Person A's parent is the gang leader of the gang Person B is apart of. A knows nothing of their parent's work, just knowing that it was dangerous and they couldn't know much about it, though their parent starts to get worried when enemies start to target their child.
Person A's parent chooses Person B to be A's bodyguard.

Person A is apart of a gang that is pretty well known by others around the city, but that also means they've got a lot of enemies. One of those enemies is Person B's gang. The two parties had been at each other's throats for decades, each new member quickly learning about the rivalry, but Person A and B, despite this, happen to meet one day on the street and start talking. As time goes on, they start to get feelings for one another, but one day, Person A gets an assignment to (kidnap, murder, whatever) Person B.

Person A and B have been together for several years, and all Person A knows is that B has a job. B never goes into specifics about said job, simply because they don't want A knowing that they're in a gang. Besides, the more A knew, the more of a target they'd be for enemies and B didn't want that.
However, when B came home one day, the front door was opened, the knob broken, and inside was trashed, and a few bullets were stuck in the wall. A was nowhere to be seen.
