tentatively put her hand on left Victoria's shoulder.
Parker still looked scared, but he also puts his hand on Victoria's right shoulder, taking a deep breath. "Victoria," He sighed. "You might want to sit down for what we have to tell you."
* * *
The sun had totally filled the room, the sky bright blue by the time Parker and Liz had stopped talking. Victoria had paid attention to their long-drawn-out elucidation.
She maintained a deadpan countenance, not even reacting when they got to the part of almost killing them. When they were done, they just stared at her waiting for some kind response to all they told her.
Victoria held up her hand. "Can I ask you a few questions?"
Parker gingerly took a deep breath. "Okay, hit me."
"So," She pointed at herself. "I turned into a wolf-"
"A white and silver." Mark interrupted.
"-a white and silver wolf last night?"
"Yes," Parker answered.
"And I sleepwalked all the way to the forest for all this?"
Parker scratched his nose warily, while Liz examined her freshly manicured nails for faults. "Uh huh."
"And I don't remember any of this because?"
"Because during the first few shifts, there is usually no memory of what happened when shifted."
Victoria narrowed her eyes as if she half-expected someone to jump out of the corner and yell Gotcha! That it was all a joke and Parker had just pranked her as a post-birthday gift. But all she got was Mark humming the Spongebob theme song.
"So, this is all real?" Victoria questioned for the final time, receiving a nod from both Liz and Parker.
Victoria stood up from the bed where she sat and began pacing the room. Okay, my life is basically destroyed. She thought.
"Umm," Liz called. "are you okay?"
Victoria turned to face them. "Okay?" She muttered, smiling slightly. She was going crazy. "Okay?! My life is ruined."
"Victoria, calm down," Parker uttered quietly.
"Calm down?!" She continued. "First, it was the magical vampire, and now it's the magical vampire who can shift into a werewolf!"
"Okay, who brought me back home if I was naked in the woods?"
Liz nibbled on her lower lip. "Diego."
Victoria's eyes widened in shock, her eyes began getting darker. "Diego!" She repeated. "So now your brother has probably seen me naked already. And this day keeps getting better."
"So, I'm a vampire-witch-werewolf hybrid and Artemis knows what else I am," She places both her palms on her forehead, her fingers splayed. "and Jason killed my..."
The room started to get windy, and the curtains flapped aggressively. Victoria out her hands and her eyes were glowing again.
"Victoria, you need to relax," Parker stated. "Your eyes are glowing again."
Victoria was breathing heavily. She was about to blast something again when an image appeared in her mind. She lost all her anger and concentration all at once. She could see her father's face. His warm yet stern smile. The way his brown eyes expanded when he smiled. The way he sometimes almost choked when he laughed.
Victoria sank to the floor. She wanted to cry, but she couldn't. She wanted to feel something other than anger and hurt, but she couldn't. That was all she had.
"Could you guys please leave me alone?" Victoria requested.
They all nod, before turning and walking out of the room. Victoria rises up and managed to walk into her bathroom. She pulls off her t-shirt, standing in nothing but her birthday suit. She walks into the shower and turns it on, sinking to the ground.
She just laid there on the wet floor, alone and panting furiously as the cold water poured onto her pale skin. She laid there hugging her knees, just staring at her toes.
She panted; all she could was pant. She wanted to scream and scream until she passed out, but she couldn't. It felt as if her mouth had been seen shut. All she could do was pant, and pant she did. She panted as she dug her nails into her calves. She panted even as the temperature of the water went from cold to gelid. She panted even as the air around her grew cold as if someone had locked her in a freezer.
Victoria didn't care. She was hurting too much, and she couldn't take it anymore. The grotesque image of herself kept appearing in her mind. She looked like a monster, and not the good kind.
This damn city! She thought. All this started when I came here and it's all the fault of that was-wipe called Jason. She continued. He brought me to this forsaken city where people take a simple game too seriously and won't stop until I'm burned at the stake. He betrayed me. I gave him my trust and he broke it.
Victoria was very heartbroken. Out of everyone, Jason kinda got her the most. They both grew up with only one parent. Both were known for being stubborn, both were...
This can't keep happening. Victoria thought. She rose up from the floor. The bathroom began to return to normal. Victoria turned off the shower and dried herself, then she stood in front of the mirror, staring at it intensely. I can't keep on waiting for something bad to happen. I have to find out what's going wrong with me. No more secrets.

Author's Note
Hello there! I'm back...at least for now. This chapter was a little difficult to write because I was always busy with exams and I had little inspiration.
I hope you enjoyed it!
