BEFORE (tuesday - 5:38pm)

      Flynn planned a friend's dinner at his house that tuesday.

He invited all of his friends, including Daisy, Elliot's girlfriend and Leo, whose abscence was permanent these last few weeks; Flynn suspecting it was related to Kira. Drew was still with them and was very reluctant about this dinner, afraid that Kira's friends might hate him, but soon Flynn reassured him that was not the case. And so, Drew was waiting downstairs for everyone, helping Flynn sort out the appetizers.

"Kira is not mad at you." He said, giving the cheese to Drew. "If she was, she wouldn't come. I think some part of her regrets leaving you there." 

Drew looked at Flynn, trying to see if he was just saying this for his sake. "Don't mess with me, dude."

Flynn shook his head laughing. "I promisse I'm not, you saw the messages. A part of her wants to talk with you again, other part just hates herself for being so weak."

"Let me ask you something." Drew stopped sorting the sliced cheese and looked at his friend. "Why did you organized this dinner?"

Flynn looked at Drew and shrugged, going back to sorting the bread on the board. "First, having a friend's night and secondly, I want you and Kira to talk again."

Drew's eyebrows raised. "With all of you? No offense."

Flynn snorted. "None taken. It's just a more of a chill vibe and I know you guys can just escape somewhere else and leave us here. At least Kira will know that we are here if you fck up."

"Fair, thanks for that."

Flynn raised his fist and bumped into Drew's. "Always here, dude."

Soon after, Kira's friends arrived. Lucas, Blair and Leo first, Blair giving a slap to Drew's arm in defense of her best friend but forgiving him after knowing the conversation that took place between his and her best friend and also some parts told by Flynn to her. Leo took his hand for a handshake out of courtesy and said nothing else and Lucas smiled giving him a side hug. Three friends down, more to go.

Elliot and his gilfriend Daisy arrived shortly after that, this one looking at Drew suspiciously.

"I hope you are here to make amends." Elliot replied.

Drew smiled. "I promisse I'm not here to cause any more harm."

He shrugged. "If Flynn is letting you stay at his house, it's because you're special and I trust his judgment, so."

"Thanks man."

Elliot smiled and joined the rest of his friends, organizing the dinner with them. Drew was getting more anxious by the second, he knew that the only people that was left was Marcus and Kira. And no offense to Marcus, but he only just wanted her. He heard voices soon after, watching the only two people left entering the kitchen. He stopped breathing for a few seconds, watching Kira smiling and greet her friends, not acknowledging his presence.

"Hey, long time no see." Drew looked at Marcus, now in front of him. "I hope Flynn is right."

Drew forced a smile. "I want her back, trust me."

Marcus patted his shoulder and left to greet his friends and switching places with Kira, who was now in front of Drew. They stared at one another, recollections of their last conversation runnning through their minds, the hurt, the guilt and the yearning to be together. Kira looked at Drew's hands, once again, his fingers fidgeting with his rings anxiously and she took his pinky with her own. He looked at her, his eyes wide, not expecting her to touch him. She didn't look at him, she just locked their pinkies and after awhile she let go, going to help her friends.

He stood there, dumbfounded, looking at his pinky, still feeling the way she touched him. Still feeling the longing feeling of her. She wanted him, this was a sign, right? Drew shook his head and helped everyone with dinner. They decided to eat outside, the warm night engulfing them, eating in a circle around a table. Drew was between Lucas and Flynn, Kira on the other side of the table but in front of him, between Leo and Marcus.

They didn't talk to each other during it, even though Drew was constantly looking at her. How could he not? She was so close to him but at the same time so far away, he just wanted dinner to end so he could grab her and talk about them, win her back. He also saw the way her friend Leo was always trying to grab her attention, her arm, trying to make her laugh and Drew didn't miss the way he was looking at her. He didn't like that, at all. Drew couldn't stop looking at them, he wanted to be beside her like that, he wanted to be the one to make her laugh.

"Dude, it's okay." 

Drew snapped from his thoughts and looked at Lucas, who was offering him a beer. Drew took it.

"What do you mean?" He asked and opened the cap.

"They are not together and she's not going back to him again, trust me."

Drew frowned at that. Not going back to him again? They dated? He was looking at them differently now, he was looking at exe's now. He now understood the way Leo was looking at Kira, he still liked her. Lucas waited for Drew's response, but found it odd when none came and he looked at him and then looked at where he was looking at, or who. He also saw the way Drew was gripping his beer, eyebrows raised. Lucas shook his head, cursing himself.

"You didn't know, right?" He asked. 

"No." 

Lucas sighed. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."

Drew sipped on his beer, not once daring to look away from Leo and Kira. Kira was getting annoyed by Leo every second that passed, he was being very touchy, not once giving her space to be by herself or to simply talk with her other friends. She looked around, while Leo was talking with her about some things that happened on his job and she stopped, once she found herself looking at Drew. Their eyes locked for a moment and she couldn't stop herself from smiling a bit. She was so dumb for leaving him like that, alone on that beach, she wanted nothing more than to talk to him again.

She didn't know if she was ready to be with him again, she just wanted to talk to him and understand. Kira failed to see the way Leo was waiting her answer and this one looked at her, but she wasn't looking at him, she was looking at someone else. Of course, she was looking at someone else. 

He shook his head. "You didn't love me at all, I can see that now."

Kira stopped breathing for a second, eyes wide, afraid to look at Leo. Drew looked at her suspiciously.

"What are you saying, Leo?" She caustiously said.

"The year we were together, you not once, loved me, am I right?" He started to raise his voice a bit, gaining a bit of attention from Marcus and Blair, who was right beside her brother.

Kira closed her eyes, her head going down a bit. "Leo..."

He laughed, shaking his head, the tears threatening to fall.

"I knew it, you never loved me. You never liked me, even. Why were we together, Kira? Why?" Everyone at the table was looking at them now. The silent being broken only by Leo's voice. "Was because it was convenient for you? Was it because you were lonely and needed someone? Why were you with me, uh? Why, Kira?"

Leo was facing her now, looking at her face, searching for any type of answer to give it to him. She didn't want to hurt him, she didn't want to hurt anybody else. She opened her eyes, looking at Drew briefly, this one looking very concerned with the situation in front of him. Leo caught them for a moment and shook his head, laughing. 

"I can't believe this. I'm talking about this and you are looking at him? Are you serious?"

"Leo..." Blair tried to grab his brother's arm but he dodged it, getting up after.

Kira looked at Leo now, his tears all over his face. She knew that someday this conversation was to be taken, but she didn't want it to be now. She was faced with another things, another person she most desired and Leo was not that person anymore. The relationship that they had, it was in the past already, it wasn't part of her anymore. She moved on and he needed to do the same.

"Why are you telling me this now? We had so much time to talk about this and you never wanted it and now you're being like this?" Kira was getting angry.

"Being like this? You just wasted my life, a whole year with you...wasted, just like that." Leo snapped his fingers. 

"Wasted? Leo, I liked you, okay? We just never had the same interests and I didn't want the type of commitment you were pressuring me on. I was clean about that since the beginning."

Leo laughed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"You just don't care about anyone but yourself."

Kira got up now, Marcus doing the same thing, getting close to Leo.

"Are you serious?" She asked.

"Yeah, you heard what I said. You don't care about anyone, if you cared you would still be with me and that guy wasn't even here today." 

At that, Drew got up, Lucas and Flynn stopping him to go any further.

"Aw, look at him, getting up to defend you. Why are you guys not together anymore?" Leo looked at Drew. "Is it because she told you she can't have a relationship? She can't be away from you? Did she tell you she liked you? Because if that so, tell me your secret, man."

Drew loosened a bit, looking between Kira and Leo. He didn't like where this conversation was going.

"Kira, say something." Drew tried.

She looked above, closing her eyes. "Leo, stop it." She looked at him. "We would never have a future together, but yes I liked you and no, I didn't love you, okay? We were different and we weren't compatible and that year with you was good. Move on, Leo. Please, move on."

He laughed, his hands going behind his head, shaking his head.

"Move on? Okay."

"Leo..."

He got close to her, Marcus putting between her best friend and Leo. This one shook his head.

"Take it easy, man." Marcus tried.

"Leo, stop it!" Blair intervened.

"Did you tell him already? Did you tell him that he's the one that you love?"

Everyone stopped for a moment, Marcus looked at Kira for any type of response. She was looking at Leo, trying to understand what he had say. Trying to understand her heart hearing that. Leo knew her better in that matter, but she couldn't really love Drew could she? She saw the way Leo shook his head once again and started to leave in the direction of the door. She walked towards him.

"Leo, what are you doing?"

He stopped, his back facing her.

"I just want you to be happy and if that's not with me, then do yourself a favor and stop keeping your heart in a cage."

And then, he just left, leaving everyone dead in their tracks, Kira questioning her feelings and Drew more anxious about her feelings towards him.

it was very difficult for me to write this chapter i dont know why but hey, leo made an appearance and it was not for a good reason. everyone was asking about him, but basically leo didnt want to be apart of kira's life while she was with drew because he was still hurting. but feelings are out in the open oops.
