"Emma, please." Racetrack rolled his eyes at his best friend. She smiled innocently. "What?" Resting her head on the backboard of the bed, she grins.

"Okay, okay, fine. I'll talk to her, but only if you promise to be the sweetest guy ever when you go on the date." He punched the air. "Thank you thank you so much!"

She laughed and got up. "Hey, tell Davey that I will be at Medda's at 6:00, so go there to pick me up." He nodded. "Okay."

She walked out. Being a Newsie's sister, Jack Kelly's sister to be exact, she was best friends with all the boys. However, there was only one that touched her heart. David Jacobs. Ever since she met him, she had been hopelessly in love with him.

She arrived at Celia's house. Celia was her only female friend, who Racetrack had a crush on. She knocked on the door and it opened to reveal Celia.

"Hey, Em, how are you doing?" She said. "Racetrack wants to ask you out. Will you go on a date with him?" She laughed. "Of course I will. You know that I like him." She nodded. "Yeah, but he doesn't."

She waved goodbye and ran to Medda's place to get ready. Davey had invited her over for dinner. Even though it was just as a friend, she was still excited. Medda gave her a light blue dress to wear, and she pulled back her hair. By the time she had put on her shoes and gotten her makeup on, it was 6:00, and Davey was waiting.

She left the dressing room with a smile on her face. "Hey, Davey, how are you?" His jaw dropped when he saw her. "Wow, you look incredible." She giggled, taking his arm. "Shall we be off?"

He opened the door and they made their way to Davey's house. They went inside and saw that Jack and Sarah were already there.

She sat down beside her brother and they all began to eat. As she ate and talked, she could feel Davey's eyes on her, watching her with admiration.

Finally, after dessert was finished, Sarah and Jack went outside on the roof, and Emma and David went out on the fire escape to talk.

"I know I already said it, but you look absolutely stunning tonight." She blushed. "I guess it's because you haven't ever seen me like a girl." He blinked, confused. "What do you mean?" She shrugged. "I've always been one of the boys to you. You never saw me for who I am."

He shook his head vigorously. "That is not true. I just...never realized how incredible and amazing you are before now." She hung her head. "That's probably because I'm not." He took her hands and looked into her eyes.

"You are. You are beautiful, you are wonderful, you are so... I never realized it because I never knew what I felt for you. What I feel for you." She looked at him with tears in her eyes.

"I fell for you, when I first saw you. You were so innocent and pure, and sweet. Of course I am in love with you, but...do you really love me?" David nodded, wrapping his arms around her. "I promise you, I love you so much."

She looked up at him and pressed her lips against his. They stayed like that for a while, before breaking apart for air. She smiled at him. "I think it's time me and Jack to go. See you tomorrow, Davey." She pecked him on the lips and got Jack and left.

He sat there, his fingers pressed against his lips, feeling her lips on his. He went inside, smiling as he got ready for bed.

Emma woke up with a smile on her face. She quickly got ready and went outside to meet up with "David."

She saw him and went over to him. He smiled. "Hey, Em, how are you?" She smiled big. "Better than normal." He laughed, then leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

"Yes, very much so,yes!!!" She said and threw her arms around him. She kissed him, then slipped her hand into his. She walked over to where the other boys were and smiled as they gaped.

Race walked over, hand in hand with Celia. Emma cheered and hugged her best friends. "Looks like we weren't the only couple formed yesterday." Racetrack remarked. She laughed and looked over at David. "I think you are very much right."

She pressed a kiss to his cheek and  whispered in his ear. "Watch out for Jack." His eyes widened. "Why?" She laughed. "You'll see."
