"I... I have something to show you, Crutchy." Lily slowly lifted up her skirt so he could see that her left leg was wooden. "Oh...Why didnt you tell me, you couldve trusted me to keep quiet." She began to cry. "Everyone has that one thing that makes them insecure. This is mine. After I lost it, I couldnt look at myself and not see someone so broken, so weak. I felt utterly worthless, so it got to the point where it was easier not to tell anybody, that only myself and my momma knew." He wrapped his arms around her and just let her cry. "hey. Look at me. One of my legs doesn't even work, and im happy. you just have to open your eyes and see that you are absolutely beautiful, no matter what."

  She looked up at him with tear filled eyes. "Do you really mean that?" He nodded and leaned in and kissed her, right on her soft lips. She pulled away, smiling the biggest smile he had ever seen on her face. "What was that for?" He grinned. "I think that I am in love with you, my dear, sweet Lily." She looked like she was about to cry, and threw herself into his arms. "Thank you. Thank You!!!" She kissed him softly on his lips, smiling into the soft sweet lips that belonged to the boy she loved so dearly, so inimately.

   They walked back to the lodging house that night, kissing, holding hands, and just enjoying the love that had been forver lost in misunderstanding, and pain, and insecurity. The boys laughed, but they just ignored them, lost in each others blue and green eyes that were just full of adoration and emotion. There would never be more of a better match for each other, and never more a better love story.
