Chapter 5: The Zoo

11-17-16
Well, well, look who's back in town.

Diseases, and viruses, and Zika.

I'm just kidding. Me!

Hello, my beautiful readers. Yes, I am back in Wattpad and I am more excited than ever! So I have just finished my first trimester in school, so things have been pretty hectic. However, since things have cooled down, I've decided to update this book since all of you guys love it so much! OMG! The feedback has been so positive, I love you all! It really makes my day wish every thing that's going on!

Btw, I will be starting a book about my life, like a nonfiction fun-filled, drama-filled book. I hope you guys will like because I wanted to fill you guys in on what's been going on.

Anyways, I'll stop talking so you can start reading. Enjoy!

Max's P.O.V
I woke up to a loud knocking on my door.

"Maaaaaaaax! Get up and get dressed! We're going to the zoo!"

"Woot woot!"

I groaned and stood up from my bed. "I love you bed."

Then, I went to my suitcase and pulled out my clothes for the day.

I rode down the elevator and saw Julia, Ross, and Shelby waiting for me in the lobby.

"About time!" Ross said and got up.

Shelby shook her head and smiled. "There's a cab waiting outside to take us to Central Park Zoo."

I nodded. "Okay, let's go!"

As soon as we entered through the gates of the zoo, Ross screams.

"WHERE ARE THE WEASELS?"

We all looked at each other.

"Ross! Shut up! You're gonna get us in trouble!" Shelby said and hit his arm.

He clenched into her arm and dragged her away from the entrance. "THE WEEEEEASELS!"

Julia and I looked at each other. "She's never coming back."

We laughed and started walking around the zoo.

"So, Shelby told me that you work at an office building while playing Minecraft." Julia said with a smile.

"Hey, this is what I do for a living. And so does Shelby, so don't be talking." I said with a smirk.

"Okay, okay." We laughed and continued on.

Eventually, we ran into Ross and Shelby... and poor Shelby. She was holding three penguin stuffed animals, a giraffe cup, and a rhino blanket.

And Ross.... this kid. He was wearing a llama hat and holding cotton candy.

"Oh dear god."

Julia ran up to Shelby and helped her carry some of Ross's stuff. Shelby made the sign of the cross on Julia's head.

"Bless you, child."

I smiled and smacked the cotton candy out of Ross's hand. "Ross! You know you can't have to much sweets!"

"You're not the boss of me!" Ross yelled.

I grabbed his hand and dragged him away from the sweet stand. A mom and her four-year-old kid stared at me. "Kids, eh?" I said.

Shelby's P.O.V
We walked around the zoo for another couple hours. It was complete torture when I was alone with Ross, but after I was rescued, I was able to enjoy myself in the Central Park Zoo.

When it started to get late, we headed for the exit. It was six o'clock, the sun was setting.

Suddenly, a loud voice came from the zoo speakers.

"Ladies and gentlemen, there will be a sunset party along with a picnic in front of the African animals exhibit. Please head towards there to enjoy the sunset with a snack in celebration of the birth of two lion twins!"

Everyone clapped and started walking towards the African exhibit.

"Well, shall we?" Max said, and we headed to the picnic.

We found a spot on top of a hill next to the African exhibit. The sun was starting to set. Ross and Max went to grab food from the concession stands for us.

Julia scooted next to me. "So, how did you like the zoo?"

"I thought it was really nice. I loved all the different types of animals." I said joyfully.

She suddenly smiled slyly. "Did you like Max?"

I slapped Julia's arm. "Shut up!"

She started to laugh. "I'm just joking! But I mean, you guys have been giving eyes to each other all day."

I rolled my eyes. "Jules, shut up, and just enjoy the sunset for once, okay? Jesus."

Julia crossed her arms and scooted away.

Ross and Max came back with a lot of food. I smiled at Ross, who was holding more cotton candy. "Did you rob the cotton candy stand blind?"

He stuck his tongue out at me. "Shut up, Shelby."

Max sat next to me and offered me an ice cream cone.

"Thank you." I said, and started to pick the cone.

"So, did you like today?" he asked.

"I loved it. Very fun." I smiled.

Max looked off at the sunset. "It is such an amazing sight."

I looked at the sun too. "The sunset is really beautiful."

He looked at me and smiled. He muttered something, but I didn't know what he said.

"What?"

"Oh, nothing."

I shrugged and continued to watch the rest of the sunset. As the stars started to appear and the moon rose, my heart just kind of started to flutter.

I don't know why. But it never does this. I never have this feeling of love. It's the strangest thing. I haven't had this feeling since two years ago.

But it doesn't matter.

We started to walk out of the zoo and to the nearest cab.

We went to the hotel and started to relax in Julia's room.

When it started to get late, I headed for the door.

"Where are you going?" Julia asked.

"It's getting late. I gotta get some sleep." I said.

"Oh, okay. Bye, good night." she said and continued talking to Ross.

Max rose up from his chair and walked to me. "I'll walk you to your room."

"You don't have to, it's just down the hall." I said casually.

"I just want to." he said. I shrugged and we said goodbye.

We headed down the hall to my room.

"You know, that sunset earlier was truly magnificent. I think that was the first time I actually really looked at a sunset." I said to Max.

"Yeah, it was beautiful." he said looking at the ground.

"By the way, what did you say earlier? After I said the sunset was beautiful. I couldn't hear you."

"Oh, I just said it is."

I shrugged, still curious, and continued walking.

We made it to my room. I pulled out my key card and slid in down the slot on my door.

"Well, then. It was a good day. It was good to spend some quality friend time with my friends." I said cheerfully.

"Yeah, it was. I'll see you in the morning." he said.

"Good night, Max."

"Good night, Shelby."

I walked in and closed the door behind me. I leaned on the door and brushed my bangs to the side.

The sunset was beautiful, but I was distracted by something, I had no idea what it was.

I slipped on my pajamas and put my key card away. The blankets were folded neatly again and I threw on me without a care, still thinking about the sunset.

I seriously don't know what it was that I was distracted by. I had this strange feeling.
But in any case, it was beautiful. And tingling. And made me feel beautiful.

Max's P.O.V

When Shelby said the sunset was really beautiful, I couldn't help but look at her. Because even though the sunset was beautiful, she was even more.
