inspired by school bus graveyard a little bit maybe

during a high school field trip, person a and their group are set free for a few hours on their own. at some point, the group come upon a museum that's set in an old house.
there's different artifacts that all look like they could be found in a pawn shop, the entire house simply cheap looking.
as they're looking, dispersing in a few sub groups, persona and b disappear together into a closed off room.
in the middle of the room sat an empty desk except for a large book and an old time-y lamp. person b goes to investigate, yet person a stops them out of suspicion.
"maybe we should go find the others," they say, turning to leave the room.
person b, however, doesn't follow and rips open the ancient, dust covered book.
as soon as the first page was turned, dust flew out of the pages and the lights in the house began to flicker.
person a was quick to return, disappointment on their face. "what did you do?!" they demanded.
