Crutchy (Movie)
This is for Anna629 . I hope I do this prompt justice, and Thunderstorms have been hitting my area for the past 2 days.
Sabrina whimpered as another crack of thunder shook the building. Her brown hair was in a knot in her hair. Even at age 15, she was still terrified of thunderstorms.
"Clumsy, are you okay?" Sabrina was brought out of her fit of hysteria long enough to hear the question from her bunk mate.
"Y-yeah... C-crutch... I-ise f-fine..." Another crack of thunder rumbled and a small squeal left Sabrina's lips.
"Clums, youse not okay. Is it da storm?" Crutchy ((A/N: that is the movie spelling. The musical spelling is C-R-U-T-C-H-I-E.)) clambered down the bunk and onto Sabrina's worn mattress.
"Crutchy, you should be restin' ya leg, Ise fine really... Ya shouldn't worry 'bout m-" another crack of thunder. Sabrina jumped and clutched onto Crutchy's night clothes.
"Yeah, youse fine Clumsy... You want me ta stay?"
Sabrina slowly nodded her head. Her, now, blue eyes stared at Crutchy's brown eyes.
" okay, wanna talk 'bout why youse scared?" Sabrina shook her head no. "Okay, youse wanna-"
"Crutchy, the whole point of you staying here was to make me feel better, not to make me even more scared."
"Okay..." Crutchy stayed silent. Then he got an idea. "I'm scared of Heights. Jack's scared of Spiders. Bumlets is scared of the dark. Mush is scared of being alone. Blink is scared of loosing his other eye." Crutchy placed a hand on Sabina's shoulder. "See Sabrina, we're all scared of something. It doesn't matter what it is. Jack's scared of spiders, SPIDERS! Those things are harmless."
Sabrina cracked a smile, completely forgetting about the terrifying storm. Her blue eyes started to turn to a brown colour in the pale light streaming in through the window. "Are you supposed to be telling me this?" She said between a quiet giggle.
Crutchy's eyes grew in size as he noticed how much he had said. "Brina, you gots ta promise not ta tell da boys dat Ise told ya... Ya gots ta promise... If dey found out dat Ise told ya den dey would nevah tell me anyting evah again."
Sabrina's eyes were fully brown now and she smiled, "I promise Crutchy. Now, why'd ya tell me dat stuff?"
"Ta make ya feel bettah. Dats what Ise here forah... Ta make ya feel bettah." A smile never left his face.
Sabrina yawned, now that she wasn't terrified, she was beat. Being the first girl newsie did have it's draw backs, including being counted as one of the boys.
"Ya tired 'brina?" Crutchy started ti stand and tried to climb up onto his bunk. Key word: Tried.
"Maybe." She said as he slipped. "Crutch! Do ya needs ma help?"
"Maybe..."
Sabrina got out of the squeaky bunk and started to push Crutchy up onto his. "Ya okay?"
"Yeah... Thanks... So... Um... Goodnight..."
Sabrina laid back down on the bunk. "Crutch..."
"Yeah?"
"Thanks... It... You being with me... It... It meant a lot."
"You're welcome Clumsy."
