Third Person POV
A/N, I know that I write a lot of Orace, but I love it and I had an idea and I just couldn't stop myself.
I'm sorry.
Race's eyebrows furrow as he slowly gets up, careful not to wake anyone up.
Or trip over anything.
It was dark and he couldn't see a thing.
If he tripped over something, he'd definitely wake someone up and he didn't want that.
Race slowly opens the window, silently cursing it for being creaky.
Outside stood Oscar.
Race stares at his boyfriend. "What are you doing here at this hour?" He whisper yells.
Oscar looks at him. "Firstly, good morning." He greets.
Race rolls his eyes.
"Secondly, I was in the area and finally let go by Snyder." The brown haired boy answers.
"Oh my God, are you okay?" Race asks quickly and quietly, his eyes wide. "Come in, it's freezing!" He whispers yells.
"Give me a moment." Oscar tells him, swinging his legs into the Lodge. "And yeah, I'm fine. He didn't hurt me." He answers softly.
"I'm sorry." Race whispers, looking down at the floor.
He felt Oscar grip his chin gently with one hand, tilting his head up so he was staring into his boyfriend's brown eyes.
Oscar presses a soft kiss to Race's forehead.
Race smiles.
Oscar stares at him. "Gosh that smile-" he awes. "Please, never stop smiling." He begs.
Race laughs quietly. "I'll try." He responds.
Oscar nods.
"Please come in." Race requests, looking around at the boys. "It's freezing and I just want cuddles."
Oscar smirks at him. "You that worried about me that you'll admit that it's freezing?" He asks smugly. "I must be really special."
Race rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "Just get in here and cuddle me." He responds. "Please," he adds.
Oscar chuckles quietly, climbing in through the window.
The two boys slowly, and as quietly as they could, close the window together, cringing and stopping each time it creaked.
Though some of the boys in the room stirred a bit, none of them woke up, so Race and Oscar were in the clear.
The two boys guide each other over to Race's bunk, neither having good vision in the dark.
Oscar slowly helps Race climb up and onto his bunk, praying that neither of them fell and crushed Albert.
This was one of the times where having a top bunk was bad.
After Race got up to his bunk, he helped Oscar climb up as well.
They laid together.
Race was closer to the wall, facing Oscar, with Oscar's arms around his waist.
He had already been wearing some of Oscar's clothes because the older boy had given it to him as it had been really cold and Race didn't have much warm clothes.
Oscar's head was tilted down slightly on the pillow, so it was just barely facing down at his boyfriend as his head was a bit above Race's on the pillow.
"For having been out in the cold..." Oscar heard his boyfriend's groggy and quiet voice. "You're quite warm." He mutters.
Oscar chuckles softly, pulling Race closer to him. "It's because you warm my heart, and sometimes face. I'll never be cold again, as long as you're in my life." He whispers, pressing a soft kiss to Race's forehead.
He noticed his boyfriend's blush, causing him to smile.
After a few minutes, Race fell asleep.
Oscar just studied his face, before he fell asleep as well.
Bonus
Race groans softly, trying to roll over.
He quickly stopped when he realized someone was holding him.
Oscar.
Race smiles softly, just paying attention to his boyfriend's warm breath hitting his cheek while he slept.
That was, until he heard voices.
"They're so cute."
"When did Oscar get here?"
"Is Race wearing Oscar's clothes?"
"Aww, he's blushing and smiling."
"Is Jack drawing them?"
"You guys are so nosy." Race heard Oscar's voice mutter.
Oscar's eyes stayed closed, but he could feel a good amount of the Newsies' eyes on him and Race.
"Sorry." He heard Specs respond with a chuckle.
"Be quiet and let my beautiful boyfriend sleep." Oscar mutters, pulling Race closer to him.
Race was grateful that his head was against Oscar's chest, because otherwise they would've seen his blush.
"Are you guys selling today?" Oscar spoke up softly, his hand playing with Race's hair.
"No." He heard Henry answer. "There was a lot of snow overnight, so it's too cold and snowy to sell." He explains.
"Thanks." Oscar mutters, nuzzling his head in the crook of Race's neck. "I'm going back to sleep. Wake up my boyfriend and I'll punch you," he warns, half asleep.
Some of the boys laugh/chuckle softly as they disperse.
Oscar keeps his boyfriend in a warm, loving, secure, and protective hold.
They stayed like that for the rest of the morning.
Race and Oscar had both fallen asleep again, and when Oscar woke up again, Race was gone.
Oscar sits up, rubbing his eyes. He looks around the room.
He found his boyfriend sitting with some of the other boys, quietly playing a card game.
He figured it was Poker.
"You left me." Oscar pouts, resting his head on the guard rail.
Race looks up at him, chuckling softly. "I needed to get up, but I haven't wanted to leave you." He explains. "Then, I decided to join a Poker game so I didn't bother you."
"Sure, sure." Oscar rolls his eyes, looking at the window. "Use that excuse, I know you don't love me anymore," he dramatizes, joking.
Oscar rubs his eyes again, trying to stifle a yawn.
Race watches him fail to stifle his yawns.
He just admired his boyfriend, the slightest bit of blush dusting his cheeks.
Albert shoves him, chuckling softly. "Either go see your boyfriend and drool over him over there or play the game." He tells Race.
Race rolls his eyes, turning back to the game.
Oscar smiles, climbing down and sitting behind Race.
He snakes his arms around Race's waist, his legs loosely around Race's, and his chin on Race's shoulder.
Race smiles, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead, before turning back to his game.
He ended up winning, like he usually did.
Oscar was just happy to be with him.
