Mars awoke slowly, the warm glow of the morning sun peeking through the bedroom curtains, casting streaks of soft gold across the bed. But it wasn't just the sunlight that stirred her awake—it was the subtle, wet sensation between her thighs. She groaned softly, still groggy, as she felt Billie's mouth working on her with slow, deliberate care.
Mars blinked a few times, trying to shake off the haze of sleep, but her breath hitched as Billie's tongue ran teasingly along her shaft. "Fuck," Mars whispered, her voice raspy from sleep, as pleasure rippled through her body.
Billie, lying comfortably between Mars's legs, gave her an impish smile without lifting her head. Her warm brown hair spilled over her shoulders, and she didn't let up, her lips wrapping softly around Mars, taking her deeper. Mars could feel herself harden fully in Billie's mouth, the wet warmth drawing lazy groans from her.
Mars reached down, threading her fingers into Billie's messy waves, her body arching into the attention. Billie worked with an unhurried rhythm, savoring every moment, as if this was her favorite way to start the day—and for Mars, it might as well be heaven.
"Goddamn, Eilish..." Mars mumbled under her breath, tilting her head back into the pillows.
Billie gave her a little hum in response, the vibration sending shivers up Mars's spine. She took her time, her mouth moving with practiced ease, until Mars was gripping the sheets beneath her and biting her lip to hold back a louder moan as she came in her mouth.
With one last kiss, Billie finally pulled away, wiping her lips with the back of her hand. Mars groaned in frustration at the loss of contact, still throbbing and sensitive, but Billie just grinned mischievously as she crawled up the bed.
"Morning, baby," Billie whispered, her voice low and sweet, pressing a kiss to Mars's neck.
Mars chuckled breathlessly, her hands settling on Billie's waist. "Morning, trouble."
Billie planted one more kiss on her lips before slipping off the bed. "Come on. Bath time," she murmured, already making her way toward the en suite bathroom.
Mars lay there for a moment, catching her breath, before reluctantly pulling herself out of bed. She stood, her tall, muscular frame stretching as she followed Billie into the bathroom. Steam was already swirling through the room, the large tub filling with warm water and bubbles.
Billie glanced over her shoulder, her bare back glowing in the morning light. "Get in. I'll join you in a sec," she said, pouring bath salts into the water.
Mars stepped into the bath, the hot water easing the lingering tension from her muscles. She sank into the bubbles with a contented sigh, leaning back against the smooth edge. Moments later, Billie slid in with her, settling between Mars's legs, her back pressing against Mars's chest.
Mars wrapped her arms around Billie, letting her hands roam lazily over her girlfriend's body. "You feelin' okay?" she murmured against Billie's ear, sensing the slight wince when Billie sat down.
"Mhm, just a little sore," Billie admitted with a soft laugh. "You really did a number on me last night, Marscello."
Mars chuckled, pressing a kiss to Billie's shoulder. "You started it."
"I did," Billie agreed, closing her eyes as she relaxed into Mars's embrace. For a while, they just sat there, enjoying the peace of the morning, the warmth of the water, and the closeness of each other.
After a moment, Billie shifted slightly, lacing her fingers with Mars's under the water. Their matching promise rings glinted softly in the light. "How do you think Zaine's going to take me leaving for tour?" Billie asked, tracing circles on Mars's hand with her thumb.
Mars sighed, resting her chin on Billie's shoulder. "He's probably going to cry," she said honestly. "Then he'll demand I take him to one of your shows... and I'm gonna agree, because I wanna see you too."
Billie smiled at that, though a flicker of guilt crossed her face. "I hate having to leave him. And you," she admitted softly.
Mars kissed the side of her neck. "We'll survive. It's only a couple of weeks."
"Your tour starts on the tenth, too," Billie reminded her, tilting her head back to look at Mars.
"Doesn't mean I won't have some days off," Mars murmured, nuzzling her ear. "You know I'll find ways to see you."
Billie smiled, leaning into the touch. "Good," she whispered, squeezing Mars's hand.
They stayed in the bath a while longer, enjoying the warmth and quiet intimacy. Eventually, they rinsed off and dried themselves, the scent of Billie's lavender soap lingering on their skin.
Mars threw on a pair of joggers and an old hoodie, while Billie slipped into a t-shirt, shorts and a snapback. "breakfast?" Mars asked, already grabbing her keys.
"Absolutely," Billie grinned, tugging on her sneakers.
The restaurant was a cozy little spot downtown, with plants hanging from the ceiling and soft jazz playing in the background. They ordered pancakes, used to eating them all the time because of Zaine, avocado toast, and oat milk lattes, chatting quietly while they ate.
Just as they were finishing up, Mars's phone buzzed with a message from Maggie.
Heading back with Zaine. Be there in 10.
Mars smiled, showing Billie the text. "Z is on his way."
When they got back to the apartment, the front door opened not long after, and Maggie appeared with a sleepy but energetic Zaine in tow. The four-year-old perked up instantly when he saw Billie, his little face lighting up with excitement.
"BILLIE!" Zaine shouted, bypassing Mars entirely and running straight into Billie's arms.
Billie laughed, scooping him up effortlessly. "Hey, Z-Bear!" she greeted, peppering kisses on his cheeks as he giggled.
Mars crossed her arms, pretending to be offended. "What, no love for me, kid?" she teased, though she knew better—Zaine adored Billie, and frankly, so did Mars.
Zaine grinned cheekily. "Hi, Dada," he said, but didn't leave Billie's side.
Billie shot Mars a playful look over Zaine's shoulder. "Guess I'm the favorite," she whispered with a smirk.
Mars rolled her eyes, though her heart warmed at the sight of the two people she loved most in the world, wrapped up together.
