Jimmy Kimmel sat behind his desk, smiling at the audience as the lights dimmed slightly, signaling the next segment. His energy was infectious as he introduced the stars of the latest buzzworthy rom-com.

"Alright, folks, you know them from Wednesday and Euphoria, but now they're heating up the screen together in the new rom-com The Right Move," Jimmy announced with enthusiasm. "It's available on all streaming platforms—no straight platforms here, right? Give it up for Jenna Ortega and Mars Tosin!"

The crowd erupted into applause as Jenna Ortega and Mars Tosin made their way out onto the stage. The two stars were dressed in complementary outfits—Jenna in a sleek black jumpsuit with a deep neckline, and Mars in an equally black fitted suit with a turtleneck underneath, perfectly matching Jenna's vibe. Their chemistry was undeniable, even before they sat down.

But as Jenna stepped forward, she misjudged her footing. Her heel caught slightly on the edge of the rug, and she stumbled forward. For a split second, the crowd gasped, but Mars moved in one smooth motion, her hand reaching out to catch Jenna by the waist. With perfect ease, she steadied her co-star before pulling her upright, offering her a reassuring smile.

"Whoa there," Mars said softly, keeping one arm around Jenna's waist for just a moment longer than necessary. "I got you."

Jenna chuckled, a light blush coloring her cheeks. "Thanks, Mars. I owe you one."

Mars just grinned, giving her a playful wink before letting her go as they sat down beside Jimmy.

Jimmy, always quick with a joke, leaned forward with a mock-serious expression. "Well, that was smoother than anything in the movie! You guys need to take that into the script."

The audience laughed, and Jenna smiled, still slightly flustered but charmed by Mars's quick save. Mars adjusted herself in the chair, leaning back with a calm, casual demeanor, clearly unfazed by the brief incident.

"So, The Right Move," Jimmy began, "I watched it, and I have to say—it's hilarious, heartwarming, and a little steamy. But let's talk about your characters. Jenna, you play Violet, a woman who's tired of her parents trying to set her up with suitors. And Mars, you're Rio, the mechanic who helps Violet out of a very tricky situation."

Mars nodded, her deep voice carrying effortlessly. "Yeah, so, Violet's car breaks down in the middle of the night, and Rio comes along to help. But things get more complicated when Violet needs Rio to pretend to be her fiancé to convince her parents that she's in love and doesn't need their help finding a partner anymore."

Jimmy raised an eyebrow. "Sounds like quite the setup. A mechanic who ends up being a fake fiancé? How did you guys make that work on screen?"

Jenna laughed softly before jumping in. "Honestly? The chemistry between Mars and I just clicked. I remember when we did the chemistry read for the movie—Mars put the script to the side, took my hand, and just started flirting with me. I didn't know what to do!"

Mars laughed, shaking her head. "I just wanted to see if we could play off each other naturally. Turns out it worked, because here we are."

Jimmy leaned in, intrigued. "Wait, so Mars, you just threw the script out?"

"Well," Mars shrugged, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Sometimes, the best moments aren't on the page. I mean, Rio's whole thing is that she's a confident, smooth-talking mechanic, so I figured why not go with that energy? Plus," she added with a teasing glance at Jenna, "it made Jenna blush, so it was worth it."

The crowd erupted into laughter, and even Jimmy had to take a moment to compose himself. "Well, clearly something worked, because the chemistry is there on-screen. I'm curious—how do you think fans are going to react to seeing you two in a rom-com?"

Jenna smiled, glancing at Mars. "I think they'll love it. Mars brings this effortless charm to Rio, and the banter between our characters is really fun. Plus, there's something special about seeing two women in such a classic romantic setup—it's refreshing."

Mars nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's exciting to be part of a rom-com that isn't afraid to break the mold. It's about love and partnership in a way that feels authentic, and I think people will resonate with that."

As the interview continued, the chemistry between Jenna and Mars became even more evident. They bantered back and forth, making each other laugh, and it was clear that their connection had extended off-screen as well.

But back at home, Billie wasn't feeling quite so entertained.

Sitting in her dimly lit living room, she had been watching the interview on her phone. Her expression was unreadable as she listened to Mars talk about her chemistry with Jenna. A pit of jealousy formed in her stomach, and she tried to shake it off, but it clung to her, stubborn and persistent.

It wasn't like she hadn't known Mars was going to promote the movie—hell, she had even joked about it with Mars the night before. But watching Mars and Jenna laugh together, watching the way Mars had caught Jenna by the waist, and listening to how everyone in the audience adored their dynamic—it all made something twist inside her.

Her phone buzzed, pulling her attention away from the screen. It was a text from Mars.

Red<3: Hey ma, did you see the interview?

Billie stared at the message for a moment, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. Normally, she would have replied instantly, a smile on her face as she texted Mars back. But today, she hesitated. The jealousy was still there, gnawing at her, and she didn't know how to respond.

Billie: Yeah. I saw it.

Her response was curt, shorter than usual. She tossed her phone onto the couch and stood up, pacing the room as her mind raced. She knew she shouldn't be jealous—she trusted Mars, and she knew the whole thing with Jenna was strictly professional. But it didn't make the feeling any less real.

Her phone buzzed again, and she glanced at it.

Red<3: You okay? You seem off.

Billie bit her lip, torn between brushing it off and being honest. She hated confrontation, especially with Mars, but she also couldn't shake this feeling of unease.

After a long pause, she picked up her phone again.

Billie: I'm fine. Just busy.

She wasn't fine, and she wasn't busy. She just didn't know how to deal with what she was feeling. And for the first time since they'd started seeing each other, Billie ignored Mars's next text.

As the hours passed, Billie found herself watching the interview over again, analyzing every interaction between Mars and Jenna. She hated that she felt like this—like she was some insecure girl, doubting her own place in Mars's life. But Mars had become such a big part of her world in such a short time, and the thought of losing her, even if it was irrational, terrified Billie.

By the time the evening rolled around, Billie's phone was full of unread messages from Mars, all of which she had ignored. She felt bad, guilty even, but she wasn't ready to talk about it yet. Instead, she curled up on the couch, watching old movies, trying to distract herself from the ache in her chest.

Mars, on the other hand, sat in her hotel room, frowning down at her phone. Billie hadn't been herself all day, and Mars could sense it. She sighed, running a hand through her braids. She didn't know what was going on with Billie, but she had a feeling it had something to do with the interview. Mars made a mental note to check in with Billie again tomorrow.

But deep down, she couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted between them—and she wasn't sure how to fix it.
