Aidan's P.O.V.

I hooked up my phone to the tv speakers and started playing a playlist that I had been working on for about a week. Everyone immediately took notice of the beat and immediately started dancing the night away. "Aidan, dance with me?" Lizzy asked, holding her hand out. "Sure, Lizzy!" I smiled, slipping my hand in hers, and we spun around the room, almost running into the dining table. The whole time Lizzy and I were dancing, I kept glancing at Y/n, who was dancing with Casey and Trinity.

She looked like she was having a good time, and a small part of me was worried that Casey was going to try to kiss her later that night. A little while later, I managed to talk to Y/n for a few minutes were continuing to dance. "This party is amazing!" she smiled as she took a sip of her drink. "Thanks, this is why I like New Year's parties. Everyone's dancing and having a good time," I chuckled. There was a small amount of awkward silence between us that was only broken by the sounds of the music playing and everybody cheering as they were having dance-offs.

Then, Moves like Jagger came on, and I thought it would be fun to have a dance-off with Y/n. "Hey, do you want to dance?" I asked. "Sure!" She smiled, grabbing my hand as she led me to the center of the living room. I wasn't very skilled with dancing, but it was fun dancing with Y/n. She was smiling and singing the whole time as everyone was cheering us on.

Throughout the song, we were getting closer and closer to each other. And by the time the song ended, we were about a foot away from each other. It took a lot for me not to pull her close and kiss her right then and there, but I managed to resist, and I kept an eye on the clock, silently counting down the minutes till I would kiss her.

"Guys! Ten more minutes!" Emmy called out. I looked over at the TV, and sure enough, it said 11:50 pm. We all gathered in front of the tv. I was pushed back slightly by Robert and Tom, but I was still kind of close to Y/n and Trinity. I'm so close to her. Now all that's left to do is pull her in once it hits midnight and kiss her. I watched in anticipation as the time got closer and closer to midnight. Y/n and Trinity were talking to each other, and all I could think about at that moment was kissing Y/n.

"Five more minutes, guys!" Robert shouted. We all cheered as we continued to look at the tv. My heartbeat increasingly became faster and faster as it got closer to the final minute. I moved slightly closer to her, and the living room filled with chanting as everyone counted down the seconds. "10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4!"

I took Y/n's hand in mine, and she looked up at me with a small look of surprise. "Can I kiss you?" I asked. Y/n nodded her head, and we counted down "3! 2! 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" everyone screamed at the top of their lungs. As soon as those words were said, I pulled Y/n close to me and my lips collided with hers. She started kissing me back, and I could feel fireworks were going off inside my chest. It was finally happening. I was kissing my best friend.

"I've always wanted to do that," she chuckled when we pulled apart. "Me too," I smiled before crashing my lips onto hers again, kissing her with more passion and desire. "Get her, Aidan!" a voice called out. Y/n and I looked over and saw Casey, Mace, and Lizzy were cheering for us. My cheeks began to glow a bright pink, and I looked back at Y/n, who was also glowing a bright pink.

"Happy New Year, Y/n," I smiled. "Happy New Year to you as well, Aidan," she said before wrapping a hand around the back of my neck and pulling me into another kiss.
