"Drifter, you can't be serious..." Spot dug his heels and his cane into the ground as the short dark amber haired girl dragged him around the corner near the factory. "I can't meet ya brothers!"
The girl completely ignored her boyfriends pleas. "Alright, the first stop is the factory where Alex and Carlos work. They are 22 and 21 years old, Alex has a girlfriend, really nice girl, and Carlos has vowed to be the last person among my older brothers to get married. They look alike, but you get them mixed up they will kick your ass. I made sure that they would be on a break when we came, so-"
"Jennifer! I can't go meet your brothers! Please, they'll destroy me!" Spot started to back into an alley near the factory door.
Jennifer hit his arm very hard, "Stop being such a pussy mi corazón! They won't bite!" She went and dragged Spot out of the alley.
"No! You-" his tugged on his arm trying to get away. "Can't-" another tug. "Make-" he heard something pop in his arm. "Me..." Pain shot through his arm.
"See?! This is why you have to just listen to me. Just deal with it, please Spot? Family is everything to me, and if my brother's don't like you I don't know what I'll do!" Jennifer pinched the bridge of her nose with her thumb and forefinger. "Mi Corazón, are you okay?" She graced her fingers over his arm.
"Damn, youse gotta strong grip. Ise fine... Not too happy, but... I'll do anything forah ya..."
"Okay... Now... Play nice..." That's how the torturous day started.

After the factory, Jennifer dragged Spot to the docks to meet her other 3 older brothers: Sebastian (20), his twin Christian (also 20), and Jonathan (19). All gave him glares and crushed his already injured arm with their handshakes, and the day still wasn't over yet.
"Jennifer, where else do we have to go?" Spot whined as they started walking to Manhattan.
Jennifer huffed and led her boyfriend into a rundown Mexican restaurant, "This is the last stop before we go back to Brooklyn," Spot let out a quiet 'thank God' but before he could say something, Jennifer continued. "BUT! You promised me you would come over for dinner tonight, m corazón. To meet my younger brothers and mi madre..." Spot found it so amazingly sexy ((come on, it's Spot... Why would he not say that about his girl?)) how she would mix her native tongue with her english.
Spot let out a deep breath, "Right, I did promise you that... Right... What time do I need to be at your apartment? "
"7:30"
"Alright, I'll be there at 7:30"
Just as he said that, Jennifer's brothers Daniel (18) and Victor (17) came and welcomed the young couple to the restaurant, sat them down, and basically did their jobs as waiters. While the two brothers brought the food, Spot got to know, and really like, the two brothers. Jennifer was really close with all of her family, but she seemed to be especially close with Daniel and Victor. With them being so close in age and all, Spot could see why.

At precisely 7:30 pm, Spot knocked on Jennifer's apartment door. Jennifer answered within minutes.
"I am so sorry," she said hurriedly. "Mom was trying to get the boys ready, and Adrian was crying, but my mom had her hands full with David and Samuel (Twins age 5), and I was getting Adrian to stop crying while handing Emiliano (7) something to where, and Christobal(8), Brandon(10), and Diego(14) haven't come back from their deliveries yet. ..." Spot gave her a chaste kiss on the lips.
"Mi bellezza, it's fine. I'm glad you were taking care of your brothers and not cheating on me." He said the last line as a joke and he cracked a smile for her.
Jennifer relaxed immensely when her other brothers arrived home from their deliveries. After many introductions, and a well Mexican homestyle meal. Spot decided to play with baby Adrian (9 months).
Jennifer stared in awe of Spot's gentle playing with Adrian. Jennifer's older brothers came over too. Alex brought his girlfriend Eponie ((just some Les Mis feels for you all)) to meet the family too.
Eponie went to go help with cleaning the dishes while all 15 kids were at the table talking. ((This is going to get kind crazy... I'm going to try to make this as easy as I can for you guys, but... I'm going to apologise is advance for any confusion))
Alex was the first to speak, "Jen... Do you really like this boy?"
Then Carlos, "And does he treat you right?"
"Yes and yes." Both older boys nodded their heads in approval.
Now it was Sebastian, Christian, and Jonathan's turn to speak. All talked in order ((that is listed in the sentence above)).
"Will he desert you like Papí did to Mamí after Adrian was born?"
"Is he kind?"
"Will he only have eyes for you?"
Jennifer answered questioning in order. "No, he would never. He loves me. Just look at how he's playing with Adrian for your answer, Christian. And... I don't know, but every man has their flaws."
Jennifer turned to Daniel and Victor, who's questions she valued most out of her older brothers. Not that she didn't value her other brother's questions, but she did value there's above the others.
Daniel broke the silence that had settled. "Will he make sure you have a better life? Does he have a sturdy job? What are his thoughts on our family?"
Jennifer was taken aback by all of his questions. "Um... I don't know... About any of that... I know that he sells Newspapers with me."
Victor spoke up, "Jennifer... You can't sell Newspapers all your life... Does he even have a plan for the future?"
"Well... No..."
"Then... He needs to get his life together before he takes on yours."
"It's not like he's asking for my hand in marriage... He just wants to know that you guys like him and accept him for dating me..." Jennifer pointed out the obvious, even though they already knew that.
"Jenn, we just want you to have a better life than what we have now... It this over crowded, jam packed apartment." Daniel placed reached over the table and placed a hand on Jennifer's arm. "Now, what do you guys has to say about Spot?" Daniel asked the younger boys.
David and Samuel were the first ones to speak up, switching up who says what like they always do.
"He seems-"
"Very nice,"
"And he's great with-"
"Kids... Look!" They pointed at Spot in the Living room with a giggling and smiling Adrian. Spot was playing peek-a-boo with the small child. Jennifer cracked a smile at the sight.
Christobal decided to defend the boy from his older brothers wrath, "he isn't asking for Jennifer's life... He just wants her to be happy, like us."
Jennifer turned to Brandon and Emiliano, "you guys have an opinion on Spot?"
Emiliano shrugged and didn't say anything. Brandon gave a small, 'as long as you're happy jen.'
Another silence settled in. The older seven brothers were having a silent conversation with each other, and Diego chose this time to speak up, "Spot Conlon can take care of our sister. I've seen him beat guys up because they were hustling one of his Newsies. He has a reputation, Jennifer is in safe hands. I say we welcome him with open arms, but... It's up to us to vote to decide if we approve or not. So... All who deny Spot Conlon the right to date our sister, raise your hand." Jennifer looked around the table.
Victor put his hand up along with Alex and Sebastian. Diego took a mental count, "Alright all in favor of Spot Conlon?" Diego raised his hand and the rest of the siblings, including Jennifer, followed suit. "Alright. Jennifer, you have the right to bring Spot back whenever you want. And he will have to prove himself to the three of us who denied him. Deal?" Diego held his hand in the middle of the table, and all of the sibling, not including Jennifer, put there hands on top.
"Deal." Jennifer put her hand in the middle.
"Meeting adjourned." The siblings dispersed, and Spot came over with Adrian in his arms.
"Youse alright?" He asked while his handed the baby over to Jennifer.
"Yeah... 12 out of 15 like you. The other three think you should prove yourself at another dinner... You up for it?"
"Anything forah youse regazza."
