Chapter Three * Falling
I knew that Summer would be a challenge when I met her at McGrath's three weeks ago. What wasn't expected was to be so captivated by her. It was not just her natural, no-nonsense beauty that drew me to her like a magnet to iron, but also her witty personality and charm. I'm smitten, and I don't do smitten.
I want to take my time with Summer. I'm usually the wham, bam, thank you ma'am kind of guy. I recognized my opportunity to do just that last night. She wanted me, and it took every bit of self-control not to give in to my lust for her curvy figure.
She was disappointed when she did not receive a goodbye kiss, but I wanted to keep her longing for me. She likely pleasured herself after I left, thinking of my hands on her body and my lips tasting every inch of her. That's what happened when I got home.
The thought crossed my mind to stop and pick up some unsuspecting girl for a quick rendezvous. For some reason, my heart wasn't in it. That was a first for me. So, I went home and took care of myself while imagining Summer's full lips wrapped around me.
Saturday can't get here fast enough.
It's finally Saturday, and I'm standing in front of Summer's door with a dozen red roses. The fragrance penetrates my senses, so sweet, just like Summer. Remembering how I flattered her into showing me her apartment made me chuckle. My motives were impure, but surprisingly we ended up having a wonderful evening together without sex. I honestly don't think I've ever had more than a "Where's your bedroom?" conversation with a woman. Most likely due to the flighty blondes that usually come to bed with me. Summer is nothing like them. She's intelligent.
I take a deep breath and knock on Summer's door. It takes her a moment to answer. Damn, when she opens that door, I'm speechless, which was another first.
"Rain! They're beautiful!"
"Rain?"
My eyes take their time roaming up and down her delicious body.
"Like what you see?" she questions and gives me a flirty little twirl.
Her hair is loose and wavy, flowing down her bare, sexy back. The front is so low cut that I wonder how in the hell her breasts are staying confined. Challenge accepted for discovering that little mystery.
"My God, Summer. Wow! That dress is incredible. You're beyond stunning. I can't even think straight," I blatantly divulge.
"Thank you," she says, blushing a beautiful shade of pink.
I like it when she blushes.
I hand her the forgotten bouquet of roses which don't compare to Summer's beauty.
"I'm going to put these in water, and then we can leave." She smiles.
My eyes follow her every step of the way.
She grabs her small bag and turns back to me.
"Ready?"
I nod and offer her my arm. She accepts, and I escort her to the elevator.
"I can't wait to get you outta that dress," I murmur. It's the truth.
Summer and I arrive at Char's. We are asked to choose to dine on the front porch of the mansion or inside. I look to Summer to make the decision. It's a comfortable summer evening, so she opts for the patio. We're seated as the sun begins to dip below the horizon. Summer's face is framed beautifully by the golden haze of the sunset and the flicker of the candle on our table.
I want to get my phone out to take a picture of her so that I can commemorate this moment in my mind forever. What the hell, Rain? I squirm a bit at this foreign, sentimental thought. Keep your eye on the prize, which entails me between Summer's soft as satin thighs.
I reach over and place my hand on her dainty one. The sommelier stops by our table to take our wine order. Summer served me Merlot at her home, so I chose a $200 bottle of Josh Cellars California Merlot.
"I hope that I'm not rude, but I can't keep my eyes off of you tonight," I admit while casually looking down at her plump breasts.
I have to restrain myself from laying across this small table and diving headfirst into her bosoms. My eyes return to her face and find her eyebrow raised, caught!
I shrug. "What can I say? I like what I see."
Her breath hitches. I'm used to this reaction from women, but it's so much more satisfying with Summer. I enjoy the effect my words have on her, yet she doesn't throw herself at me like other women. Summer is a breath of fresh air, and I want to breathe her in completely.
"You look deep in thought. Care to share?"
Her sultry voice brings me back from my rumination.
"I was just thinking how different you are from other women that I've dated, pleasantly different."
"Are we dating, Rain?" She challenges me.
Damn, I don't date. Why the hell would I say that? Better yet, how do I respond without ruining my chance of getting her into my bed?
"Settle down, Rain," Summer chuckles. "I was kidding. Don't panic."
"I wasn't panicking." I lie.
"You were the one who mentioned dating," she replies, awarding me with a playful smirk.
This girl!
Thank the Lord above that the sommelier returned with our wine. He pours a small amount for me to taste.
"Very good, thank you."
He fills Summer's glass before filling mine and lets us know that the waiter will be with us soon.
I raise my glass to Summer.
"To the most fascinating and alluring woman that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting."
Summer looks around as if she is trying to locate the woman I toasted.
"Why, Rain Grant, are you attempting to seduce me?" She announced, surprising me before clinking her glass with mine.
She takes a sip.
"Mmmm."
I feel my pants tighten at her moan.
"This wine is fantastic," she declared. "It's bursting with flavor and has a peppery finish. I love it."
I wish that I was her glass of wine as she gently places her pale pink lips against her glass, moaning her satisfaction.
We haven't even ordered yet, and I'm questioning if I'll get through this dinner without dragging her sweet ass out of here and making her body mine in my car.
I quickly look away and grab my menu and am relieved when Summer follows my lead.
The waiter comes to our table to welcome us and announce the specials. His eyes slowly roamed over Summer. Not that I blame him because she is stunning. It occurs to me that she is oblivious to the waiter ogling her. She has no clue how incredibly gorgeous she is. I've told her many times how beautiful she is. Most of the time, I say such things to a woman to charm them into my bed. With Summer, I mean every word, and she shrugs off my compliments.
I order calamari for an appetizer and ask for more time to look over the menu.
"That guy was undressing you with his eyes."
Summer looked up from her menu.
"Who?"
I knew it! "The waiter."
"The waiter? Hmm, I didn't notice. I think I'm going to order a single crab cake. What looks good to you?"
This woman did not even blink when I told her about the waiter. She just skipped right into our meal selection. Can I do one date with her? Walk away after tonight? I'm in an uncharted area with this beautiful, provocative woman.
"I was thinking the steak."
She rolls her eyes, "Of course, you were."
"What the hell does that mean?" I ask, amused. "Do you think that I'm a typical male, Summer?"
I pretend to be offended.
She laughs at my antics. Summer has a sweet laugh, and I like how it's not grating or fake. It is pure and genuine. I find myself wanting to make it my life's goal to get her to laugh as much as possible.
Life's goal? No! Tonight's plan, I correct myself.
We order and enjoy our meals as well as each other's company. Once again, spending time with Summer is extremely enjoyable. For a moment, I toy with the idea of actually dating Summer. I put that thought on the back burner and decided to savor the time I have with her tonight.
We leave the restaurant and head to my townhouse. I don't usually bring women here, but I knew it would take more effort with Summer and feel that she'll be worth it.
We continued to discuss how good dinner was, Summer changing shifts at the hospital, and my next trip out of town. Conversation flows easily, and we soon arrive at my Lenker Drive townhouse. I park my car in the garage, quickly get out, and move to open Summer's door.
I offer her my hand, and she takes it.
"Why, Rain, you're such a gentleman."
"I try," I respond with a wink.
We enter my kitchen through the garage, where stark white walls and cabinets greet us. The countertops and furniture are different shades of grey with black and white pictures of storms adorning my walls. I see Summer taking it all in.
"Your home is beautiful, Rain."
Summer's delicate fingers travel through my home. She lightly touches the countertops and furniture as she peruses my townhouse.
"Thank you, but it just became more striking the second you walked through my door," I say as I softy trace my fingers down her smooth, sexy back. She shivers, and I notice her nipples tighten against the fabric. All that I want is to take her hard pebbles into my wet mouth.
"You're such a flatterer. Does that charm work with other women?" Summer calls me out on my shit.
"Usually," I reply truthfully.
She laughs that sweeter than honey laugh.
"Rain, you promised me a brownie sundae."
She bats her long, sensual eyelashes at me, and I about lose it. I consider throwing her sexy ass over my shoulder and marching her up to my bed. Instead, I get the brownies from my counter, where I left them cooling earlier today. Summer sits on a stool at my island bar.
"Can I help?"
She looks adorable as she places her chin into her hands and stares up at me with her sky blue eyes.
"Do you want to scoop the ice cream?" I ask as I pull bowls out of the cabinet and spoons out of the drawer.
Her eyes crinkle adorably when she giggles. "Yes, please."
After I get the ice cream out and put it on the counter with an ice cream scoop, I place the brownies into the bowls, and Summer puts a large scoop of ice cream on top of the brownies.
"Hot fudge?" she asks as she licks the scoop.
I pause like a deer in headlights. I watch Summer's slick tongue do to that scoop what I want her to do to me.
I clear my throat and choke out, "Would it be a brownie sundae without fudge?"
"Hell, no!" She responds with so much enthusiasm that I have to laugh.
She catches me off guard with her following comment.
"I love your laugh, Rain. It's one of my favorite sounds."
"I like your laugh, too," I confess.
She smiles brightly before asking, "Fudge?"
"Fudge. Coming right up."
I grab the jar of hot fudge from my pantry and loosen its lid before placing it into the microwave for the allotted amount of time.
I use an oven mitt to remove the fudge from the microwave, pour it over the ice cream, then set the jar in the sink and sit beside Summer. We dig into our sundaes. She moans at the deliciousness of her dessert.
"Summer, you've got to stop doing that."
"Doing what?" She innocently replies.
"You moan every time you enjoy something, and damn if I didn't wish it was me causing those sounds to escape from your pretty little mouth."
Of course, she blushes.
"I apologize. I, um, really enjoy my food and drink."
"Trust me, I have noticed," I reply dryly. "Please don't apologize. I enjoy hearing you moan," I add softly.
Here comes the pink shade invading her cheeks that I have come to immensely enjoy.
We finished our dessert and the bottle of Merlot. I'm ready to make my move and hope to hell that she'll allow me access to her incredible body. I've never desired a woman more than Summer.
After placing our bowls into the sink and coming around the bar to Summer, I take her hand and pull her into me.
Looking deep into her bright blue eyes, I confess, "I've wanted to kiss your sweet lips since we first met at McGrath's."
"What's stopping you?" Summer's voice is raspy and sexy as hell.
I ease my mouth down to hers and lightly brush our lips together.
"Mmmm," Summer finally moans for me and only me.
I lick her bottom lip and tug it gently between my teeth. She leans into me, opens her full lips, and gives me access to her tasty chocolate-flavored mouth. My tongue enters and investigates her sweetness. Her response to me overtakes me. As I explore, she explores. I nip, she nips. As I deepen our kiss, she deepens it further. Holy hell, this is by far the best kiss that I've ever experienced. I reluctantly pull back to take a breath, deciding to put my desires out there and praying I won't scare her away.
"Summer, I never fall this hard so fast. I don't just want you. I need you. I need you so bad, Baby. You have no idea."
"Take me," she whispers.
Her words are exactly what my ears needed to hear. I lift Summer bridal style and take steps two at a time until we reach my bedroom, gently placing her on my bed, wanting to worship this woman and learn every inch of her body, then do it again.
I slip off that red dress and find that absolutely nothing was underneath.
"Holy shit, Summer. If I'd known that you were naked under this dress, we would've skipped dinner and headed right for desert."
She giggles. "Noted."
I leave on her high heels and undress. Her eyes never leave mine. Her gaze does not roam over my body as I remove my clothes. It's not until I'm fully naked that she allows herself to take me in. Her eyes widen, and she smiles appreciatively. I smirk proudly and crawl onto the end of the bed, taking my sweet time kissing her silky skin, memorizing every curve of her womanly physique. When reaching her precious flower, I pause.
Before I go any further, I do another first and ask Summer, "Are you sure about this?"
"I need you too, Rain. Please, take me."
I do just that. Over and over again, all night long. I cuddle her soft body into mine, knowing that there's no way that she's a one-night stand. She's an addiction, and my drug of choice is Summer Dalton. This feeling scares the shit out of me!
