Jack held his daughter .

"Shh , daddy's here ain't no reason to cry " he said .

Katherine left .
She packed a bag and left .

"I can't do it Jack ! It's too much too soon ! I'm .... I'm leaving . "Katherine said red in the face .
They had just had an argument. Again

"Katherine! Your going to take my daughter away ! You can't do that that's kidnapping ! " Jack said referring to their daughter Lucille.

"I'm leaving .... Both of you "
"So your gonna leave your daughter ?"
"It's what's best ! " Katherine said and took her bag . She kissed her daughter good bye and she had an auto waiting to take her .

"Daddy !There's a knock at the door" 10 year old Lucy said .
"Hold on I'm coming , how bout you go out your school bag in your room ?" Jack said .
"Okay daddy !" Lucy said and she skipped down the hall.

"Hello - Katherine ?"
"Jack ?" She said with pleading eyes .

Jack closed the door and stepped into the hall . He didn't want Lucy to hear .

"What do you want ?"
"I need your help " she said .
"About ?"
"I'm tired . And I'm sick and I can't -"
"Katherine you left me ! You left us !"
"Please ? I don't have money . I don't have anything !" Katherine said on the edge of tears

"I'm not helping you " Jack said .
"Jack why not ?"
"Because 9 years ago you walked out on me ! Katherine you where the best thing I ever had ! And you left ! You left because of a stupid fight ! A fight over Lucy's hair cut ! You left me over hair ! I've raised her for 10 years ! 10 years ! Dammit!" Jack said .

"How about I told you why I left ?" Katherine said .
"Why ?"
"Because I found out that I couldn't have any more children ! You always told me you wanted a big family and I couldn't do that for you ! So I left ! I went to take care of myself to figure out how I'm supposed to live ! I'm dying Jack ! I've been dying ! I can't afford medication anymore ! I came back to say goodbye to my daughter ... " she the started to cry .
"That didn't give you any right to leave us !" Jack yelled back .
"I know that ! And everyday I cried so hard because I knew something new was happening in her life and I couldn't be there to experience it ! You don't think I cried every single time I saw a mother by with her child !" Katherine then cried harder .
"I had to be there ! I had to be her mother and father ! I never once got a day off ! I never got to have a life ! I had to stay here to raise our God damn kid !" Jack yelled back .
"You don't think I know that ! Jack I lived that ! I had a crappy apartment and barley had enough food ! I used every last cent I had to pay for medication ! And I can't anymore !" Katherine then suddenly fainted .

"Katherine ? Katherine!" Jack said . He took his hand and pressed it to her neck .

There was a small pulse .

Jack picked her up and took her inside , quickly to lay her on the couch .

"Daddy ?" Lucy said .

Crap

"Lucy -"
"Who's is she ?" She asked
"Her name is Katherine, she's one of daddy's old friends -"
"She looks like mommy "
"What ?"
"Mommy ! About two years ago I found a picture of my mommy holding me when I was first born . In your old art case . ... Are you mad ?"
"No honey . " Jack said .
Jack called an ambulance and he and Lucy went too .

"Daddy , is she gonna be okay ?"
"I don't know ... Uncle Davey is gonna pick you up and I'm gonna stay here "
"How come daddy ?"
"Because it's getting late "

Jack was waiting . "Katherine Plumber Kelly ?" The doctor said . Jackkelly over  stood up "she's awake "

Jack walked into the room .
There was Machines hooked up and all .

"Katherine?"
"Hi .... Jack "
"How are ?"
"Okay , I'm in pain -"
"Katherine?"
"Hmmm , "
"Promise me something ?"
"Anything "
"You'll be there now and forever for Lucy "
"I promise -"
"And -"
"And what Jack ?"
"You'll let me back in your life "
"Do you really want me ? You could marry someone else and have tons of children -"
"All I want is Lucy .... And you " Jack said and then kissed her cheek .

"Jack ?" Katherine said her eyes watering
"Hmm ?"
"I'm so sorry ... I'm a horrible person . I don't deserve you . I -"
"Shhh "
"Jack it's true - " then Jack kissed her on the lips .

"Daddy ?" Lucy said walking in . Jack was sitting in the chair very close to Katherine's hand and holding it .

"Lucy ? Katherine wake up "
Katherine fluttered her eyes open .
"Hi .... Are you my mommy ?" Lucy said
"Yes " Katherine smiled
"Do you love me ?"
"Very much "
"Do you love daddy ?"
"I do love daddy " Katherine said looking in jacks eyes .
"And I love you're mommy " Jack said .
"Mommy ?"
"Yes Lucy ?"
"Are you going to leave again ?"
"No ! Never am I letting you or daddy go ever again !" Katherine said .

Jack the picked up Lucy and put her on Katherine's bed .
"I love you " Katherine said .
Then Lucy hugged her .
