I Spit On Your Grave

Cover: 7/10

The cover is simplistic and does a good job setting the overall horror mood. I do think some color would spruce it up a bit. Right now, it would blend in with other covers on Wattpad. While we aren't supposed to judge books by their covers, we all do. You want something that stands out while still driving that Horror look home. Maybe change some of the text or the woman's lips to a bright red? Just something to add a flare of color to pull me in. But I love how all your text is readable.

Title: 7/10

Your book sounds gritty and gruesome, much like the movie sharing this name. Still, not the most original title out there, but it works. I'm interested to see how the title plays into the overall story. I see a glimpse with your sample at the beginning of your summary.

Summary: 6/10

What if your lover tries to eat you? What if you get to know that the person you've killed has some terrifying past attached to it?

Emily Halter was a waitress working in a bar until one day she was kidnapped and taken to Tristan Da Cunha, world's most remote inhabited Island where she lands up in a house full of cannibals. She is forced to eat raw rabbit and human flesh. But what happens when her hidden identity is revealed and she is forced to become the hunter herself??

Join this journey of gore and mystery.

I think you did a good job summarizing your plot in your summary. It seems like us as the reader is going to be in for a gory and bumpy ride. I do notice some grammatical errors and I would rephrase a few sentences. Maybe something like this:

What if the person you love tried to eat you? What if you learn that the person you killed had a haunted past attached to them?

Emily Halter worked as a waitress at a bar until she was kidnapped. Taken to Tristan Da Cunha--the world's most remote inhabited island-- she's thrown into a den of cannibals. Forced to adapt to their diet of raw meat and human flesh, she finds herself changing in ways she never thought she would. Will the hunter inside of her take over?

Or something like that. Mine isn't perfect but you get the gist! :D

Plot: 7/10

From the three chapters I read, I found your plot entertaining. I think you are doing a good job setting up the oncoming kidnapping and the creep factor here. The woman with the necklace of human nails was creepy! And is this man her father? I'm super invested.

I do feel like Emily should've been a little more hesitant to tell this creepy woman anything in chapter two. Especially if she's afraid of her just by glimpsing at her.

Also, a thing that confused me was the parent's death. From chapter one I got the impression they were still alive and distant. Then we find out in chapter two she killed them. I had to go back and reread that part. Maybe when you mention Emily staying with her grandmother in chapter one, mention something about the death of her parents. You don't have to go into detail yet, save that for chapter two. I feel like that would help a bit.

Grammar/Spelling/Punctuation: 8/10

Overall, your story flowed smoothly. I didn't notice any huge grammar mistakes. Just minor ones here and there that are typical for a first draft. Spelling all seemed okay on my end, along with punctuation.

One thing that interrupted the flow a bit was sentence structure. I noticed that several sentences started with the same word in a row. Or the sentence structure was exactly the same as the last one. For example, here is an example of similar things I saw.

I sat up and looked around. I took in the smell of smoke and beer. Olivia stood across the room, talking to the fingernail necklace woman. I wonder what she's doing?

See how there is a lot of I's there and how the sentences kinda feel the same? Let's try sprucing it up a bit.

I sat up and looked around, breathing in the thick smell of smoke and beer. Olivia stood across the room. Beside her, the fingernail necklace woman carried on a conversation. The vibrating beats of the music made it hard to eavesdrop. What was Olivia doing? Who was this woman?

See how you can go into more detail and really bring the paragraph to life?

Characters: 7/10

I really like how your characters come to life on the page. From the get-go, we see their unique personalities come across the page. Emily feels like a really strong character and I can't wait to learn more about her past. It seems to be a troubled one.

Olivia definitely is mysterious. It seems like she is in on all of this.

Fingernail lady is creepy AF. Nuff said.

One thing I would suggest doing with the character face claim list you made would be to move it to the front or end of the book. Having it in between the second and third chapters took me out of the reading experience for a moment.

Overall: 8.5/10

You have a good story here. With a little bit of polishing (that we all need trust me) and a few fixes, this story will be great! Keep up the good work. Let me know if you have any questions or anything like that.
