"So what do you wanna do today?" Newt asks.
"The pool is open and I don't see anyone there." Teresa says.
"That sounds like a good idea." I tell them
"We should all go get our bathing suits on and go to the pool." Alby suggests.
"Oh yeah! I can show off my rock-hard abs." Minho says winking at Teresa and I.
I Just roll my eyes and we all head to our rooms to get changed.
As soon as I get to the door, I run over to the wardrobe and pull out a black bikini top as well as blue bikini bottoms that look like glowing lights.
I quickly slip off my clothing to replace it with the bikini. I then grab a shell necklace from my vanity and slip on a simple black bathing suit cover before throwing on my dark blue flip flops.

"Teresa hurry up!" I say.
"I'm hurrying. Someone's excited to see the shirtless boys." She says giggling.
"No, I'm excited to swim." I correct her.
"We both know you just wanna see Newt shirtless." She says.
"Oh shut up." I say and playfully smack her arm.
"You're blushing!" She points out.
"Come on, let's just go." I tell her.
We have to walk across the glade to the area towards the gym to get to the pool. It's a nice indoor pool with a couple slides and a diving board.
When we get there, the boys are poking at Newt about something but stop as soon as we get into the pool room.
Weird.
"You guys ready?" Minho asks.
"Of course!" I say excitedly.
Then, we all start getting ready. I take off my shoes and glance over to see Newt taking off his shirt leaving him in his green swimming trunks.
I then notice there's a golden chain necklace around his neck.
I take off my cover and set it with my shoes on the ground by where Newt had thrown his shirt.
I then feel arms wrap around me and pick me up bridal style.
"Ah!" I yelp.
I realize it's Newt and I see a smirk plastered on his face.
"Newt. Put me down now!" I yell.
"Sure thing, love."
That's the last thing I hear before I hit the water.
"Newt!" I yell at him.
"I put you down." He says.
"That's fair." I say.
I wait until he turns around to glare at something Minho had said before quietly climbing out of the pool and wrapping my arms around him. I then tug him backwards along with me as we both land in the pool.
"(Y/N)!" Newt yells at me while we both laugh.
I shake my head and swim away from him a little bit.
"I guess I deserved it." He says while swimming towards me and away from everyone else who seems to be doing their own thing.
"Newt can I ask you a question?" I ask.
"Yeah, go ahead." He says smiling at me.
"What's the gold chain for?" I ask.
The smile that was on his face falls to a frown as soon as I ask.
"You don't have to answer that if you don't want to." I say offering a sympathetic smile.
"It's fine. I trust you." He says.
He takes a deep breath.
"Two years ago, my parents got it for me. The day before what they called the accident. We had snow for the first time in a few years that day. It was too warm for it to stick to the ground, but it was falling from the sky." He explains.
I can tell he's holding back a little bit.
"They called it an accident. I don't know how they could call murder an accident. Two people broke into my home the day after thy gave me the necklace. I remember I was in the basement with my sister Sonya. I had to help her out of the window at the ceiling. I could hear the footsteps and the gunshots going off." He says.
I watch as a tear escapes and I swim closer to hug him.
"Newt, I'm so sorry." I tell him. "I lost my dad when I was young. I don't remember him at all."
"It's why I have the nightmares." He tells me.
I just keep hugging him.
"I remember it so vividly. The feeling of getting Sonya out safely. The same year I had my fall. The accident happened before I fell." He continues. "I'm sorry. You probably don't care about all that."
"Newt, I don't think you know how much I care." I tell him.
He just hugs me tighter.
"Newt, I care about you so much. Way more than I probably should." I tell him.
He releases the hug.
"How about we go get some lunch. It's already one." He suggests.
"I forgot a towel." I say.
"It's fine. Use mine." He says.
"Newt, I couldn't." I tell him.
"We can both use it. It's really thick." He tells me.
"Alright." I sigh giving in.
He dries off a little before putting his shirt back on and handing me the towel. I dry off and throw my cover back on as well as slide on my flip flops.
"Should we tell them?" I ask.
"We're going to lunch!" Newt yells.
They all seem too busy splashing each other to notice what Newt has just said.
He rolls his eyes and grabs my hand, his towel in the other hand.
"Let's just go. They don't care." He says.
We walk all the way to the dining hall soaking wet from the pool. Thankfully it wasn't too cold outside, but it was cold enough for me to shiver.
"Here you go." Newt says and he places his towel around my shoulders.
He brings me closer to him and wraps his arm around my shoulders to help warm me up a little bit.
"Thank you, Newt." I say.
"Anything for you love." He responds.
We make it to the dining hall and Newt goes to get us both lunch leaving time for Sonya to run over really quick.
"Hey, you and Newt are cute together. Just don't break his heart." She says.
"We aren't together." I tell her blushing.
"Well, if you aren't, you will be soon. I see the way you look at each other and don't say that's friendship. He's coming back now so I'll go." She says.
She walks over to where she was previously sitting by Harriet and newt plops down at the table across from me and slides me a plate.
"What'd Sonya want?" He asks me.
"She told me that you and I were a cute couple and told me that if we weren't, we would be soon." I say blushing.
"And that's living with a little sister." He says and laughs.
His smile is contagious, so I laugh too.
"You excited for the dance?" He asks.
"I'm going with the best boy ever! You bet I am!" I say.
This causes him to laugh.
"I wouldn't say he's the best." Newt says.
"Well that's okay because I would." I tell him
He just smiles at me and shakes his head.
