Amber top

Today was the day. When the doctor last talked to me it was a Wednesday, but now it is a saturday. In other words three days have passed. Three days of sitting there board out of my mind. I couldn't count the tiles in the ceiling. ( if there even where tiles) I couldn't see odd stains and guess what happened or what they resembled. In fact I couldn't even use theTV remote or feed myself soup (The nurses insisted i'd burn myself.) Walks around the hallways where prohibited. There was nothing to do except sleep and eat.'

"Well at least i'll have entertainment." I thought as I waited for the door to be opened. The doctor said they would be here at 2:15 and I have already had my lunch. Which is at 1:45 (I asked the nurses) and i'm sure at least 20min have past. it either that or its been seconds. Suddenly I heard shouting in the hallways

"Come on mom hurry up I want to see her before James." The voice was young and very winey I could tell that this child was spoiled.

"Now, Now dear don't be so loud some people might be sleeping." said the woman her voice was quieter but still loud enough for me to hear.

"But mom I want to be first Luke got to be first last time so its my turn." His voice was very loud and it made my eardrums hurt. The names sounded familiar both his and this Luke suddenly I remember where i had heard those names before and groan into my pillow. James and Luke where the names of my soon to be fake brothers.

I nestle my head deeper into the soft pillow. Maybe if I pretend i'm sleeping they'll go away. Its my best option because I'm bed ridden. Otherwise sight or had no sight I would run like hell to get away. I heard the door handle turn and instantly closed my eyes, steading my breathing and hoped my monitor wouldn't give me away.

"Amber are you awake" It was one of the female nurses. I think her name was Amy, Damn it! she can always tell if i'm awake or asleep. Even when I fake. (Which I will tell you now is pretty good)

"she looks like she's sleeping are you sure we should we should go in." Fake mom whispered to the nurse.

"Nope she's up alright just faking." I froze up dang it what to do what to do? I know! No matter how hard she shakes me don't wake up. So I stayed "sleeping" and laid there like a board.

"Amber I will take away your music privileges for an whole day if you don't get up this second" I shot up wright in my bed 

"My music is mine! don't take it away." I hissed as I attempted to cross my arms which where connected to a iv drip and not crossable. I scowled and pushed the button on the bed next to me, it moved me forward so I could sit up. I felt someone touch my arm. The touch was as light as a feather and warm, unlike most of the nurses that try to be comforting but fail because there hand is cold as ice. I break the comforting silence

"So i'm amber and I guess your my new mom"
