"Your Majesty, your father wishes to speak with you " Clara said to me . "About ?" "I'm not sure Miss , but he wishes to discuss things " "Oh , thanks anyway Clara " I said . I smoothed out my gown and walked out of my room . Climbing the stairs to my father's office .

I knocked on the door . "Come in " he said in a harsh cold voice . "Hello father , Clara said you wanted to speak with me " "Yes indeed . Take a seat Katherine " "yes father " I said sitting down in the chair across from him on the other side of the desk .

"Now my dear that you are 17, 18 by spring . Other allies in the country of New York (go with it !) and I have made some arrangements " "About what father ?" "About your future and the two countries futures " "How exactly?" "You've heard of Prince Jack ? Right ? The Prince of New York ?" "Yes ?" "Well he too is 17, 18 in March , his aunt and I have decided that for the good of our two countries you will marry him." "What ?!" "Katherine you must calm down ! A princess does not behave this way !" "Your forcing me into an arranged marriage!" "It will benefit the people of California and New York ! The two biggest countries in the world ! "Well it is . You leave Friday . You may take a lady's maid and ten trunks of items . Then your plane will arrive there . You are to live in the Kelly Castle . Jacks POV :

"Aunt Medda?" I said to my aunt . She was in all pink and had on jewels. She was suppose to be queen until I was married . So I have plenty of time .

"Hello dear . Take a seat " she said motioning to the car across form her . "What's up ?" "Have you heard of princess Katherine?" "From California?" "Yes , she is 17, 18 in April while your 17, and 18 in March . " "and your point?" "They have a strong nation . They have many resources that we don't . So I and King Pulitzer have been speaking . And we deco for the best of both our countries that we make a treaty " "How exactly ?" "By marriage ?" "Your marrying Joe ?" She then shook her head . "You are "

"Aunt Medda , I'm not marrying King Joseph Pulitzer " "true but you are marrying a Pulitzer !" She said smiling .

Who other Pulitzer is there ? "Katherine!" "Yes , she is coming to New York on Friday and you two shall begin courting . This way you two know each other before you two are bound in holy matrimony " "this is outrageous!" "This is for the good of the people . New York and California together will be the strongest nations in the world ! No country would ever dare and attack ! It's your duty !" "Alright " I said walking away . "Jackson ! "Marriage ? I can't do this ! This will end my life ! And honestly I can not have this !" I screamed . I looked down at the people . They couldn't see me . They all where depending on me to marry her and make our home stronger .
